SSA needs thier own team sub

My last setup I had was 4 vvx 15s on a single sk1500 subs foward port up tuned to 35hz in my 2011 Chevy silverado extended cab. The box was 16 cubes gross and was above the window line. (new box needs to be under window line if you wondering why I am shrinking the box) Now that you have a little back ground info I now have a single cresendo bc3500 and I'm planing to rebuild I have 20h x 20d x 55l which is around 10.5cubes gross and want a daily ground pounder that can move some air. I was just wondering what the difference is between the small enclosure size recommendation and the optimal size recommendation for the SSA subs? How is output affected by going with the optimal size vs the smaller size? Is is a noticable difference?

I'm planning on ordering two 15" Icons in the next few days and I was just wondering what you guys think I should power them with? Would one SAZ-1500D be underpowering them? It'll be a ported box... Thanks!

As the title says, I should be ordering an ICON soon enough. I just have to wait and see when the credit card payment goes through before I can order this beautiful sub. My current system is two Kicker Comp 10" subs in about a 1.2ft^3 sealed down firing box. The amp is a Kicker a Zx400.1 which is birthed at 484 watts. For the mids/highs I have two Infinity referrence 6.5s up front with a Rockford Prime R125 putting out 140 watts to the front two speakers. After all of the readings i've done, it seems like these are the popular choices for subs. Which would you rate for being the best all around LOUD SOUND QUALITY sub. It seems like the ia and xcon have the flattest bl curve, the xxx may be the winner in the lows department and the w7 is what everything is measured against. B4 I only had highs with no mid bass, so I loved my 10w7's over my 06xxx. Now I have the focal krx2 for the highs and mids, so what would be a good sub to blend with them? I've got a 91 crx dx and I've been withoutbass for a while taxes are in and I'm ready to purchase some subs. I'm not set on what I want yet I have 2 15 icons. I've had many ideas and my spending limit on a sub, or subs but I need help deciding. I don't have a amp yet I want to get a 1 ohm stable amp for the subs or sub but what coils would i g3t? i just saw the ssa black friday sale on the 15" XCON for 289 plus shipping. even though i just got an ICON i am considering picking the XCON up. but im wondering if 1000 watts would be enough power for a while till i am able to get the proper amp for it. dont wanna do something wrong by underpowering it

I have an 04 Toyota Tacoma Pre-runner xtra cabwith the big 3 done in 1/0,a DC Power 190 amp alternator,the wire for the amps are already run 1/0 for the sub amp 4 fr the mid/high amp both done in Kicker brand I already have an enclosure with intergrated amp rack already installed in the truck,the enclosures are sealed at 1.7 per side for 12's,my amp choice is (1) saz2000d for the subs and (1) saz125.2 for the mids and highs which are currently Infinity.My music i listen to is rap/hip hop and classic rock;I am looking for some really low end with high output,my question is what woud be a better suited sub for this application and power an (2) ICON,D1 or (2) XCON,D1.Thanks …

Tossing a few ideas around for my sub stage and have a question. What would be the best enclosure volume for a 12" Xcon and a TC Sounds 15" PR? The PR will be tuned differently depending on my mood. Any input will be greatly appreciated. Thanks, Colby

I ordered 3 SSA dcon 12's that should be here soon. I am putting the subs in a t-line box and I am wondering if there is a particular break in for the subs. With all of my other subs, I have just kept the volume low for about a week and then crank it up. Any suggestions are appreciated. Thanks

ok heres the deal, i have a friend that competes in streetspl,. he started the season off with 4 SA 12s on 2 M3as and was doing great, then he stepped up to 4 soundlab 18's on 4 M3as and was whopping ass. the new season starts in january and hes looking to rebuild, he asked me to find him 9 SA 12s but im thinking to suade him into 9 Gcons, the thing is, he knows the SA12's he ran them before, and i have too, great subs, but the Gcon is new, but it priced around the same, and its a comparable woofer on paper, im looking for someone that has used both woofers, i dont want to talk this guy into getting something he may not be happy with then look at me like im an as…

I have room for either one. Amp is an ED Nine.1 (1200 @ 1 ohm). My music preference is rap and I like deep bass and SPL. I'm sure either setup will satisfy my SQ requirements. Car is a 2005 Mustang. Very small trunk. Thank you

I have just received my 15" Icon sub, and I can have a sealed free enclosure (about 4 cu ft). I listen mostly to reggae and rap, What should I do? Keep it sealed, or add a round port to it ? My amplifier is a JL Audio A1800 and will give the sub 650w rms @ 4 ohms. I have Focal 165KP for front speakers on a big Boston GT42 amp. 0 Ga power wiring... so i picked up a ICON 15 threw it on a JL 500/1 in 3.5 cubes or so tuned around 30 sounds good on those long lows. but she listens to it all.. so i think im going to build a sealed box for it.. i like the sub.. even with very little power on it
