  1. As said above, shipping cost is out of the control of ssa or any other company you would have choosen, but one thing you can count on with ssa, is that their products and customer service is top of the line, you can order with peace of mind. You are lucky you dont have to pay duties too, like I do .

  5. funny thing is ive only been doing car audio since around october last year towards the end of the school semester, so i can't say if it sounds good or not. i mean it sounds good to me but to some of the more experienced people who have been around audio longer may say that it sounds like garbage. but all noobness aside it definetely sounds good, the tweeter are a little bright for me but my uncle likes it. as for the midbass i think it may need to loosen up a bit. the first piece of equipmetn i got for my car was a set of polks for my door since i went crazy with the bass setting on the HU and blew the surround off, and polks sounded like crap when first i got it.. but about a month later i cranked it up and was like F*** YEAH!!! then i got subs. as for the wiring, i didn't really look into bi-amp until after i gave the car back to him, but i def wouldve gone that route instead of amping his stock rear 6x9s and turning the gain down on it. and mid-range im going to assume you mean the vocals... it sounds good, you can clearly hear it over the bass. i apologize for my noobness Thanks for the input, it's good to hear opinions from as much people you can. Yeah, if you go the bi amp route, it allows you the flexibility of turning the gain down on the tweeters and send a but more power to the woofer. Might sound better overall.
  6. How are the mid range and mid bass on those t1's, are u running them bi amped or 1 amp?
  7. According to the specs on that amp it does 1000 watts rms at 2 ohms, If you can change the order on your subwoofer to a dual 2 ohm instead of dual 1 ohm, then you would have better option on buying good amp (sundown sax 1200 D) for the budget you mention. JMO

  9. Yes, wiring the new amp straight to the head unit. I am not familiar with your head unit, specifically the function it may or may not have to control your stock sub and/or your rear speakers, hence I cannot tell how well it would work, it all depends on the functions and control of your head unit. Ideally you would want to tap into a full range unfiltered signal comming from the head unit going to your loc then to your new amp.
  10. They splice the rear output wires from the head unit (which is the rear input to your stock amp), and connect it to the loc inputs, then connects the rca lines to the loc output, which goes straight to the new amp.
  11. the loc converts high level speaker outputs from your factory head unit to pre amp rca level that connects to your new amp for it's input signal.
  12. sorry let me clear that up, I ment eliminate the stock amp completely from the new sub stage you are going to install.
  13. you can look at aq amp, also may want to consider buying used or referbish (db-r electronics) if budget is going to be a problem or look at the 1200 - 1500 watts rms range.
  14. My only concern is wiring the RCA from the Sundown to the factory amp then to the head unit. Is this a bad idea hooking a more powerful amp up to your factory amp? eliminate the factory amp completely... rca's should be ran from head unit to the sundown amp, unless you are going to use a signal processor which would have been in between.
  15. I know you have asked about r/f subs, I have used some of them, and in my opinion they get loud but at the expense of sq, especially ported. Personally, with your goal, power and budget, I would have chosen 1 15'' icon ported over the listed sub/subs, period!
  16. With the power , space and budget you have, an ssa dcon 10'' dual 4 ohm wired down to 2 ohms, ported with an enclosure built to specs would fit right into the slot, and if you can build the enclosure your self it would save you alot.
  17. Welcome to ssa .
  18. take a look at the DEH-80PRS, dont know much about it, but it looks good as well and very reasonable price...
  19. welcome
