I used to own a 1996 camry and I beat and bend the trunk lip a bit, but I was able to squeeze a 4 cu^ft box though the opening, but I'm guessing you don't want to do that ha.

Alternator first, another battery is more draw off of your stock alternator.

If you are strapping amps you don't need to match everything on both amps. You only need to set the master amp, just fyi. Learn something new everyday thank you sir.
Just run the single amp, have to match everything on the two amps, and after rising and such none of it will ever be .5 ohms. Won't notice the difference in powers anyways.
If you have the electrical to support that, go for it. After rises and such it won't be around .5 ohms anyways. I'd just stay at a more stable 1 ohms.
