I THINK ITS A REAL SHAME THAT TEXAS BASS PRODUCTION GIVES ITS PLAYERS A FALSE SENSE OF SECURITY MAKING THEM THINK THEY ARE BETTER THAN THEY REALLY ARE BECAUSE IF THEY WERE TO GO TO A USACI OR IASCA EVENT THEY WOULD HAVE THEIR ASS HANDED TO THEM BY THE HEAVY HITTERS AND LORD BACCUS IF YOU WANT A RING GO TO SOUTH PADRE AND EARN ONE... okay guys, i am lookin to build a new box for my 2 12" kicker cvr's, i am wanting around 34hz for tuning and here are the dimensions i have to work with, 39"w x 17"h x 17.5"d and plans would be great i am either looking for the port and subs facing the same direction or subs foward firing and port side firing, any plans would be nice, and i am looking for a slot port, i am not going to mess with a pipe since i dont have a hole saw, thanks in advance.

  3. Ok I've had subs before but nothing too fancy just some 12" kicker cvxs in a ported box and running a 1200W (i think) MTX amp. Well i sold that and now I want something new. I have a 2001 Hyundai Elantra and don't care about trunk space so if the subs take up the whole trunk so be it. The thing is my budget is $1000 and I don't want to upgrade my electrical or get very technical with my system. I listen to mainly electronic music (trance, house, etc..) and rap/hip hop once in a while. Now i've read here that if your going for a SQ setup your not going for loud. I understand this, but since I do listen to rap/hip hop does this mean I am not going to be able to enjoy …

I want you guys to post things here such as materials and bracing methods used to create the stiffest, non-flex box out there and how it's done. I'm tryin to find some materials so when i go to tear down my wall that i have something to fall back on. I've came across this but the comments are up in the air... Some competitors say it's good... others who haven't used it say it won't hold up... Durock... I had visioned on using 5 layers of 5\16" thick in between 2 layers of 0.75" MDF = approximately 3" thick total material. Then cross brace it with - 0.75" all-thread. Now, i'm looking for the stiffest out there... I had read to pour resin in, on and around each Durock lay…

  5. In this episode of "Car Audio Fabrication" I share the proper way to utilize T-Nuts in an install. The advantages of T Nuts are as follows: Screws can be removed several times if you need to access the inside of the enclosure with no worry of srtipping or degrading the thread quality (like what would occur with wood screws into wood)More secure mounting, they cannot be pulled loose from the mounting surface as occurs with wood screws.Other notes: Adding a dab of super glue before securing the t nut to the wood can prevent them from falling into the enclosure before installing. Using a size down from the shank of the t nut for your drill hole allows for a tighter squ…

  6. i just finished my 5 CuFt box for my fi bl 15 and i used just about every square inch of my MDF wood i had for the box. my question is if its ok to use 3/4 inch plywood for my second baffle? i have a bunch lying around and would be nice instead of buying a huge sheet of MDF i would barely use. lemme know what u guys think! Thanks!!

I am currently trying to make my doors more rigid. I was going to use 1/8" thick aluminum bars but I do not want to weld them to my door skin as I will have to repaint my car. I was told I could use pl premium but I have no way of clamping them down for 24 hours. Here is my solution I was going to just coat the inner skin of the doors with multiple layers of fiberglass. To get this to stick to the skin I am kind of clueless. Would sanding the door with a heavy grit prior to fiberglassing be enough?

Does anyone know anything about designing a bandpass box. I have a pair of 12 w6s in a ported box w 2 6 inch areo ports tuned to 44 hz and a jl 1000/1. I can do 143.4 db at a 48-50 hz tone. Im trying to get in the uper 140s without reaching the 2500-4000 watt amplifier range. Any help on design principals or general advise on how to get louder would be greatly appreciated.

  12. I would like some input on building an enclosure for 2 ZCON 15D2's. The max cubes available for the box is 7(3.5 per sub) after displacements. I want to tune at 31hz. I have seen the recommendations SSA's site for enclosures but would like to have some outside information on how well these will do in 7 cubes . They will be running off a SAZ3500 at .5ohms. Thanks.

I have a desired tuning frequency that I want but I will have two ports...I think. The best example I could find is in the Stealth Avalanche build, basically the same idea he did but in a different vehicle and different subs, bit more air space. Here is what it looks like. As you can see, there is a port with a partition in between. So my question is, how do I figure out what to tune too. Do I tune each port to what I want the tuning to be...do I need to do some calculating and figure it out through equations....I could use some help on this subject. Also how does this type of enclosure work since the port is firing directly in front of the subs? I would assume there …

So, as you guys know, I'm an SPL nut. But as of lately I'm getting pretty tired of the completely bone stock setup in my daily driver. I had been talking about doing a nice install for a while, but frankly don't really know where to begin. I was talking to a buddy of mine (former IASCA SQ competitor), and he was talking about doing some A-pillars with 3" mids and tweeters and then doing some 7" midbasses in the doors. Frankly, I have no idea how that would work or what equipment to look at. I even thought about just going basic with some nice components in the doors (tweeter and 6.5"), and then maybe getting a little fancy with some 8" woofer kickpods to go along with a…

Ok well I have a few questions when it comes to the proper way to decide on the amount of port are that you should use when it comes to designing ported boxes and 4th order enclosures . I have been hearing mixed " opinions " when it comes to picking the amount of port area needed . The most common way I have heard about is staying in between 12 - 16 sq inches of port per cube. Which in my opinion is not a very accurate way to design an enclosure . The other way that have been told is that you adjust your port area according to the xmax or linear max on your woofer. Which sounds to be a more accurate way in to better suit a build. So if anyone knows the actual proper way t…

So here it goes I seen a thread where someone used two of these for this but I have lost it and cannot find it. I am interested in doing one of these setups in a sunfire. I have a15" soundsplinter Rlp but don't want to take up the trunk with a large enclosure. The IB setup would leave trunk space and be pretty cheap as far as the woofers go. I have a sundown 1500 SAZ to power them and know I would have to be vergil with gain settings......anyway any input is much appreciated. I have read the thread from Onebadmonte twice now and I think this should work good just looking for extra info before I order the woofers.

I was installing a simple Hu in a 2006 Sonata and the four screws that hold the oem radio in WILL NOT turn. I can usually do it with my trusty screwdriver but no luck. So I got out our 14.4v Black & Decker with a mostly charged battery and it couldn't turn them either. My dad says I need to drill them out but I'm not sure how to to that. They're semi-stripped now too so yeah. Any help would be appreciated.

I would like to know where I can get some MDF for a temporary/test enclosure I plan to build, I don't care how cheap or low in quality it is, since this will only be a test enclosure, I live in southern wisconsin, if you know of any stores here or any online shops that are cheap let me know. This will be for my 15" xcon for a temporary sealed enclosure for now, and after I get it in its new enclosure I will use this box for future testing purposes. i did do a quick search through the forums and I got zero results, kinda weird.
