So I recently posted this thread about the continuous power of the ZED Leviathan amp powering the Image Dynamic CTX65CS comps. I'm on a roll ... - SSA Car Audio Forum I am satisfied to know that the ID comps will run fine with the ZED amps RMS power. I however didn't think about the power handling capability of the SSA DCON 12S4. That sub is rated at 300w RMS and the ZED amp puts out 600w continuous power bridged. Sooo ... will the DCON 12S4 sub be OK with the 600w continuous power that the ZED amp will be feeding it? I'm pretty sure I know the answer to this BUT I just want to make sure. Headroom right?! THANKS!

I'm new to this forum and after much research I'm 99% sure that I am going to go with a dcon 12 for my ford fusion build. My goal is sq with as little room taken in the trunk as possible. The sub will be running off the 300 watts of a jl 500/3. The only thing really holding me back is the box design. I want to go with a sloped box that follows the contours of the seat to keep the enclosure tucked under the rear deck/cross beam area. Nomore than 7 inches t the top and 12ish at the bottom spanning the length of the trunk area. Now, I keep reading that this sub really wants to be put in a ported enclosure with a low tune, but I'm not sure if that can be achieved with my s…

I've been curious about the Xcons for a while now. How much louder are they than the Icons? Would an Xcon 12 in a 2 -3 cube ported tuned to 33hz powered by a Sundown 1500D be louder than an Icon 15 ported in about 4.5 cubes tuned to 33hz powered by a Sundown 1000 watt amp?

I've heard that the SSA ICON 15 and Fi Q15 are very similar in SQ and output. I want to purchase either of the two subs but am not sure which to choose. I want a sub that has very deep, low bass, and gets loud with good SQ. Does anyone know if any of the two is better than the other???

I just obtained an SSA DCON12 single 4ohm. It will be run off a JBL MS-A5001. So 500 watts. I am looking for SQ. My last setup was a CDT QES1220 in .62cu.ft sealed. It sounded phenomenal. But I made the mistake after selling my Explorer of telling the wife that the CDT is hers..lol So now I have a chance at the DCON. Couple questions: 1: How will the DCON respond in an Infinite Baffle? 2: If I run sealed, have you guys plotted the 12's to see where it gets the flattest response? .75, 1, 1.2 cu.ft???

I know I should have gotten an ICON 12 but I got the ICON 15 from W140 on here. Great seller and smooth transaction! He's going to get me in trouble with the wife since he's sold me my amp as well. Anyways, I'm a bit restricted on space since I need to fit a stroller in my trunk. I've measured my max dimensions for a sealed box and it comes to a net volume of 2 ft^3 after driver displacement. If I use 2 lbs of polyfill, will I still receive decent output and freq range? Sub is being powered by a Soundqubed 1200.1 running at 1 ohm.

Glad I went down and picked up the 12 from you today, sounds louder than 3 P3's on a T3000.1, even with the prefab box. I am getting a box designed, will you be able to build it for me if I give you the sketch-up??

So I'm going to running the new XCON 15' D2 Subwoofer in a custom spare tire enclousure and I'm torn on SEALED OR PORTED@35hz? The car's goal is daily driver ""SQL"". SUNDOWN SAZ-1500D is the amp with MORE than enough upgraded electrical to support it.

  18. my first post.. lol I know, but what better place to ask about icon's than the main " icon " thread area right? I was simply wanting to know if i'd be safe using 2 mm4000.1 on 8 10" icons, provided I do have very decent electrical in my opinion... I was wanting to know if the 10s could do the 1000ish per sub. They look awesomely built and have caught my attention for some time, but money has been going to other things recently as I clear out what I have left in my current system of dd/sundown. I'll probably get told to just look at their specs etc, but woofers are underrated all the time, so who's to say I can't ask lol. Any help appreciated and thank you in advance. Be …

  22. I'm trying to see if I can fit a 12" XCON in my trunk. Are these small, medium, or large enclosure subs? I know the Icon's are meant for relatively small enclosures. Power would be 1200rms if that helps any. Would like ported if it can fit. Have 2-3 cubes to work with.

I'm buying either 2 12" xcons or 2 15" xcons depends on what thumper comes up with and recommends for my truck x-cab s-10. I see in the ssa store that I can buy a combo of each sub with a sun down 1500 but I would like to only run one amp for the subs. Would the 3500 be ok or should I go bigger or should I go ahead and buy 2 1500. P.S. I'm comming to the dark side from running 2 JL 12W6 and 2 Phoenix Gold Ti 600.2 amps. IT'S LOUD BUT I WANT MORE

Just woundering if a 12" Dcon would work well in a home theater system. It would be in a seald box powered by a 250 watt Dayton plate amp. Andanother question, can you get the Dcon without the logo on the dustcap? Caus I want to go with a real clean look.
