That horn body is MASSIVE!  Let me know how you like your new amp.

I ended up not installing the amp. Makes no sense to buy two amps when the end goal is a 6 channel amplifier. I tried to install it and the 4 gauge wasnt big enough for my oversized Knu wire. I didn't want to trim the wire and didn't have ferrules at the moment; plus I didn't want to be without music. So I put the SSA amp back in for now.

D'Amore amp is up for sale.

New Mids Alert!

Crescendo UN6.5

I also treated my door panels with the leftover second skin mat.

Passenger door was done here. I will finish the Driver door and install Crescendo mids in the am.

How do you like the "pro-style" mids?  I've heard most of them have no response below 100Hz.

I personally love the pro style mids for their dynamics but to find the right one is kinda tricky. The more notable brands like B&C, Beyma, 18Sound, Ciare all make drivers that play below 100hz even Eric Stevens new mids play low.. not component or midbass low but lower then most other pro style mids. A lot of them do sound hollow; or just lacking in overall acoustics. Then there are some that have depth and that full warm sound to them with some extra details.

Most PA speakers are only meant to do their damage in the upper frequency ranges and that's why the sensitivity numbers are skewed and people think they are better drivers vs car audio speakers. But honestly most of those drivers don't have good accuracy or tonality. You'll see specs like 120-15,000hz frequency range for a mid; you know to stay away from these drivers.

More pictures of the enclosure being made by my box guy; same who built my enclosure for my SSA Icon 15" about 5 year ago. Same box from my avatar picture of my profile; setup was in my last car the 1997 Acura RL.

Adding rear speakers to factory locations in my rear doors so I ran some Knuconcept's 16 gauge wire I had laying around. Ziptied to factory wiring runs for a cleaner look.

Two Crescendo mids for the rear doors showed up today; I need to make some rings for the rear doors before they get installed.

Bought some better mounting hardware than the screws I used which scratched my hands up when installing since the ends were exposed. I was rushing the install and wanted to use what I had on hand; haha you live and you learn. I will be purchasing a Dremel soon to clean up the area of the horn bodies that I had to cut.

My builder was at finals this weekend so the box progress slowed down some towards the middle of last week. Today it received body work and was sanded so it's prepared for bed liner.

Enclosure will be covered in bed liner to match the battery box already in the trunk. The port will be painted white and hopefully it will pop with the blue LED trunk light.

WOW! Haven't been on this forum in a LONG time! Your setup has come a LONG way brother. Very Nice!

How much leg room did those HLCD drivers take away?

Thanks man I appreciate it. That dont take up that much leg room since my dash is kind of high but I wear a size 12 and my left foot doesnt get to fully extend in its normal resting position like I was able to before. But its not the end of the world for me. The only reason why my foot is hindered on space is the fact my car has knee airbags so I had to mount my horns upside down with the actual speaker magnets on the bottom side. If they were mounted normally, I wouldnt have any issues with leg or foot room.

12s arent that impressive, yes they get loud and arent too bad. But I must admit I love the sound of Fi's subwoofers and already put an order in for another 15" on their new NEO lines.

Sundown subs and box are gone and trunk is empty again. Fi sub is being made now and so is my new enclosure. I finally got around to using my SoundSkins Rings V3 on my front door speakers; they are way better than the Stinger fast rings and helped with the sound.
