Right now I'm building a new box for one 8" sundown Sa-8 that I'll be using until I get another 1 or 2. My current box is tuned too high for my liking. How much square port area is recommended for these subs? What is the lowest you would recommend I tune the box to? Right now I'm tuned to 34 hz, between .75 and .85 cubes after displacement by messing with some dimensions, with 13 inches of square port area. Is this enough for one Sa-8? I don't want to make too big of a box for it per Jacob's recommendations. Thanks.

Went to a Texas Bass Productions event yesterday on Sunday and placed 1st in pro trunk by a mile. Did a 149.9 on 1st run Did a 150.1 on 2nd run Did a 150.9 on 3rd run No one else even close to me in a trunk car. I believe the next highest trunk car was a 146.x Every one couldn't believe I was using only 1 subwoofer. Their was a nice Dodge Magnum there with 4 American Bass 12" Subs with some 3000d amplifier. Was talking a little noise to me about his setup, and being the humble person I am I didnt say anything. He ended up doing a 148.6 to my 150.9. He was a little puzzled but was a good sport about it and shook my hand. Everyone is asking about the amps and where to get t…

From what i've read, bass boost only sends an ugly, distorted signal to the sub. So should bass boost be set to zero, and only use the wired gain remote? Also, when using the gain remote, does it override the settings you have on the actual amp (the Gain knob on the amp)? Also, bass should be set to zero on the head unit, correct? Edit: Talking about the Saz-1500d here

So guys i am getting a recone on my 15 to a pair of 12's, the subs in question are the NS v1. my question is how many spiders does the NS v1 normally come with? i ask b/c i will be running 2-saz2500 strapped to the 2-12's and someone mentions to me maybe i should get another spider added to the 12's so they can handle the amount of power? so my question again is do i need or shoudl i get another spider added to each sub or no would stock be enough. i plan to do a daily/ burp car but primary a daily setup application. thanks for viewing my thread and any input! Kenneth

when I first installed it, it got hot shortly after, not warm but hot. I though that was odd but left it alone. after of being in use for a few hours the next day it went into protection mode. I drove it to a near by shop, they checked it out and told me the amp was damaged, I did not bridged it, I hooked it up to a 10" sd-v1 (400rms) and I only used one channel so I have no idea what caused it to fail. I'm not sure if this amp was refurbished since I got it on sale? anyone know what I did wrong? Thank you.

Ok first off, I'll run down the equipment. A single SA-8 and a pair of mb quart 2000d's running at 2 ohms strapped. Box is a tommy k special. The note played for all the scores was 45 hz. First up is a picture of the meters. On the left is DC amperage draw for both amps, then AC amperage, then AC voltage. Do the math and that ends up being 2816 watts. I DO NOT RECOMMEND THIS! This amount of power pushed the sub HARD, to the point where the cone hit the basket. But I'm doing maximum SPL tests so I don't care …

Im about to purchase 2 of these amps Just was curious if they have an unregulated power supply. Also was wondering as to the general difference, if any, between the SAE series and the SAZ series as may upgrade to a single SAZ-3000D in the next year or so. Any helpful reviews of this amp would be awesome as well:D.

So I got the v.1 Nightshade up to 155.9 dB today on a 16v system -- right at 9.8kw clamped power. Used a slightly different coil but the cone / spider were the bone stock Nightshade parts... no pole plug of any kind used either. Not quite as good as the NS v.2 -- which did 156.1 on 12v on the same amps / same load... anxiously awaiting putting the v.2 in there on the 16v system I am hoping for 157+ from it ! Crappy pics of the sub... but I got the score : The coil is like the NS v.2 coil but only 50mm long... kind of a mix of the v.1 coil and the v.2 coil

Hey guys, I thought I'd start this topic before I istall everything to learn and get some info on how to do it. I bought 50.4 to run Image Dynamics CTX65CS in front and CTX6 in back. Then I grabbed 125.2 to run two Image Dynamics ID8''D4 v.3, both at 2ohm run on separate channel and Trevor at PTS is building ported box for them now. All of this will go to Pioneer 880PRS head unit. I know how to connect everything, I will pretty much get to the part where everytihing is connected and I start to wonder what the knobs on the amp do There's just so many of them any info would be nice....

New woofers from Sundown Audio... the first run, which is available now, is a test run to see how these woofers stand with customers. I really like them myself and am proud to offer them. These woofers are 100% made in the USA of as many USA sourced parts as possible in a top quality factory. Sundown Audio will be offering the same warranty on our speakers as our amps -- 2 years limited / 5 year discounted replacement and the same applies to these even if they do *not* stay on board as a permanent product. If these are well received more will be built and they will stay on board as a permanent addition. These will be one notch below the "E Series" woofers previously discu…

Hello. Some of you may know me from other forums. I just thought i would stop by and show off some sundown power! Ive been running Sundown in my Comp/Project vehicle for around 7 months. I compete regularly for the most part locally. The vehicle has now been retired due to the fact that I cant damage it anymore then it already has been. lol Im going to trade it back in for something new. Until then i have a few vehicles that im looking at to make a new project with. I will compete with the vehicle as well. So time is critical. I have to find prep and build in the next 3 weeks to make it without any gaps in the season. Anyways enough of my rant. lol. The vehicle…
