Posted December 21, 20177 yr Hey y’all friend wanted to add some bump to his truck so I suggested some Soundqubed hds2.108s. He got them on sale so now I’m gonna go ahead and attempt cool build.
December 21, 20177 yr Author Popular Post Box is 51” wide 17” deep back height I pushed 6 1/4 and the front is 11”. I was having the hardest time with the port. I really was shooting for 15 square inches. But it just wouldn’t work. So I opted to shrink it to about 12 in per cube. After displacement it it comes out to 2.5 tunes to 33hz.
December 21, 20177 yr Author A question for y’all. Where would you recommend firing the port? Behind the driver side or passenger side? He wants it loud. One side will have two subs and the side with the port will have a sub right above it. Thanks for the input guys

And hopefully I’ll wake up to some inputs on which side I should fire the port. I’m leaning more towards the driver side, so that way he feels the air moving which in turn will make him think it’s a loud ass system lol
December 21, 20177 yr If he plans to compete, fire passenger side. If he's the only one that rides in the truck most of the time and just wants to enjoy himself, fire towards the driver side. Also in a truck situation where you're side firing I personally would rather see between 10 and 12 square inches per Cube rather than 13 to 15. So 12 should sound awesome.
December 21, 20177 yr Author Oh wow! Thanks for the input. And the recommendation on port area. I was trying to follow the Soundqubed recommendation which was around 16”. But glad to know you approve of it. Gonna wrap it up today I’ll post some pics. Later

And he probably will have passengers with him but I’m sure he would rather have the best seat in the house than his passengers lol.
December 22, 20177 yr Author Popular Post All done. Gonna let it sit over night then put the subs in to hear how it sounds.

Hits low and has a good range of bass. It’s hard to say exactly because it is outside a car so it doesn’t sound as in your face as I’d like but as I went in to the house it could deffinetly be felt. All in all I like it. I’ll have a more concerte answer for y’all when I get it into his truck i got it runnning off a taramps 10k 2 ohm version. So I wired it to 4ohm. So it should be seeing round 5k. I thought I’d have to baby it so I kept the bass knob half way and I played music a lot lower than I would of o was to blast it. But it didn’t really move so I upped the volume and it began to wake up. So I was curious to see what’ll happen so I turned my knob all the way lol and it took it. Through a few different songs at that. Not once did I feel like it started to over work itself.
December 23, 20177 yr Author Thank you thank you. Just trying to get my reps up lol. Can’t get better if I don’t expand my horizon. Plus I been searching high and low for a enclosure like this but their hard to come by. And the ones I did find weren’t very through so I just had to be the change I want to see. Hopefully it gives someone else who’s considering this a better starting point.
