SA-15s will be introduced with all the latest features we have been putting into the SA series right off the bat... new magnet boots, triple joint rings, new ventilation system upgrades, and so forth. I wanted these all to come on the 15s right away hence the delay in launching them -- but it is all nearly ready !

Few other things that haven't been directly talked about... just mentioned in passing :

1) Z v.2 woofers have been revised as time has progressed.

* Coils are now 4-layer round quad-wound biflair copper coils... more robust than the original aluminum, the copper has a lower expansion ratio which helps in the tight gap, more BL^2/RE (motor force), lower FS, etc.

* My testing shows no loss in SPL at lower power and a 0.3 gain above 6kw burps.

* Top shorting ring was removed -- but internal ring was upgraded to copper.

* WoofersEtc has ordered some of every size and coil configuration so I'll be posting new T/S specs for every size soon.

2) Nightshade v.2 SPL coils will be available soon... not suggested for daily as they tighten the gap but I expect higher motor force from these and the DCR is lower... also slightly shorter WW for lowered mass. Testing to come when they arrive.

I have a question

I plan on getting a 100.4 to power a pair of Alpine Type X 6.5 components

Later in the future, I will be adding 2 more pairs on the front doors (making it 3 pairs on front doors) and a pair in the rear doors. For a total of 4 pairs of Type X components in the car. I plan on going active.

How would this one benefit me besides having more power output?

Can I connect more than one pair of components and that way save on having to buy more amps?

I mentioned before Jacob I'm waiting on the SA-15 presale. Pick me out 4 I'm designing a home for them.

And yes... that means E8 v.1 can be re-built again as I will have parts.

Sounds good, may not buy anymore amps for my mids and highs and just get the SAX-200.4 (its a beauty).

Bit more on the SPL coil for NS v.2... here is a comparison of spec :

Dual-1 "standard" Coil :

WW = 71 mm

ID = 76.3 mm

OD = 83.8 mm

DCR = 0.95 per side

Inner Gap = 1.15 mm

Outer Gap = 1.35 mm

Dual-1 "SPL" Coil :

WW = 57 mm

ID = 75.5 mm

OD = 84.5 mm

DCR = 0.8 per side

Inner Gap = 0.75 mm

Outer Gap = 1.0 mm

So we have 0.75 mm more coil thickness in the gap and a lower DCR for SPL burp purposes.

I'll do spec comparisons once they arrive... sample D1 versions shipped today so I should have them soon.

I'll have pre-ordering for SA-15 and E8 v.2 opening up shortly for those waiting. Ironing out all the final details on production.

Initial un-broken in specs on the SPL D2 coil indicate about 25% higher BL^2/RE -- the glue isn't dry so I can't measure it broken in yet... will do so tomorrow and confirm that it is that much higher.
