Since there seems to be an "old school"(though I personally hate that term FWIW) faction here, I was hoping that some people would post up pics of their old/first systems. I know that when I got into car audio, early nineties....it was pretty much DIY or pay a shop big money. Me being broke I taught myself and eventually got MECP certified. I have had countless systems over the years, but a hard drive crash has left me with only a few pics of some of my earlier systems. So....... Here is my S10 blazer circa 1993....yep ten inch subs for midbass.....didnt work out quite like I planned, but the two 15"s on an Autotek 7300 would pop a quarter about five feet off the roof(…

I picked up this car recently and wanted to toss in some equipment that I've had laying around BNIB for years. I don't know how much of it will fit or how to make it work but I'd like to use all of it if possible. This is all the same stuff I was going to install in the old Merc. That car didn't work out and was sold a few years ago. I'm going to attempt to install this myself again but was looking for pointers so I don't fuck anything up along the way. I've been looking at a few videos on how to take the interior apart etc. Not gonna go crazy like I did last time tho. I think when it gets here, I will start with the h/o alty and the big 3. I bought an alt from Mechm…

Here we go... apologize my English, but I will try my best. So to give you some back information. Bought this car about year and a half ago, did some chip tuning, exhaust and intake work just for daily driving. Some time later I felt like why not add a small subwoofer in the car and bought SPL Dynamics amplifier with Ground Zero 12" sub. Well the sub never made it to car. So I kept the amplifier and bought some 15" Autostudio sub with recone, it was around 1kw RMS. Also some quite good quality enclosure. It was satisfying about a month or two .. but well you always want more. So I went and ordered 2x15" GS Audio platinum sub…

Hi, I'm looking to upgrade my new 2021 Mazda CX-5 6 speakers version (non-Bose). I was thinking about 6.5" Component at front and 6.5 Coxial/Mid Bass at the rear doors, connected to a 4 Channel Amp and JBL Basspro Hub at the spare tire ( I don't want to lose space at the boot). Now, it's a bit tricky to know which speakers will fit at the doors as I couldn't find any documentation of depth compatibility for the Mazda CX-5 online. Does anyone know ? Also, without knowing the exact size can you recommend any setup for a very clear & crisp sound without compromise ? originally I was thinking to go with: Front Component:JL Audio C2-650C / Hertz Mi…

  7. Deadener should be here Friday. I doubt I'll get any work done since there is a car show in town this weekend but I want to do something. I will mount DSP and try to get the ground side of the Big 3 done sometime this week.

  9. 2015 Honda Accord Coupe (big upgrade from the rusted out Buick) https://imgur.com/l8v4uG0 I think a lot of folks found time in 2020 to get some work done on their builds. I picked up my Accord early in the year after my old Buick Century showed signs of death. You guys might recall my buick build log from 2015-2019, but I went a bit crazy near the end of it with Super huge dash pods and Sls 8 door enclosures. Pods https://i.imgur.com/UoO4heW.jpg Doors https://imgur.com/a/EweSH5L Well I don't plan to cut up my car that much this time around. My initial plan is a simple active 2 way + sub. I did all this work at my apartment building's par…

Let me first start by saying I have mad respect for walls or laying down seats you don't need for more room. But for me I like the challenge of keeping my room, always have. I have a wife and 4 kids that still ride with me in a daily basis. I've always liked it loud but you also got to be able to hear the words clearly. So with this build I wanted to compete, not to win just for fun, and keep all of my seating. I bought an American Bass XFL 15 when I had my van and still had my 12-15 year old Diamond Audio Amps. When I got the Durango I built a sub back port back box and fastened the amps to the back of the seat. It was basic clean looking even though I never finished the…

I am rebuilding a box for my HST-15. My current box sounds great, but there are a few things I wish I had done differently. So I thought I would do it again with the improvements made. Here is the box design. The box is 28" tall x 16" wide x 25" deep. I will be in the back seat of my 2008 Tundra. I have had the rear bench seat modified. Basically the middle seat was cut out so the box sits in between the rear seats. I will be powering it with a Taramp's HD 3000.1 with the duel 2 ohm voice coils wired to 1 ohm.

I recently purchased a MB SL380 for my wife for her birthday just recently. The previous owner "upgraded" the stock radio but putting in a basic cd player about 10 years ago and decided not to replace the 4" speakers in the dash but rather install some 6X9 in the space behind the rear seats. The plan is to install a new retro sound headunit with bluetooth capabilities, replace the 4" speakers with some upgraded stock replacements, and install a SSA four channel amplifier to power the speakers. In the near future I would like to install a small subwoofer in the trunk for some lows, the 4" speakers are going to provide anything below 100hz. Pictures posted belo…

Got a single Sundown 12 on an American Bass VFL Comp 2k I recently purchased, thanks SSA, and I've mentioned before that I've been having grounding issues. Just basically absolute hell trying to get a good clean ground. Now that I think I have a decent ground I think all the money Toyota put into making these cars silent in the mid 90's is haunting me and making it a beast to try to get my full sound out of the trunk! Lol. FML!

  20. I've been looking for something to replace my Ford F150. Honestly folks, Its a Money Pit. Can't build the system for having to stop and fix shit. So while I was going through a small town towing a big truck to it's owner, Something For Sale caught my eye and I had to have it !!! Here it is Folks !!! A 2007 Chevrolet Avalanche !!! I've always wanted one !!! I know, Not a "all bells and whistles" ride, but well suitable for what I want. Honestly, the only thing I want to add on the exterior is a bad ass set of 20" wheels and tires. I could have got a new truck, but they don't make an Avalanche any more and I did not want to pay those High as…

Hey guys manzkea back at it again! Lol. Finally got some equipment in. Excited to finally get this project I’ve had in mind for a while rolling . Gonna attempt a blow through in my single cab 2001 ford ranger long bed. Gonna make pods for the doors to house the 6.5s and replace the stock one with a 6.5 or if possible an 8” driver. All powered off the ssa ic150.4. As for subs I’ll be using a 15” sp4 v2 I got from a friend for a deal. A taramps 5k will be used to push it. Unfortunately the evil mids I wanted was unavailable in 4ohms. So I went with these prvs. Well I’ll I’ll be updating this as I get it going. Possibly next week or so, really busy with wor…
