So we are bringing it back again. This is how it works. 1) You e-mail me with what you have ([email protected]) -- it MUST BE a working amplifier (no speakers, no blown amps, nothing else). 2) I tell you if I will accept this item and how much credit I will give for it. I base this on forum and e-bay resale values AND my own records of used item sales. If you are going to get offended by an offer then please don't contact me - I have *extensive* used item re-sale experience from the previous trade-in program so I am very familiar with what I can ACTUALLY get for used items. 3) You either accept or deny my offer... if you accept the offer you then ship the item in …

I know alot of folks have a hard time understanding my explanation of this all in text format; so lets visualize it based on some Klippel results. I had the first Z v.4 15" prototype Klippel tested; as explained on the image the production model will test even better since I did a hyper-extended pole compared to the standard height pole extension on the sample but I haven't had a chance to actually re-do the test -- but I have verified in FEA and via doing similar comparisons with Klippel on other drivers with the same changes what the result would be. The SA-12 is a production unit -- and most people know how an SA-12 sounds; and most people love it. It has what I woul…

Our ETA is roughly the end of June on these; as always this can vary a bit based on parts supplier production times, transit times, customs times, etc. Based on our average shipping time that is our best estimate. That being said this pre-order will ONLY be open to the public until April 15th, 2013 -- OR until a given size / coil configuration sells 50% of the quantity being produced. I do not want to be out of stock instantly so we are running this much shorter than our other pre-orders. This pre-order is for the USA ONLY -- check with your distributor if you are outside of the USA; if you do NOT have a distributor in your country you can check with us. The below rates…

Just got them in and QC tested them all on the bench; very happy so far. Still need to get them fully charged then run preliminary specs (have to send them out to do so as our magnetizer isn't in yet) -- but we are still stiffening up the surrounds so those will only be ~80% accurate initially. This is also the first look at our tooled 18" spider adapter piece ! On to the photos (video of the 18" is uploading) :

As previously discussed I'm working on a 1000-watt line -- I've had motor samples for some time... now I have full samples with production equivalent soft parts on the way. As of now I still have work to do in order to dial the specs in just right -- I have another coil / gap variation to test with. I am getting a pair of samples as they sit in to test with the soft parts then I'll be testing the last variation... then likely will be ready to start making 12s at that time. Cosmetically looks nearly identical to the SA-12 with the exception of a 20mm wider magnet, a different spider for the 3" coil, and double tinsel leads. You will note it has the new ventilation / spacer…

Just showed up today. Need a bit of tweaking still (they don't have the stiffer surround on them yet, etc) but at least we have the first looks at them and our new terminal blocks too  * Z v.4 12 on the left and X-12 on the right. * Z v.4 12 on the left and X-12 on the right. * New terminal blocks ! * Z style spider -- these will feature one fewer layer than the Z models. Coil is also lighter on these but overall FS should be right at or slightly below the Z counterparts in stock format. * Essentially looks like a "mini-Z" style motor... 190mm magnet vs. 220mm on the Z series / 66mm tall stack vs. 75mm tall stack / thinner steel / less expensive round wir…

"This is our upcoming 1250 RMS line being tested free air with nearly 3x their rated power level -- I took it up a bit too far just as an example =) This was taken with a bit newer camera than previously used -- Canon Powershot Elph 16.1MP. The excursion looks a little weird in this video compared to other videos so not sure which camera I'll keep using in the future -- but hope you all enjoy !" From the video caption.

Been working on this guy for a while now... what I hope to be final prototypes just arrived a few days back. Based on our testing I am going with a 750 RMS rating on these. I won't say people will not be able to run more... but that is our official rating. They will cost $210 from an authorized dealer. Production models will, of course, have a gasket and magnet boot. ----- * Compared with SA-8 v.2 * Compared with SA-8 v.2 * Compared with X-6.5SW * Compared with X-6.5SW

Developing a 600-watt RMS 8" woofer with fully custom frame, cone, surround, spider, etc... Frame supports ~35mm one-way linear travel and the soft parts support that as well. Design is motor limited to 19mm linear one-way and 30mm before leaving the gap -- so it will be VERY difficult to reach mechanical limitations even by accident on SPL burps. The soft parts, frame, and so forth are VERY over-engineered to support any future motor designs I may desire to produce... meaning you may see a true high linear stroke "SQ" style design with these parts later on -- but first we are staying true to Sundown heritage and designing a super rugged "daily" woofer that will produce e…

I decided to go through our fabled "sea of woofers" and try to get some of this stuff sold... we hired a new guy, Pedro (my cousin), and he organized it a bit to make even thinking about selling it manageable. First... the fabled sea in a somewhat organized form... I cannot get it all in one photo but you get the idea : It goes farther left and right. On the the yard sale! I am not interested in re-building ANY of these items before shipping them out due to time contstraints -- refer to a service like FixMySpeakeror your favorite custom builder for that -- I can ship directly to either if you like. * TRF Motor and Basket - $350 shipped in continental 48 states * MIN…
