March 9, 201213 yr Author That's what the dual 8 gauge inputs are for... Plug the dual 8ga. inputs into the speaker terminals, not the ampSo your saying plug the metal block into the amp or ? Mybad if I don't get it I'm reading fast as I'm on my way to class. I posted on his page I'm just waiting for a response. Do you remember what they cost? Edited March 9, 201213 yr by Fearz
March 10, 201213 yr Author 12g for me, anybigger and you can't fit it into the inputs on the subsWhich subs?
March 10, 201213 yr Which subs? I think you mean what amp? I don't think I've used anything other than 12ga. Whether at 3000 watts or 1000.
March 10, 201213 yr I apologize. It just occurred to me that you could be concerned with fitment into terminals rather than amperage loads!
March 10, 201213 yr Author Which subs? I think you mean what amp? I don't think I've used anything other than 12ga. Whether at 3000 watts or 1000.My friend found a guy that bought the 8 gauge from him. He asked me and i told him sell it because It might not work for me. So I'm thinking of going 10 or 12 gauge. The inputs on my amp look tiny. If I get 12 gauge I could do double runs it I can get them to fit. I'm not worried about the subs fitting just the amp.

March 10, 201213 yr This is quite useless. Do any of you realize how small the wire is that makes up your voice coil?
March 10, 201213 yr My guess would be something like 24awg But if he wants it to fit directly into his amp without any shaving or any reducers, which he appears to want, then I'm all for helping him out.Personally, I would have taken the free wire and just shaved it down...

Like you said I just want something that fits in the amp.
March 10, 201213 yr This is quite useless. Do any of you realize how small the wire is that makes up your voice coil?Does that mean you have to use the same guage wire as speaker wires?Do you know the size of the wire inside of your alt? Then why would you ever need 0guage wire? The subs voicecoil has cooling built in and it has no plastic to melt.
March 10, 201213 yr I asked Geoff https://www.facebook.com/AudioAnonymous?ref=ts about cramming 2 wires into the speaker terminals and he sent me these DUAL 8ga inputs. He custom makes anything to fit anything, reducers of all sizes, whatever. The link is his fb page and this is his online store http://teamprojectdb.com/ . The facebook is the best way, and if he has any questions, or you have any, you can talk it out! He has been in the game for a while and seen it all! Good stuff!

March 10, 201213 yr Typically the longer the wire is the bigger I like it, the shorter it doesnt matter much. Its not gonna be a big deal either way
March 10, 201213 yr Anything over 12 gauge wire is a waste of money! That's why I run 1/0 gauge to me tweeters.
March 10, 201213 yr Anything over 12 gauge wire is a waste of money! That's why I run 1/0 gauge to me tweeters. You do.
March 10, 201213 yr I have the same amp, 12 gauge is a good fit. Might be able to squeeze 10 gauge if you tried.
March 10, 201213 yr I have the same amp, 12 gauge is a good fit. Might be able to squeeze 10 gauge if you tried. Why do you need to go bigger than 12gauge?

March 11, 201213 yr I don't want to do any shaving mainly because I don't know how.Well it appears like it's too late, but for next time... it's about as simple as can be. Take the wire. Take a utility knife/razor blade. Start hacking at it until it fits. Simple!
March 11, 201213 yr This is quite useless. Do any of you realize how small the wire is that makes up your voice coil?Your point? The filament inside a light bulb is tiny but you don't see me wiring a light socket with telephone wire.
