Posted September 28, 201014 yr What do you guys think about offering big aeroports for sale ? Big as in ports fitting up to 12 inch diameter pipe, hand made, out of fiberglass. Better results compared to using multiple small ports, easier to tune, easier to get the needed port area, no more troubles with couplers, or pipes not long enough, or ports not fitting right. Here is how the versions for 8 inch and 10 inch pipe look:Raw 8 inch version on a piece of pipe:If anyone can post some accurate standard pvc pipe measurements (ID and OD) it would be useful to see if the size standards are different between US and Europe.
September 28, 201014 yr They look super good. If i ever buck up and upgrade my sub stage i would definitely look into these. Any idea of costs? what about shipping?
September 29, 201014 yr Author A final price is in discussion, we need to figure out all the details before shooting a price. Shipping shouldn't be a problem, they will ship from the US
September 30, 201014 yr Sweet these are nice. Im sure allot of people would be interested esp. if the price was right. I know lots of people who would love to buy these now.
September 30, 201014 yr These are deffinatly a needed item for expanding possabilities on box design!!
October 3, 201014 yr Author I am very interested, I need (5) 8"ers at minimum, up to (10) 8"ersMy last big order was 10 8'ers, that takes a bit of time Guys, where can I find some pvc pipe ID's and OD's ? Right now these are crucial since I'm going to the machine shop and need to know if I need new molds for the US versions. I'll get some exact measurements of the current versions tomorrow. Those look great, i'd love to see how you make them !Lots of patience and even more elbow grease
October 3, 201014 yr Here you are the listing on :http://www.harvel.com/tech-specs-pvc-pipe-40.aspP.S. I get a Discount for finding and posting for you....hahahaha Schedule 40 Nom. Pipe Size (in) O.D. Average I.D.4" *** 4.500 3.9985" 5.563 5.0166" * 6.625 6.0318" * 8.625 7.94210" * 10.750 9.976 12" * 12.750 11.88914" * 14.000 13.07316" * 16.000 14.94018" * 18.000 16.80920" * 20.000 18.74324" * 24.000 22.544
October 3, 201014 yr Only ID and OD i could tell you is of the 4" PVC non pressure. The ID is 4" and the OD is 4.25" OD. I just used PVC for my aeroports the other day.
October 3, 201014 yr like the way those flanges look , what is the radius on those , how thick is the flange , wil there be predlilled holes that look good ?
October 3, 201014 yr Author Flare radius is 50mm, I need to measure the thickness, it's something I never measured. Predrilled holes aren't a problem, I only need to know where you need them. The versions in the pictures don't have wide mounting flanges, that's something I'm working on including on order. Pipe sizes are not so great news. They are opposite of european standards (8" pipe is 8" OD, not ID) so I will need new molds. This will delay things a bit
October 3, 201014 yr I'm european so no need for that ...I'll PM you tomorrow .... see what can be done
October 3, 201014 yr Author No problem, PM anytime you want.I should have added that pipe sizing delays things only for the people in the US who want flares
October 3, 201014 yr Admin If anyone has any hesitation, they shouldn't. Adrian is one of the most humble people I have ever know. I like the name of Euroports, but Adrian should call his brand Humble Port as he has proven to be quite experienced and knowledgeable but does not flaunt it or brag.
October 3, 201014 yr Duran wants...but I can wait a bit to start the build, probably won't commence till spring '11.
October 5, 201014 yr Author If anyone has any hesitation, they shouldn't. Adrian is one of the most humble people I have ever know. I like the name of Euroports, but Adrian should call his brand Humble Port as he has proven to be quite experienced and knowledgeable but does not flaunt it or brag. I don't have a specific preference for the name, to be honest before you mentioned Europort I only thought of one name Duran, you will have them for sure. I just cleared up a small portion of one garage and it's heated so I'll have no problems making them during winter
July 18, 201114 yr Author After being caught up with other work for too long, it's time for these !!!I have a free week to build the molds and I want to ask again about the pipe used. Schedule 40 PVC or Sonotube ?The nice part about Schedule 40 is that it's standard and has only slight variations from the standard so the flares will fit on it without concerns. Any advantages to Sonotube, apart from cost ? From what I can gather it varies a lot and I don't want people to have a very hard time finding tube for the flares. I really want some opinions on these since once I start the mold there's no turning back.
July 18, 201114 yr i can probably say pvc would be better.I've came across form tubes here that vary as much as 0.75" (~18mm) for the same rated size. That's unacceptable.
