  1. Depending on his goals and his listening preferences two sets may suit him more than just one of them, yeah I know most people will tell him to get one set and put a good amount of power on them but everyone's taste are different. OP good luck with search and check out local shops to see what components sound good to your ears. Rockford and Alpines are great but Im a Hertz and Morel man when it comes to components, but you get what you pay for.

Half of what it does at 4 ohms.
  7. m5! Impious is not ///M5 Flat response in what? We need goals, a minimum power rating doesn't mean anything. Your not looking for a flat response your looking for something that sounds good, and get's loud. Your not after SQ. Guaranteed. He was referring to the car comment in Impious's post
  8. I never seen one so I couldnt comment on this one, hopefully someone on here has.
  9. It seems like whoever is driving that Genesis is slow to get off the line everytime.
  10. I helped my friend detail his 1959 Ford Edsel today, before he sends it in to get some body and frame work done to it. I only have a couple of pictures, will get more later on (everything but the motor is like new). He was hit by an 18 wheeler one day on the high way and it put that little dent on the top of the rear end plus knocked the bumper loose on the side. This car is so damn pretty, just feels funny to sit in it and see how they were riding in the 50 and 60's. The grill on the front of this car is better than anybody who tries to throw a custom grill on there car, everything is chrome. Enjoy the pictures, would love to own one and have a poster of the car. He also has a poster that has 4 different versions of the Edsel (from convertible, coupe, sedan and hard top) with three different views of them, cool ass poster.
  11. No it will not, you cant be worried about sound quality with 2 BTL's and 4000 watts +. They will sound good as long as they are in there recommended enclosure
  12. You may want to start slower and get one BTL since your asking these type of questions. You dont want to mess up some money if your still learning. Do you have a budget for amp, wires, box, electrical to support the amp(s) and so on?
  13. Punishement = 4 counts of the Death Penalty
  14. Depending on goals, listening habits, enclosure size, the right electrical and so on. Is 4000watts needed if you arent competing just to push the BTL to optimal performance, no not all.
  15. It is a gain remote on the Sundown, you can use it (that is up to you, personal preference thing). If you have a subwoofer control then there is no need for a Gain Knob in my eyes but some still use it.
  16. Save 40 more dollars and get the AQ2200D, its a better buy than they two you listed: Audioque: Amps: AQ2200D
  17. Thread = at some of these responses
  18. x2, the same method I use as well.
  19. Check your remote wire and make sure its not pinched, make sure you have a solid power connection as well as ground. If all these are top notch then try another amp if you or a friend has one laying around, this will help in determining if it is the amp or a connection.
  20. It seems like your talking about a Gain Knob and no they wont hurt the amp that is what they are made for. From your signature it seems like you want to go Sundown, they have Gain Knobs which can control the gain level at the setting it is on the amp. Whereas some other companies have Bass Boost Knobs, which control the Bass Boost Level that is set at the amp (dont use bass boost period).
  21. Unhook each speaker one by one to see if it is a speaker related issue.
