i have a 2005 civic 4 door. 1kw to play with and enough space for 4 cubes in the trunk. i just bought a icon 12 and want to make up an enclosure for it. i want it to be loud to the ears and still sound good and flat. what would you guys recommend?

Hi SSA ! I'm ordering one Demon 12 on 500 w : I want to build a ported box. tuned at 32 Hz, sub up, port back for a VW Golf. Second order : 2 Demons 10" on 1500 w, Sharing the same space. I want a ported box : 32 Hz, sub up, port back for a BMW X1. What do you recommend ? Where can I get help for 2 designs ? thanks in advance guys.

I was just wondering what the difference is between the small enclosure size recommendation and the optimal size recommendation for the SSA subs? How is output affected by going with the optimal size vs the smaller size? Is is a noticable difference?

would 900wts at 2ohm be ok to match up with a 15"icon in a fisher ported box

My son and I just got done swapping out amps to power my original Blue dust cap Icon 10. It was being powered by a Zed built Usacoustics USA2150 bridged and rated at 500 watts. I acquired an ESX 275.2 and honestly...I wasn't expecting a huge difference. We have the d2 Icon running bridged mode on the ESX. The rating for bridged mode is 825 watts. I recently purchased a SSA Evil 15 D2. This is my third SSA subwoofer. I previously owned a XCON and ZCON. I originally purchased an Incriminator Audio DP15. After ordering I noticed that the new IA shredder basket was only offered on the 12" sub . It took two business days for anybody at SSA to answer my calls, emails, messages and chats. I was asking to change my order to a SSA Evil. After I was able to contact someone at SSA it was no problem with changing my order. I was happy to receive my Evil within a week. Does anyone know the measurement between the underside of the mounting flange and the top of the surround of an EVIL18? I don't know how closely USACi monitors the below the window line rule. I sure hope I don't have to account for woofer excursion...

I feel like a little kid waiting on christmas to open presents. I have been reading over and over on this forum. I just placed an order for 2 Icon 12d1 subs and a Sundown sae1200 amp. Once they come in a build log with pics will follow. I have heard nothing but great things about the customer support from SSA that really sold me along with all the people on this forum backing it up. I know I will be very happy with this decision. I am excited, can't wait, and had to share it. I am sure many of you have had this feeling before.

Well, we spent some money today . What we spent it on was a professionally produced video for SSA Sub's. John, who is producing the video currently has 3 Video's on MTV! Just looking at the footage we took, this video should be like nothing you've seen before as far as excursion videos go. Also, we plan to stream this on the home page and our youtube home page. Test tone at 38hz on music, peaked at 44hz. Scores on the left are sealed on the dash and scores on the right are meca (meter was on a stand on the passenger seat) I was pretty happy with no tuning at all really. Wasn't really looking to max out the db's, just wanted a base to test the sp4's against when they come in.

So i was waiting patiently for the Xcons to arrive. After working for 26 hours i had to stay awake to make sure they made it into the house safely. Of course i got the same ol' thing from the driver, "This thing is heavy as hell" talk. As i put down the second sub i noticed some prick penetrated the box!! In any other scenario this would be normal but not this time. This is what i saw... My first thought was,"OH SHIT!! that better have not gone through the surround!!"

I just put my dcon 12s in a sealed box in 1.25 cubes each and they are being powered by a Rockford Fosgate T500-1bd. I understand that they are not broken in yet. What's the difference in sound when they are broken in? So far they sound awesome and DO get loud sealed and let me tell you, these subs hit LOOOW. I don't regret sealing them at all. Another thing I immediately noticed about them is they have crazzy excursion. Way more than the JL Audio W3D4 12s and Orion P12s I used to have. Are you sure their Xmax is only 16mm lol?

I finally put in my Icon 15. It's in 3.5 cubes tuned to 34 hz and it is loud as fvck and sounds clean to boot! The funny part is it isn't even broken in.
