I've been enjoying my old school set up, Powered by Old School Precision Power PC2150 for sub duty and a PC275 for my mids and highs, both amps are from 1997 never been repaired original void stickers still in tacked. I'm running 2 NOS 12'' Rockford Fosgate P1's, there the ones with a big plastic cover over the magnet, to make the magnets look big, sealed boxes. Let me tell you those subs sound incredible with those old school PPI amps. My head unit is an old school Alpine CDA - 7965 year 2001 sound quality deck, has no deck power, you can only use amplifiers with this deck. I'm running a Tsanmi 40 FARID CAP. I have a old school Audio Control cross over in the glove …

Hey guys I’m building a sub box for a friend. He has a 98’ Camry and wants to fit a 15” T1 in there. My question is what’s the best sub orientation for a trunk setup. I have Sounds in my Altima but I got port and sub firing into the cabin. My friend doesn’t wanna leave his seats down so he asked to have it both firing backwards. Is subs and port back best for a trunk set up? Or is sub up port back works better? I even seen people saying sub up port to the side is really good. But I’m building the box the total usable width so I don’t wanna fire the port right against a wall. Thanks for the input as always guys.

I'm planning a box for a trunk setup w/ folding rear seat. The subwoofer will be facing the rear and port at the rear or side, and enclosure moved as close to the cabin. What is the rule on height and width clearance of the enclosure in relation to the rear deck and side panels? Is there supposed to be space in between? Can either be flush?

Got a quick question. What does multiple runs of power cable front to back do? Does it increase voltage or help handle the amount of power being pulled from your rear battery back? I ask because I’ve had the fuse holder near the front battery melt a while back. Everything has been good for the past few months. And this just happened. So I cut off the melted part of the wire and put a new fuse holder in. And recently it’s done it again. Ive read that maybe the wire can’t handle the heat or whatever so it starts to melt. Will multiple runs of 1/0 awg help with this problem or would it be wise to just run a 2/0. My my system consists of a second battl…

Well, It's been a while since I've been on here. Graduated college and disappeared from the scene to start a career, which lead me to 3 states in 3 years. Finally got a vehicle I've always wanted: an SUV! Picked up an Alpine MRX-M100 on Craigslist for $50, and just bought a new Fi Alpha v2 15 yesterday (hopefully that comes in before the new year). Definitely won't be as heavily involved in the SPL scene as I was years ago, but I think I might just make something to have some fun with at a couple of competitions next summer. Here is my plan so far, and I would like input/feedback for anyone that has worked with a Renegade before: 800-900 wrms realisticall…

Hello all, I have been away from the forums for some time since graduating college and started working again. Now that I have some money to finally move away from these seemingly low powered setups (6 systems since 2012), I am looking for help with my wall build. I am going to be building the base to the wall in my 2016 Ford Focus sedan in a week or two, and there is a lot of room to work with (over 30 cubes). I will be running 2 18" ZCONs on (undecided) either a 5.5k or 6.5k amp with supporting electrical (batt bank, lots of OFC wire, and HO alt). This is my daily, and I just want a ground pounder with no care to what numbers it'll put up in the lanes. I would like to de…

Hi, I am trying to decide between 2 icon 12"s or 1 icon 15" I will be powering with a taramp HD3000.1 around 1500RMS. I am trying to keep my box size down. On the 15" it gives a 3 cu ft ported box, and a 4 cu ft ported box. How much difference in SQ and performance would I see if I used the 3 cu ft vs the 4? also Could I maybe split the difference? 3.5 cu ft? I can do 4, just was hoping I could make it a little smaller. I don't know if I am going to have the room for 2 12"s so that's why I was thinking of one 15" but would I be better off SQ wise to do 2 12"s? Thanks!

Hey guys I built a box for my zv5 15 and used an 8" sonotube because of the port area and how aero port don't take up as much air space as a slot. A buddy of mines saw my set up and questioned if that port was too big for my box. i came to the conclusion of using and 8" port by doing some math and finding the port area. Which is 50" a little less than the recommended port area on the sundown website. But I'm assuming that's a slot port and I've read areonports require less port area than a slot so I guessed I was in the green. But after my friend brought it up I researched and found a site that said 6" is good for a 3.5 to 4.5 box. So I'm here asking for your …

Okay new to the site. Just ordered two ICON 12's and they should be here in 3 weeks. I'm working on a ported box and needed some input if someone is willing to help. I've gone on torresbox calculator and I came up with some dimensions and would like to know what everyone thinks. Or if anyone has any suggestions. I want SQ but not where it would sacrifice SPL. It's going in an 08' Escalade. I'm pushing with a SoundQubed 2200. I have two sets of Hertz HSK 165's for up front on a PPI 900.4. I have two new Duracell Marine batteries and just did the Big 3 upgrade. Just really want to know what everyone thinks on my dimensions and how I should face the subs and port. …

Looking for some help with an enclosure for a 15" xcon... I could go sealed but I need the help of you gurus to figure out how to get it ported Currently I have the Xcon in an enclosure that is roughly: 32" w x 17" h x 15" deep ... I have a 2016 Mazda3 hatch. My max dimensions for depth is 19.5" but that's only keeping a flat wall, I'm wondering what can be done about having the enclosure sort of follow the back of seats at the present angle. Like so but less aggressive of an angle obviously...: So my hopes for the enclosure are: 1. Ported - 6" PSP port 2. Max dimesnions would be W-26" H-20" D1(top side)-19" D2(bottom side)- about 2…

New to car audio here. I recently purchased a SoundQubed HDS312 and SoundQubed Q1-1200.2 amp and plan on building my own box. It will be wired to 1ohm and installed in a 2006 Trailblazer. My question has to do with port firing direction, this is a work truck constantly filled with tools and I would like the sub to be facing up so it doesn't get damaged, and have the port facing the rear or both facing up. I've created two boxes both 2.49 cubic feet at 33.48hz: Any input would be greatly appreciated.

I'm having trouble getting the right mass to tune a PR enclosure I got ~1200 grams when I used a calculator online but 158 grams when I used the mass of the air in the port as my starting point. I feel like i'm missing something. i'm aiming for 8cu @ 26hz with a single 18" and two 18" PR's What do I need to do to get the correct calculation? The reading seems straightforward but I keep getting these two opposing answers. Thanks, -Chris

I'm afraid of my port being too long.i am by no means an expert but here is what I got... 1 team fi 18v2- 1 scv 4000 a couple of extra battery's 130 amp alt stock "mechman 270 soon" big 3-dual runs of 0 through out my box whic isnt built yet is 24t-24d-44w with a slot port 22.5x6" I'm wanting to tune to 28 for lows. I want it to be fairly loud but it's no big deal if it isn't I just don't want a boomy box tuned to 40 lol. Any way with a tuning of 28 and that size box I figured around 12 cubes before port-and with the port being 46 or so inches long I'll land near 8cubes after port. which puts me near 28 hearts or so... problem is with a port that long will I run into reso…

What I want for my doors is beyond my fabrication capabilities, so I'm considering looking for a fabricator in the chicagoland area to do them up for me. I was hoping you guys could give me an idea of what to expect it to cost, as well as throw me some names of reputable shops. I'm going to have them put 12's in my doors. I'm going to try a two way with the Dayton AMT-Pro's. I'm not opposed to working with someone from the board either! I sent a few emails to places I found on Google, but not many reviews to be seen. Thanks guys.

Got a new car and want to run the single biggest FI BTL NEO I can fit. I have measured my trunk and I have 32x32x18 to work with, the car is a 2012 chevy cruze LTZ. My question is, about how big of a box I can use. I'm thinking I could possibly fit 1 15" at 4-5 cubes but I'm no box builder. I would love to run 1 18" inch but the btl requires 6-8 cubic foot so I doubt it would fit.

What are some easy ways you guys have used to gain DB's. Like myself, I found my old camaro did a few tenths better, with the hatch cracked, and the windows cracked, and the glove box open. Just curious what you guys have tried to gain those few tenths.
