Too rich for my blood. Tools are invaluable though.

Agreed. But hell even OBDI is ridiculously expensive.

Snap-On Verus Wireless Scan tool. I bought this with complete coverage. US, Asian, and Euro OBDI and OBDII coverage, J-2534 flash programming with a built in 4 channel scope and a Snap-On Shopkey5 information system (think Online Mitchel Manual).

Mine too, but the money was burning a hole in my pocket.

Nice! That is badass, and must have cost a pretty penny.

Or 2.

Me too. I bought a killer digital torque/angle wrench last week as well. It worked out perfectly as I got to do heads on a 3.4 Chevy motor the same day I got it. I got to use both the torque and angle sections of the wrench trippy.gif

Thats a badass scanner. smile.png

I guess if one is going to be a mechanic on new cars, its pretty essential to have one.

Most shops have one, but usually they are entry level tools, like the OTC Genesis, Mac Mentor, or Snap-On Solus. They cost 1/3-1/5 what I paid for this unit, but they also do 1/25th of what mine does.

My dad has a few diagnostic machine's. One is the size of an armoire. lol

I have a torque wrench, but do most stuff by feel. I think the last time I used it was installing my locker, had to break out the backlash meter too for that one.

Had to pull the manifold off the Nissan to change 2 of the spark plugs the other day. That was a blast...NOT.

They make torque wrenches to do torque and angles? That would have been nice last time I did the intake manifold on my Cadillac.

It's pretty easy to calculate it with a normal torque wrench and an extension.. we do it at work.

Back from the competition. Did a 141.7 at 35Hz , mic on the windshield.

I think there is a little more I could have got, but I am happy nonetheless. SA-12 on a 1500D

Yeah. It has an LCD screen and 2 rows of LED lights (ranging from green/yellow/red) that you can set for whatever you need. You can do US/metric and torque angle. You can even ratchet it back in tight spots. So if you have a 90 degree turn and say 50 degrees of movement you can turn it part way, ratchet it back, and it will calculate and allow you to finish the sweep. Quite pricy, but with today's torque to yeild bolts it is almost a requirement.

Looks a lot like this unit:

The pair I got from Bromo are nice, but they took some getting used to.

They are pretty close to the ones I ordered.
