Round number two for the real deal. Started planning and collecting for this build a few months after I got the car, so basically a full year now. Don't really have an idea for goals yet, I hope its loud and I will get it metered in the spring. Super close to tearing into it and getting it done, waiting on a few more things to arrive in the mail. 2001 Honda Civic Sedan ES1 Singer 320A Soundrive SDA3 12's Taramp's HD8000 Ex PPI 900.4 Xs Power D5100 & 3100 (maybe more battery coming) 4/0 welding cable SHCA Fuse Holders / Speaker Wire / Battery Terminals Kenwood X399 HU *Possibly going with SSA Evil 6.5 for mids, no clue on tweeters yet* Lots of mis…

I used to frequent this site quite a bit as a young basshead, but adulthood changes things as most of you probably know. I still have passion and love for bass and I'm excited to finally be able to put a system back in my car as I'll be driving a lot for my new job. I know the basics of car audio to an extent, but still need some help with some elementary questions and decisions. The plan is to install my 12" SSA GCON powered by a Sundown SAZ-1000D that I ran in my Jeep a few years ago in my current car which is a 2014 Accord. What I do need is a line out converter, a secondary battery, and wiring for the big three upgrade. Here's what it looks like in the trunk …

There are two things I have never had since I got "serious" into car audio. A 10" sub, or a decent dual sub setup. So this is my build for two 10" xcons! Im super excited, they should be finished building and arriving soon, I hope. I am fitting the maximum dimensions of my trunk while still being able to fold up the stock floor and access the spare tire. I was left with 3.11 internal cubic feet without sub, bracing, 45s, or port displacement. This is firing into the car, so I also needed the subs and port to be on the same face. The triangle port is unconventional but takes up less volume than a typical slot port inside the box and also has less port wall surfa…

Hello, I haven't logged into this site in probably 6 years. Hello again. At any rate I recently acquired a new to me vehicle, a 2004.5 Chevy Silverado 2500HD Duramax. I haven't had any interest in car audio for a long time but I bought this truck and it has some odd Kenwood head unit and factory speakers which sound really bad, even by factory speaker standards. I planned on just getting a pair of speakers for the doors and calling it a day, while shopping I got the idea to do some other stuff with things I found in my garage. It won't be anything fancy but it will do the trick hopefully. I also don't want to spend very much money. The truck came with a …

This is my first build log, please lower any expectations of competency... The system- Raxiom (rebadged Rosen unit) HU- got it because it integrate perfectly with the factory media and had NAV. Zed Audio Mikro 4 channel Rockford Fosgate T500 bd JBL Power Series 6 1/2" components in the front front (no speakers go in the doors (I take them off as often as possible)) Bravox 5 1/4" components in the sound bar (custom made mounting ring, CLD tiles to help the flimsy plastic) SSA XCON 10" in a ported box designed by the SSA store and built with the help of my buddy. It's my (and his) first speaker box built.

whats up guys. I've had a few build logs on this forum in the past and figured why not one more! This time around it is for my personal vehicle, a 2015 Hyundai Sonata Sport. Love this car. Goals for this build is foremost SQ, especially regarding a wide deep soundstage. Secondly to be able to hit +145db around 30hz. Gotta love dem lows! Concerning amplification, the limiting factor will be a single run of Sky High 1/0. This is over sized cable but will limit current draw to 300 amps max. I want a somewhat usable trunk and will be utilizing the spare tire well for the subwoofer enclosure. Front stage limitations include using stock door panels, stock a-pillars an…

Hey Guys, Some of you already know who I am, and for those who don't, here is a quick summary. Basically, I run Taramps, and I have been using Lithium batteries from the good people over at Juice Box Battery. I also use 6 15" SSA Evils subs in a 4thbp that's 50 cuft Gross. This 12DCV system topped off at 162db with poor electrical being at fault for not betting that score since achieving it. Well for 2016, I am changing things up a bit, at least for what seems like the rest of the season. I have shipped my LiFePo4 battery back to JB for repair, and since have acquired 18 XS Power D3400s. I have also wired them in series to achieve 230 DCV Resting. The amplifier…

He just wants loud and clear(minimal break-up), without a major emphasis on FR. There will be 12 of these... ...in this! Power for subs will be ~4k. Front stage is yet to be nailed down.

So, I ordered two 15 inch sundown audio x-15 d4's I'll be running at 1ohm I have been looking for box plans so I don't have to do all the math myself! I would really like the subs facing up and ported! I have a ton of room to work with. 36" deep x 47" wide x 21" high. of course it can be smaller if possible. I have found a box I really like but the website that has it wants $50 for the plans. I really don't want to spend $50 on a PDF files with measurements and then still have to buy the MDF, glue, screws etc and then build it. So if anyone could offer some help here on building a box maybe a website or just toss me some plans that would be great This would…
