June 12, 201312 yr Author lucky ... your highway looks amazing .... try that in NJ or NYC ... lmaoWe are actually known for some of the worst roads in the US Luckily they have been repaving this highway shown this month haha! But yes, during the day there is no traffic compared to Larger cities. I live about 20 miles outside KC

June 12, 201312 yr Popular Post "stupid is as stupid does" You will understand once you see someone you know splatted all over the highway because someone wanted to be cool.
June 17, 201312 yr Know a lot of military buddies that died doing stuff like this on public road. Definitely not my thing...
June 18, 201312 yr How frigging fast is this? You guys are cruising past traffic, this would win a Darwin award...
June 19, 201312 yr I rode while I was in the service nearly every day, it's a ton of fun, but you really don't learn restraint until you see one of your friends that looks like he was put through a meat grinder and won't be getting up to get his kids ready for school tomorrow. It's just fucking stupid.
June 19, 201312 yr I'm curious how many of you are against what he's doing because he runs the risk of crashing and harming others in the process, or simply because he might crash and harm himself? I certainly agree that it's idiotic to put other lives at risk for one's self enjoyment, but if risking one's own life for enjoyment doesn't risk others in the process then who are any of you to judge them?

It is all the other people he will harm and even kill when things go wrong. Trust me there is nothing more life changing than seeing some one on a bike tear through a minivan killing the kids in the back seat and mother in the front seat, all while the father is helpless trapped and can't get to his family. Yes that really happened. I was there.

June 19, 201312 yr Nothing is truly a "risk only to one's self". If he's hurt or worse, his family will be the ones suffering for it, not him. Either way, if he wants to do this on a private/abandoned runway, go for it, but on a public road... it's just a danger to others as well as himself.

People who do that shit on tracks or closed courses, go for it. On a highway with traffic, no it should absolutely not be done.
June 19, 201312 yr doesn't look like he's going that fast really....don't see how he's going to harm someone by hitting them(not saying that it couldn't happen because it can). Maybe if the car overcorrects and flips or somethingThose stand up balance wheelies aren't that dangerous Now if he was flying through traffic going 150 that's a different story

Chain reaction.

Chain reaction.^^ this. I've ridden for years and yes a wheelie is fairly easy to do, except for unseen circumstances. The one thing I've learned is that no matter how good you are, everyone else sucks. People see wheelies and swerve. Are they stupid? Absolutely. Are they wrong? Of course. Are you still up shit creek without a paddle? Yep, dead is dead. Makes no difference who was right. Ever hit a dirt patch and slip a little? What happens when only one wheel is on the ground and that slip lays your ass out? All cars around you are affected. It's just stupid. Stunting in a parking lot is no big deal, closed track, no big deal. Nothing should be done in traffic but normal riding.
