  1. Too bad the ending blew like a screen door in a hurricane. Shut it! Don't ruin it for me.
  2. Maybe time to sneak in some 2"~3" at the base of the "A" pillar of the 4Runner. I vote Fountek, Fostex or maybe Dayton. You heard the 4runner first hand and would know what I should use. Plus you know how bright I like my music. Don of SDS has the TB W3-1364's: http://www.parts-express.com/pe/showdetl.cfm?partnumber=264-844 They were brighter than my Founteks, maybe a little more on axis demanding, but also a pinch more towards your ear on pin point precision compared to mine. The Aura 3" FR I have in the bedroom towers, are REALLY impressive for the price, but personally I think the Founteks are a pinch better for in cabin. These TB's caught my eye: http://www.parts-express.com/pe/showdetl.cfm?partnumber=264-812 before I bought what I have now. I love underhung top end, as what I have now are, but these are more competitively priced. Sean did not seem to like them all that much if I remember correctly, along with the TB 1878's I ALMOST pulled the trigger on. I will have to look it up, but I specifically remember the Fontek FR58's getting really strong reviews, as they are what lead me to the 89's.

  4. The nice thing is I can swap it out with the sealed Dcon or ported Icon or which ever, and have truck space back.
  5. We try to, but it is difficult at times due to the very limited sales numbers compared to Sundown for example.
  6. edit: n/m more appropriate for the rtms
  7. Just happened to order when we were wiped out of Leviathans. We are putting in our inventory for the mikro amps shortly.
  8. I would love a Miata, just don't really have room or a budget for a 3rd car. Plus, it would be a few years before I could be competitive with it in AX, as there are SOOOOOO many and most are great drivers in their classes in this area.
  9. I sent you an email stating they were backed up on some larger order. We will update your order with tracking very shortly.
  10. More protein and buzz saw on the way.
  11. Because Audi.
  12. I will simply reply that the SX10 is not the same thing, sorry. The Icon motor is machined here in the USA with spiral axis cooling with USA steel. The SX cannot remotely say that. That alone is more than enough difference as to why the Icon costs more and is the better choice. RE is a cheaply built overseas copy of what it used to be. Now if you said original Icon from 2007 and old special order USA made RE SX Hybrid, then you are closer.BUT!!!! That is off topic, back to the originally asked X10 / SA-8's on the same power. As I have not heard them head to head, it is difficult to give an experienced reply, doubt many outside of the Sundown HQ has tested the SA-8 head to head on the X10 since the X series is so new. Anyway, all things equal in proper enclosures, I personally will pick the option of more cone area and less power compression, meaning in this case the pair of SA-8's. Because even though the coil in the SA is smaller than the coil in the X, it is still the combined coil surface and cooling of the motors, and even though an X10 has more area than a single SA8, the pair of SA8's combined have more swept cone area. So to stay on topic and give an educated guess on the initial question at hand, I would lean towards the SA-8's.
  13. Nick can help out on the recone. Wonder about this shop you bought it from. Good looking install.
  14. No he hasn't. HE's just been taking nude photos of himself next to his full size George Michael cutout singing "Hungy like a Wolf" at the top of his lungs. THAT is WHY. WTF man, you're not supposed to be telling people about my addiction.
  15. I have no problem adding another section. But a few things first... #1 We already have a competition section at the top of the forum and it is not used all that much #2 I would not have the time to constantly update it with info #3 We have a range of competitors on here all over the country/world, but this site has never really been about the competitions but more so about the install #4 I do not really see associations coming here when they have their own forums/sections elsewhere, hell we have vendors who are only here and I have to constantly remind them they have a section here.
  16. Since I am still awaiting the arrival of something I have been waiting on a good while now..... the Evil will stay in the house for now, while an Icon 18 was added in for part of the daily driver rotation. I quick weekend up at Neal's and tada, nice and solid sealed box that barely fits.
  17. I will check it on the back end to see if there is anything I can do.
  18. There is no lead slap issue if used properly. If over driving the sub and it unloads, there is a chance for lead slap. So essentially use it as you're supposed to, it's not an SPL competition sub. Would love to see this review.
  19. Holy crap, I didn't realize.
  20. Nice little review. I actually picked up some photojojo lenses and a gorilla tri-pod. I have not really had a chance to mess with them all that much.
