Currently have a 15" Xcon sealed at about 3.2 cubes which I've had on various power from a BC3500d, Kenwood KAC-x810d, JL 500/1, rf T5001bd and I loved it(still love it).... This was all in a '03 Camry with an upgraded mechman 320a ... My situation is now I have a new 2016 Mazda3 hatch.... I dont really want to do much audio wise yet besides at bass.. clearly much smaller space... My options I've considered: add in LOC so I can get audio to a low power sub amp or use my ZED mikro4 and bridge to a dual 4ohm sub 10" sub wise: downgrade to any 10" SSA sub and port.. aka Dcon, GCON, ICON, Xcon OR purchase basket and recone for Xcon 10" and put in some work o…

What's up guys. Looking to do this install in my 2000 Dodge Intrepid. Having figured out the exact box demensions but looking at somewhere around 2.2 cubes @ 32hz. What are you guys opinions and suggestions? Anything is appreciated! Thanks.

First off my slow ass car...i think im justified in not spending thousands to make it a tad faster. Went from..15" ssd copper coil at 2ohm on an alpine 1000wrms sealed To a larger box with 6" aeroport.. And yesterday came my sundown 1200D + SSA icon D2 running at 1ohm (curtousy of johnecon2001) :bigclap: Im still playing with the settings but man am i satisfied with this combo. Imo the sound quality between the SSD and the Icon are almost identical, but the output from the icon rocks my socks. It hits lows like nobodys business, which the SSD hit um, just not nearly as loud. And that sundown amp stays cool as an ice cube. My hats off to sundown and SSA for the…

I've been drooling over getting an SSA for about 3 years now and finally pulled the trigger yesterday and got a 12" DCON. I have a subaru outback with 36" (I *think*) between the strut mounts and about 16" high. It can be as deep as needed and the seats also slant back a bit. My last pair of subs died because a friend slammed their bike into them so I'd like something that faced up or to the side. I'd like to go ported between 30 and 32. Anyone have any ideas on a shape I can use? I don't want this sub to succumb to the same fate as my last ones.

A new side project we have had going for a few months now on the side. At this time, they will only come in our SSA Testarossa red and come fully loaded options wise, as these are meant to be premium units. They have Japanese Koyo bearings for super long life, as well as 6 phase hairpin stators. Some will have billet cases, all will have a machined pulley cover. As of now, the SSA Testarossa's have been selling via word of mouth and at a killer intro period pricing. well i have had my Xcon for awhile now and just love it ( it sounds really good right now )... i have it hooked to my Hifoincs BXi 1208d... 1200 X 1 @ i ohm... i had this amp when i bought the Xcon, it is a couple years old.. so anyway what i am wanting to know is.... will i notice any changes in sound or output if i buy like a SAZ 1500d or another quality amp that does 1500 watts ? ( is it worth the money ) it is ia a 4 cube box ported to 32hz.... i read the post on the guy who built a sealed box for his Xcon... i mite build a sealed box and see how i like it... i listen to alot of rock... nickleback... metallica type music... once in awhile some rap just…

I have a customer that wants to use either of subwoofers mentioned for a silverado install. Which ever model is used is dependent upon which subwoofer will fit given the design of the enclosure and the customer has already told me he has tired to obtain the same information with no response.

This could be a stupid question but I'm just wondering. The XCON package with the Saz-1500d. The Saz-1500d is the v.1 right? I know the v.2s dont come out until late december but I'm wondering so i can buy the Saz separate or just buy the package. Thanks for the input.

I recently purchased a SSA Evil 15 D2. This is my third SSA subwoofer. I previously owned a XCON and ZCON. I originally purchased an Incriminator Audio DP15. After ordering I noticed that the new IA shredder basket was only offered on the 12" sub . It took two business days for anybody at SSA to answer my calls, emails, messages and chats. I was asking to change my order to a SSA Evil. After I was able to contact someone at SSA it was no problem with changing my order. I was happy to receive my Evil within a week. well I got my 2 15" icons running off a zx2500. How well can they take it on clean power? I can beat mine for about a good 10 min then they start to give a little smell out. I have the bass boost off and gains only set 1/4 of the way. On one song today I even heard it pop. Looked like from over excursion or something ( if thats what makes them pop). I am getting a buddy of mine that owns a shop to see what he thinks and if the smell is the voice coils.

So heres the deal. Ive been waiting on the IA LI 10s to be released and take advantage of the free enclosure deal. SInce there is no real date to be released yet, im pondering the idea of doing 2x 10" Icons and powering with a SAZ-1500d. Quentin drafted me up a box to suit my space and came up with 2.5ft^3@32hz. My question is, will 750wrms a piece be enough for these to really shine? I currently have a 12" Q in 2ft^3@32 off the same amp. Im looking at changing my setup and going for more output. Does this sound like a reasonable option? I dont want to drop the dough and not be 100% satisfied. Thanks!

I have had my xcon going on 4 years in a large ported box (2.7ish tuned to 30hz) running off a ED 9.1 and been away from this site awhile too. So I was wondering has anyone put the xcon in one of these types of enclosures and if so wht were the results?

I have a 2003 trailblazer lt, not ext, and I was thinking about runnning 2 18 xcons. Not a lot of people are running 18s in trailblazers because of the limited room in there. Crazycricket12 on smd forum gave me dimensions of his box. It's 21h x 45w x 30d. He's using the torres box calculator. The box has a square port in the middle of the box facing back hatch. The dimensions for the port is 10h x 10w x 12L. It says port area is 100 ft2 with tuning at 32.75hz. The total net volume only excluding bracing is 12.41ft3. Would this work??

Okay, for those running the Evil mids in an enclosure, how are you using them?

I want to run a Sundown SAZ1500D v.2 and a XCON 15D2. I have a 2008 Hyundai Elantra and unfortunately a 15" ported Khaotik enclosure will not fit. So my question is : do I buy a 15" sealed Khaotik enclosure or a 12" ported Khaotik enclosure? Which of the two will give me the most output when powered by a SAZ1500D v.2? Thanks!

Hello everyone! It's been a while since I've posted anything. I have a pair of dcon 12s in a vented enclosure, 1.75 cubes each tuned to 33hz powered by a RF power series 500 watt amp. It gets decently loud, however I'd like it to get louder. The box I have just about takes up as much space as I can fit in my truck. Would they get louder with more power and how much would you recommend if so?

My son and I just got done swapping out amps to power my original Blue dust cap Icon 10. It was being powered by a Zed built Usacoustics USA2150 bridged and rated at 500 watts. I acquired an ESX 275.2 and honestly...I wasn't expecting a huge difference. We have the d2 Icon running bridged mode on the ESX. The rating for bridged mode is 825 watts.
