I have my 2 Saz-1500's strapped. I have 2 15" Fi BL subs. They have all the power options on them. Now when I set my gains with the DMM 77.5 volts - 5 volts for my headunit output i get the old smelly subs. Meaning when I turn the volume up i start to smell voice coil. So i turn the gain down a little bit and it seems like the subs aren't as loud as they were with my American Bass amp. So I turn the gain up just a little more and start to smell the voice coils again. It is almost like there is a magic area on the gain where I don't smell voice coil when turned up. I don't know it seems like the amps should be doing more than what they are doing. But when I turn …

I currently have installed in my 2006 QX56 an saz-1200d and a sa-15 d2 in a ported enclosure 3.45 ft cubed tuned to 35 hz. I have 0 gauge running to the back the big 3 all in 0 gauge. I have an xspower d5100r up front and a d680 on the way for the back, gets here today. My stock bose actually over plays my current set up so probably going to leave it like it is until I have to upgrade as everything ties into the stereo. I found a deal I could not pass up on a saz-1500d v2 and now have to attempt figuring out how to make the right upgrade to make my SUV pound. What would be a way of setting up a system with these 2 amps? I was thinking of several ways, but would …

I have a 2003 toyota tundra and I want 2 upgrade from (1) 18" btl and an orion 2500d - to - (2) saz-3000d's and (2) 18" btls. But toyota has a patent on the wire harness to the alternator! So I don't know if I can recharge a good sized power bank efficiently with the 130 amp stock alt.. Unless I get a solar panel on my roof! Will a red top optima batt. with 2 powermaster 3100 batt. be enough power for (2) 3000d's? I know i'll end up running through some alternators every year. I just want a daily driver but I still want full power potientail? Does any body know anything about upgrading toyota electrical systems?

Wanted to share my install with everyone on here because I have been reading your post and advice for a long time. Its a saz 1500 on two Kicker L7 10's in a sealed box internally fiberglassed for extra strength and also for better sound quality. Kicker was not my first choice of subs but its hard to find a 10 inch sub with shallow mount that can handle the 1500. Went forward firing because its the loudest application you can get in the titan and also because up or down firing limited mounting depth. Went through 4 brands of subs and swapped out a diamond audio d5 1200 for the Sundown before being happy not an easy truck to get great sound out of. Here are some pics.

T'm trying to find the right amp for these im stuck between the 125.2 and the 100.4. can i run those passive? ive never set a front stage up so ive been trying to find the differences between passive and active, can anyone explain or give me a link to read on this? i only have a minor understanding but want to learn! i looked on the 12volt but couldnt find anything, maybe i just cant find the right stuff i want? i would prefer the easier setup because of my inexperience, so im thinking passive on a 125.2, would that work and sound good? the porblems i can think of for active is if i got the 100.4 would that give too much to the tweeters, or would i be able to tune it d…

Exceptional customer service! I bought 2 Sa-12's locally but forgot to take my DMM with me so kinda took a risk buying them.. One came out to be dual 4 ohm which the guy "didn't know about".. Ohh well. My friend ordered a recone for me but put no adress and left out some necessary info. I get an email from Debbie at Sundown notifying me about it and asking me the info that was left out. Before my friend ordered it I asked Jacob questions on pricing and how about to order the recone.. Didn't take much for him to get back to me. For the amount of emails he receives and work he has to do to get things taken care of, I am impressed I love their CS and products. Will definat…

I tried to send you a PM in this site, but the system wouldn't allow me to send it because it says your box is full. Over in one of my threads in diymobileaudio.com you said you still had some of the original model SD-1 10" subs you'd sell me. I'd like to order a pair so please reply so we can arrange payment. Thanks. grampi

From what i've read, bass boost only sends an ugly, distorted signal to the sub. So should bass boost be set to zero, and only use the wired gain remote? Also, when using the gain remote, does it override the settings you have on the actual amp (the Gain knob on the amp)? Also, bass should be set to zero on the head unit, correct? Edit: Talking about the Saz-1500d here

So I am wanting to build a new box for my 3 sa10's mainly just to see what I can make these things do with different tunings and box volumes. They are pretty underpowered for now on an aq1200d at 1.33 ohms. My current box is 4 cubes net at 34hz. Just wondering if I should go down in volume or keep it the same? The main reason for building a new box is just for fun/practice I have the wood and time and want to try something different. I will build another new box when I get more power. Any tips or suggestions are appreciated! Thanks -Rick

wierd ? i have a saz 1500d and was wondering, if i smell a woofer going up in smoke should i be shutting it down to prevent dmg to my amps ? or am i ok to just let it go up in smoke and push it harder untill it goes all the way . i know about the protection built into the amps but that doesn't allways mean that i'd be ok. if it is considered ok to smoke subs without dammaging the amp, could you safely burn sub after sub after sub and still be ok. would love to here jakes take on this too. i would never even consider this with any other amp, but these sundown amps are soooo darn tough that it dawned on me it might be posible. how about you guys at comps, when you blow sub…

Hello Guys and Gals. Well, I finally converted to Sundown. Thanks to Sundown Audio's trade in program, I traded my two American Bass VFL-100.1 amplifiers and got a Sundown SAZ3000D Amplifier. This thing is a beast of an amplifier. I still have two American Bass VFL Extreme DVC 2 ohm 12 Subwoofers that are taking a pounding from the 3000D. Everybody says that I need to upgrade to 15" Nightshades. I hope to do that one day soon. I will probably have to get my 12's reconed soon with stiffer spiders and a better voice coil. I still need to do some fine tuning to my amp so I dont blow my 12's to shreds. With the testing done so far, I did a 147.8 sealed on the dash with weak b…
