Are stepsom amps really the best amps? if not, are they really good and do they really put out the power they say for example, does the V 14K2D really put out 14000wrms @ 12 volts or not? Last thing, how much are these amps from the V 9K2D too the V 142KD? Heres a link just incase: http://www.stetsom.com.br/eng/Produtos.aspx (Go to amps and click on "DIGITAL")

  2. I would like to start using my phone with my deck as I have spotify and it works really well and I get unlimited music for $10 a month. I have been using an iPod Touch since the interface is so nice on the deck. It really is too bad there aren't any Android compatible DVD decks as I am not a fan of apple at all. So...what do you guys think is the best way to hookup my android phone to get the best possible sound quality? To be honest I will most likely stick with using my iPod, but eventually I would like to get away from that for future use.

I've been looking for a simple, easy to use processor that did not require a PC. I ordered this very intriguing processor and will post reviews after I install it during Thanksgiving week break.

How big does the wire really need to be? For 2k of power to a sub. How many amps are you really putting thru the wire?

  7. I always hate these "either-or" scenarios but I'd like some ideas for 2,000 to just below 3,000rms. I'd like to run 2 10" SSA ICON's which run at 1250rms a piece ... The amplifier needs to run at 1ohm or above, not below. I have 2 JL 1000/1's I can run. Takes up a lot of room to run 2 but I know it will be stable power at 2,000rms. 100A Fuse Per Amplifier. To make things look nice, I'm considering selling the 2 amplifiers to buy a Rockford T2500-1bdCP - 2,500rms. 300A Fuse I just want someone to agree with me and say yes, you're nuts and go for it. OR Someone to say "No, don't do that, you have amazing amps already, RF is downgrading" etc etc ... It's hard to find this i…

I am trying to run the auto-eq on my unit. I keep getting an error message for outside noise. I am running in 3-way active mode. Internal amp is turned off. I did reset the head unit and tried again and still had the same error. I am performing the auto-eq in a very quiet closed garage. Any suggestions or help is greatly appreciated.

copper can handle more current but if you up size the aluminum its just as good, right? say you need a grounding block or a bus bar - the copper bar is quite a bit more money but its smaller, if you dont care about size an aluminum bar that is 30% or so larger can handle the same current; is there any reason to go copper over aluminum?

I'm wondering about the Orion 222 SX. Like this: I know it is rated for 22w X 2 @ 4 Ohms. Outside of that, however, I am somehow under the impression that the SX-series units would do somewhat over rated power and additionally would run at lower than expected resistance loads like the HCCA and XTR amps would? If I am mistaken about this please do correct my ignorance. If anyone knows the real output of this little guy or could maybe point me towards an installation/user's manual I would be greatly appreciative.

So, looking to get some thing ordered. gonna run an Orion 2500d, and I'm thinking that Load Boss might cut it. Its rated at 220A, and 110 @ idle. but I have heard people testing the 220's @ 238A. would that be sufficient for the orion or would I need more... cause those Iraggi's are like 3X more.... another funny thing... from the manf. quotes... LB, 110A @ 800rpm, 220A @ 1600rpm built, Denso, 70A @ 800rpm, 165A @ 1600rpm......? huh.... its a 280A btw. also, thinking about running a 1/0 knuconcept collosus, Pos. & Neg. from front batt. to amp/back batt.(or/and batcap). Is this worthwhile? I imagine its a much better ground.

  18. I am working to expand our amplifier offerings, while staying high quality, somewhat unique, and affordable. First up looks like a class-A/B 6 channel. No crossover network, individual gains, 150watts x 6, will keep footprint as small as possible for the design, similar appearance to the current models. Feeling out interest as it will effect the total amps I put into production. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ As a side note, I am considering a 2-channel of the same line, but the demand for 2 channels right now are so low. Would not really want to build them if they are going to sit for a while. Just curious on any inp…

  19. Here's my dilema... I've got a few soundstream class a amps all of which are 2 channel amps with a seperate gain for each channel. I recently picked up a rubicon 555 5 channel amp and could use the 4 channels to run my front actively. I've got a class a 6.0 going to my fronts now. Would I really be able to tell the difference??? This is just for personal use and not competition.

so as it is stated i have light dimming. i recently well a few hours ago installed a newish alternator for my 2000 toyota camry the alternator is from a totaled/damaged 2003 toyota highlander which is 130amps rather then the stop 80 amp alternator that came with the camry. so car i did the "big 2 upgrade" which consists of batt + to alt +', batt - to strut tower and the new alternator when i turn the up to where i normally put it with the old one well 5 notchs up the lights dim but if im calculations are correct the newish alt should have enough power to power the subs and the rest of the car no problem. but that is not that case. since the amp gain is less the half way …

  22. Sooo... I took advantage of the black today sale and I ordered a xcon18" D2. And I can either get the new sundown 1500D ($400 shipped NEW). Or find a new 2000D ($? Used/refurb). What would you recomend? (Based solely on either 250 over or under...) im not to worried about the little price difference if there is one. I think that im leaning towards the 2000d . Just because 250 more watts on a 1750watt sub doesn't seem like that much more. Problem is finding one. Db-r doesn't have any now. Will be ordering it in december some time. Just want opinions. I guess ill go ahead and let you guys know this is my very first system. And install of any kind(never have even installeda …

I had originally planned on buying a Q2200.1D to power my Ethos. After reading a thread of clamp test numbers and seeing it puts out less that 1.6k after box rise and voltage drop I'm not so sure any more. I've been looking through ads on a local audio FB page and found a SKAR 2500 for less than I'd pay new for the SQ. I know SKAR isn't well liked because of the owner, but I'm not putting money in his pocket. Just looking for the best bang for the buck. Whatever amp I decide on, what should I look for/check? I've always been leery of buying used, but I could stand to save half the cost of a good amp.

I've talked about this subject with a couple people and I was looking for more opinions. My current system is Head Unit: Alpine iDA-X305S Front Stage: (4) 7" AA Carbon Fibers (1) SAX-100.4 (4) Selenium ST200s (1) SAX-125.2 Sub Stage: (2) 15" AA SMD (2) SAZ-3500D strapped Electrical: (1) Yellow Top (4) XS Power D3100 (1) DC Power 320 Amp Alt I'm thinking about upgrading my sub amps to (2) SAZ-4500Ds strapped, will I notice any audible difference or any difference on a TL, is so how much? I would upgrade my electrical along with the amps. Thanks, Dom.
