I just want to make sure I have this right.

right now I have (2) 4-ohm 10's in my doors ( one 10" in each door). one 10 on channel three and one on channel 4. (channels one and two are occupied by my tweeters and horns and I'm good there).

now, I want to replace them with two sundown neo-pro 10's which are 8ohm. am I correct in thinking that I can wire them together down to 4ohm and then bridge them on channels 3 and 4 to get the most power out of my 100.4? how much rms will that amp produce to those channels in that configuration?

The amp is rated 320wrms bridged into 4 ohms and with both speakers connected each will see 160wrms, but I really don't think you need to put that much power to them first of all and second bridging the amp to the speakers will ruin the stereo image since it is a mono signal at that point.

I'd go ahead and leave them hooked up normally, they'll still get plenty loud and it won't ruin the stereo image either.

explain stereo Image? With the PA mids I have in there now (which are running at over 100 wrms), I'm afraid cutting the rms in half with the sundowns that I wont be satisfied.

With how efficient the neos are wiring them one on each channel should give you plenty of power to make them loud and keep it in a stereo output.

Having a separation of left & right, wiring bridged would be a mono signal.

The stereo image is the sound "image" you hear with certain instruments, effects or singers on the left side of the stage with other instruments, effects or singers on the right side of the stage. For most music to sound right it takes a blend of the left and right from their perspective sides for the right image.

There's a lot more to it than that, but the simplest explanation I can come up with is FM radio. Most HU's have an "ST" indicator on the display and if you've ever listened to a station where that indicator goes off and on and the difference in the sound of the music when it does so is the difference between listening to a stereo signal and a mono signal.

oh ok, I understand then. does anyone know the sensitivity rating on the sundowns? I did not see them on the T/S specs. so there is no other way to get more power to them while still retaining the stereo image correct?

ah ok so say I got a SAX 125.2 for the tweets and horns, then with the 100.4 free, I could bridge one 10 across channel 1&2 and the second 10 across channel 3&4. got it. That will keep the stereo Image on everything and how much power on the 10's?

About 160 to each 10.

Option 1 is the best way to go, and with that much power on tap to those neo's they'll get more than loud enough.

ok, one more question. both horns and both tweeters are 8ohm. how would I go about wiring them to the 125.2 for the best results?

Wire your left horn plus left tweeter to channel 1 and your right horn plus right tweeter to channel 2. Each channel will see a 4 ohm load, sending each speaker 60 watts give or take.

What tweeters do you have? Do you think they will be audible recieving the same power as those horns considering their efficiency?
