My Amp is Flickering back and forth out of protect and power..Ive changed the fuses..I have changed the power wire connenction and all...I'm outta Suggestions..Need Help Bad

i was just wondering if anyone knew of a quality monoblock amp, 1-2ohm stable, for under $250.00 and between 800-1200watts. i need one for my two 12" subs. but the thing is i am Very limited on cash. any suggestions would be greatly appriciated

Have you guys heard anything bad about the Pioneer DEX-P99RS? It would be perfect for my three way front stage. I love the idea of having a processor and HU all in one unit. It is expensive compared to other HU's but if you look at the price of a processor plus an HU then the price of the P99RS isn't so bad.

Hey guys, im going to be using a sae-1200d with stock alt (110amps). I was wondering if i could use the 4gauge wire, or should i definitely use the 0 gauge. Also... What battery terminals do you recommend.

the kicker zx1000.1 has a 0-18db variable bass boost at 40hz.. my question is if i want to run my IDQ15s ported and tuned to 28-30hz would the bass boost hurt the sound of the subs?

So for about the past week or two, my speakers keep cutting out. I've tried to find a pattern in their behavior but it APPEARS random. Sometimes they will play for a few songs and then cut in and out in 10 second increments, sometimes they will cut out for 5-10 minutes straight. I thought they might just be over heating (it has been really hot here in Md and the amps are mounted behind the seat) but the amp's thermal warning has not been going off. What's also strange is the sub continues to hit flawlessly. I've walked around with a volt meter and do not see any issues from battery to amp. I would like to ask this question as a thought experiment to determine if I am properly understanding the following relationships with wiring and power. Our speakers get AC out of our amps and our amps get DC from our power system. The DC power does not have frequency as it is a single flowing direct current and as such the flow of electrons through any wire have ZERO skin effect as skin effect is only applicable with frequency of transmission. What does play a part in power capacity however is the material of which the wiring is made of and how it is made. I'll be powering a 12" xcon off a saz 1500d and mli65/not sure about tweeters on a sax 100.4d in a 96 volvo 850 glt. The stock alternator is a Bosch 90amp, and I'll be replacing the stock battery with a Kinetik 1400 (already purchased). I'll probably be putting a kinetik 2400 in the back as well. But will this be enough? I have 235k miles on the car, so not sure if I want to get a heavy duty alt. Also, which charger should I be using: 45, 60, or 80 amp? Posting here since it's 10pm and likely won't get an answer from kinetik soon (holidays), but I did email them anyway.

My buddy has a charger its a "smart charger" so he says will charge a 2v something charge its like the slowest charge he says. It has every abbreviation on it but agm. Will it work for my 3100?

hi, in my last attempt to rule out installation problem i rewired my whole system again plus i added a ground run and i still having this problem: ok, if i have my eq on my headunit set on flat and turn everything off like loud and my highpass i have to have my gains all the way up to even get 20 volts coming out of it( rated for 100 rms @ 4 ohms) and also if i have my eq set to anything but flat and the gains are not all the way down the amp goes into protection mode at 3/4 volume. and i mean all the way down. like i had one just slightly up and it goes into protection mode and also it does not seem to get as loud as it did before. now i don't have an o scope or know any…

So i bought a 1male to 2 female rca adapter from monster because this hu only has one output for subs...but for some reason i cant access the subwoofer controls or the dolby 4.1 settings on this thing...it appears only in ghost writting not in white...whats is wrong?

1. I ordered the Us amps merlin md1, and it says on their site it has 4 gauge awg terminals, but i also ordered the 1/0 gauge from knu, so my question is will it still fit/work? Or can you use any size wire for any amp? 2. Also, can someone link me to where you can buy the steve meade custom woofer from AA, or tell me if it's any good? 3. LASTLY lol: would you recommend a single fi bl 12 or 15 for mainly rap and hip hop? Thanks.

Does anyone have any experience with the AQX3500's? im planning on running one on 2 AQ HDC318's copper coils. Id like to run it at .5 ohms, will it become a frying pan or will it be ok.

Okay, just for fun and to satisfy my curiosity...... In your opinion, what is the best head unit? Best flip up head unit? by best i mean: sound quality (of course), functionality, easy to use, and lastly; curb appeal and looks.

I have 2 AQ2200ds strapped together. The power light was always on on both amps so no reverse wiring there. They never went into protect. Voltage sitting at 13.5v Gain half way, subsonic all the way down, lpf at 110hz. Preout voltage 4v, preout maxed out on head unit, Sub output is turned on, bass is on +3 boosted at 80hz. never dealt with EQ's and stuff before.... i originally planned to run an EQ and an external active xover, but lo and behold, the amp i am planning to run, the Usamps AX5600 has a built in 3-way xover. SOOO instead of spending another 50 dollars or so, and adding more stuff to wire, i can just run everything from the amp and the EQ. i purchased a PG TiEQ15 a few weeks ago and it only has one set of RCA inputs, and 1 set of outputs while the amp has 3 sets of inputs. i know i have to run another set of speaker wire/side as well as a set of RCA's from my HU but how do i handle the EQ? just run the eq off of the front RCA's? or am i out of luck and get a new eq with 3 …

can you test voltage of RCAs with a DMM?

I just bought a new mtx ta7801 well I traded 2 R.F. P1's forit but anyway anyone no of any problems with these amps it sounds nice and clean the birth sheet says it puts out 1732w at 1 ohm. Just wanted your guys opinion onit I've never been a big fan of MTX so idk anything about them.

Hey guys! Hopefully someone can help me with this. I'm going to redo my whole sound system and I was going to get a h/o alternator but my stock alternator went out so i had to buy another stock one. So my question is will I be able to add a h/o alternator to my truck with the stock one that I currently have? and if so what do I need to make it work. Please help!!

amplifiers like the ZR240? Mine has one for bass, but i'd like to find some others that I might possibly have a use for. Can you run the ZR240 without anything plugged into that port? Thanks in advance, Ed

does anybody know what size kinetik or powermaster will fit under hood of expedition? I am going to run either powermaster 3100 or couple kinetik 2000s in back, but expedition has side post in front, and not much clearance for hood.

I was at wal mart the other day picking up some speaker wire for an install i was doing for a friend. I was looking at the HU section just out of curiosity. I found a unit that is made specifically for iPod/iPhone playback. It had a FM tuner, aux in, and the faceplate flips down with a iPod/Phone docking station. I put my iPhone on it to see if it would work with it. It charged my phone and played the music just fine. The price on this unit was 100$ even.
