LED tech isn't that great for TV's. I promise you. Most of whats out there is gimick crazy.

Why on EARTH is it not great for TV's. Have you ever seen one in action?

yup. Lots. Demoed at least 15 different times.

Plasma is still much better for almost everything. I know Sean will disagree, but I find the only reason to not get plasma is lighting.

I also got a really great price on my LCDs so that was a big deal to me. I also specifically went out wanting a good picture but with really low glare and high brightness if I wanted it. If there was a plasma that was out at that specific time that had similar glare properties that was 52" and in the 1200 dollar range... I might have made a different choice.

Lighting is the only valid reason, but it is overblown. My living room is all windows and it works really well. There are times in the day that require some blinds to block direct light, but that is the case with the LCD's in the house as well.

No lie, if I saw a plasma if equal size and quality that had a lower gloss screen for similar price I may have went that way.

I nearly purchased the kuro super mega black black ultra black. But it was about a billion times more expencive for the displays that were smaller than mine.

My LCD has an almost hazy finish on the screen and it difuses glare quite well... but it still washes out badly at times when the sun is setting and I'm not even in pure direct sunlight.

Due to placement in my room I have even more problems too..... I get some washing in spots from a chandelier because of it's garbage placement. I do know however that $ for $ led isn't any real improvement and if you're talking black levels..... plasma makes any other TV format look like an etch a sketch for contrast ratio in the black levels.

I think my TV is on the way out. While I was watching 'Watchmen' last night I noticed that some colors were getting kinda funny with the blue of Dr. Manhattan that I don't ever remember before.

I'm looking at Panasonic TV's on Amazon, and damn have TV's gotten cheap since I bought mine. I'm looking for a 42", don't need 1080p, can't tell a difference on mine from my couch.

How much do you think that I could get out of my 42" Sharp Aquos, 3yrs old? I'm wondering if 400 is possible out of it. It is still a nice TV, just starting to get some horizontal banding, and the color is getting a bit funny, but the problems are hardly noticeable under standard viewing.

Workshop tv for its next job?

Finished my schedule for Fall semester, and while I'll probably not do the whole protein every 3 hours thing, 3 days a week of lifting with ~150-200 protein intake shouldn't be a problem.

Never. Ever. EVER. Get the bottle of KY lubricant mixed up with the bottle of antibacterial hand sanitizer.
No matter how much of a jester you think you are, when a girl calls you very thin, you just agree. Saying "maybe I’m just not fat like you" does not go down well, and nothing can prepare you for the next four days of groin pain.
If, on the day you need to vacate your dorm room but haven’t started packing, at least remove the neckties from the bed-frame. Nothing like trying to avoid explaining to your mother that your girlfriend enjoys a little bondage.
