Okay, my buddy wants to put some stuff in his boat and I really have no idea here. I'm looking for some help. MY best guess would be to treat it like a convertible automobile which means high efficiency and loads of power. Now, this has to be rather budget friendly. He has a Sony HU, all I need is some subbass and some CHEAP drivers to handle the rest of it. I will probably go with a line array of some sort running horizontally throughout the boat. Now, amplifiers is my biggest concern. Being a wet environment, I am wary about this. I know there are marine specific components, but browsing through some, they appear to be nothing more than a traditional component pa…

  5. yeah, so today i stopped by my local audio pawn shop today to see what they would give me for the rims on my truck. and of course, as soon as the owner of the shop walked up to my truck, he seen the big ass magnet of the zcon between the seats and wanted a demo.as usual, i got the " ssa audio?? iv never heard of them" so i cranked her up for him and he was very surprised to hear all that bass form 1 15. he then said he was going to look into ssa for his own personal set-up haha. i just wanted to share another one of my "ssa audio??" stories with you guys

When you start a new project, do you set a budget? Do you lay out how much you are willing to spend for each piece of the system? Do you usually wind up adjusting those numbers? Have you gone, or are you, overbudget right now? If so, why? - Steve

Thank you so much bud for your very generous donation! Just to inform everyone, Gfronty sent me a bass knob and cord from New York all the way down to Texas for O, ZIP, NADA, ZERO! I couldn't believe it.....he didn't even let me pay him for the shipping, now thats why Im a proud to be a part of SSA. And to think of how bad the economy is, people still go way out of there way to help out others, so "THANK YOU SO MUCH GFRONTY!"

My buddy in Atlanta just started his own Internet Audio Store. Here is the link. Unfortunately the site is still being worked on so there is not much there. It will get better with time though! http://www.autosoundconcepts.com/ He can get just about anything (trust me, I have had him quote some pretty funky stuff ) If you need anything just give him an email and he will do his best to answer your question or get you a price. By the way, he goes off for his Marine Reserve 2 week duty the 15th of Sept so he won't be around to answer emails.

Ok, when I bought my speaker from my friend he gave it to me in this small, crappy made sealed enclosure and i need to take the apeaker out, not necessarily right away, but eventually it needs to come out, but the problem is is that 3 of the 8 screws are stripped, so i need a way to take it out without damaging it, o and the surround is made of metal not rubber. Any ideas?

  18. Hi soundsolutions it has been a while. Life has kept me extremely busy with school and work and not to mention I now have a baby girl on the way. I had a SSD 15" and a zx750 and I ended up selling the sub for rims and traded the 750 for a t-1000 which ended up toasting itself somehow.. long story short I have nothing.. I really don't want to spend more than $300 for the sub(s) and amp because I am strapped for cash and I just want some kind of low end nothing crazy. Size is somewhat of a issue, the 15 took up my whole trunk and I can't afford not to have trunk space anymore so a single 10" or 12" with like 4-500rms would be optimal. I will be building the box myself depen…

I have this picture that someone suggested i use for my chit, but my sub doesn't hit hardly with these settings Something else i don't get is, the screw is one long line and one shorter line, which is suppose to line up with these arrows?

I think I finally decided on a set up. Please tell me if this is optimal for my situation or if im going overboard. The car is a bmw 5 series, the sub will be in the trunk. The trunks tend to be sealed very well in these cars so I need the sub to penetrate. I listen to mainly hippity hop and rap. I want the best of both worlds trunk space left and good sound. 10" ICON ported box probably built to specs of the optimal one in the tech section sax1200d what do you guys think. The only thing I was thinking to change was to go with a cheaper amp. Any reccomendations?

well, its all coming together now. I should be receiving my CDT stuff on Sept 8th and hopefully the site and all will be up and running by then. So if you're interested in some good speakers contact me. I'll get some special for SSA members who are regulars here,...100posts or more. And does anyone know any good links for things like imaging, gains, and frequency charts? I would like to have my website be a place of alot of knowledge so people can go there and get their questions answered.
