First impressions: MASSIVE.

according to specs xcon has more xmax, low fs and more power handling. In terms of SQ how would they compare?

What's the optimal box volume and port area for Xcon 18". I plan on going for 6cft net cause space in kinda tight.

Whats ur opinions on this scenario? Considering enclosure volume is pretty close, power recommendations are about the same. Price is similar....whats ur opinions?

We have an update. The news is that the Carbon Fiber dust caps that were originally planned for the Xcon have been delayed. But we are going to offer dust cap options. The logo will be the same regardless of option choice. By doing this we are able to keep the standard cost of the Xcon down just under the $400 mark. The XCON will have option of three dust caps: 1.) Inverted Cap (concave mica reinforced polypropylene) 2.) SSA Convex Cap (Same as Dcon and Icon) 3.) Carbon Fiber Cap (Offered at a later date) + $17 The standard Xcon dust cap offered is the inverted option which we feel with give a very clean look.

Ive been patiently waiting on some specs for the xcon 15". Just wish you guys would hurry up and post them on the website. Thanks.

Here's a sneak peak at whats to come. Our goals with this sub is to have a great sounded sub that can handle gobbs of power. I have a fresh Sundown 1500D waiting for this sub and a brand new text box, 2.5ft^3 @ 32hz w/43in^2 of port. Hopefully I get some time to take a short vid of the crazy amount of xmax this thing has. Denim can fill in the rest if he so chooses too, anyways, on to the pics.

So heres the deal. Ive been waiting on the IA LI 10s to be released and take advantage of the free enclosure deal. SInce there is no real date to be released yet, im pondering the idea of doing 2x 10" Icons and powering with a SAZ-1500d. Quentin drafted me up a box to suit my space and came up with 2.5ft^3@32hz. My question is, will 750wrms a piece be enough for these to really shine? I currently have a 12" Q in 2ft^3@32 off the same amp. Im looking at changing my setup and going for more output. Does this sound like a reasonable option? I dont want to drop the dough and not be 100% satisfied. Thanks!

What series SSA sub would suit me best? I was looking @ FI BLs or Qs but lost instress because the guys on the Fi forum are to Baised. All i asked for is a sub that could get loud and sound good. They say you can't have Both. WTF! the reply is BLs get loud but lack lowend and SQ the Qs sound great has lowend but lack output. Please! Please help me decide , i don't want to Compromise SQ over Output. For the record i have power to spare and space to work with and i'm lookin @ 18s btw. All i hear is Get BLs NO get the Qs what type of music, what amp, what vehicle, ported or sealed. yada yada yada.

Well this summer I am planning on walling off my 2000 accord coupe. Im already sponsored by Diablo Audio Technologies so I will be running their amplifiers. (most likely the 2500.1s) I have been doing a lot of searching for woofers and came across these and something about them is just screaming my name. I was originally going to go with 4 15" Havocs since they get piss loud and sound good doing it, but didnt really have the power handling I was looking for. The XCONs seem to be the one. So yesterday i installed my new 10" Icon with a 125.2 Sundown. And install went fine, little trouble with the Line Out Convertor, but we worked through it. After it was all installed and setup good we started messing with tuning, and man this setup was POUNDING away on my BMW!! I mean for a 10 and the 125 to be hitting this hard was amazing. Cutting the story short i was driving home and had the music going nothing outrageous just listing to the radio. I get up this morning to do some final touches and noticed that my license plate had rattled off on my way home!!! I thought it was hilarious!!! Well that is my little plug/review of my new SSA/Sundown system!! Thanks.

Well, the DCON 12 that i won in the giveaway arrived today. I immediately removed it from the package and examined it. Aside from the motor it is a spitting image of the Icon. Glue joints are flawless and just looking over it and holding it you can tell the build quality is top notch. I have pics i will post up when i do the build log I actually spent yesterday rewiring the car and prepping things, so i was eager to put it in a temporary prefab box to start breaking it in. I finally got it in around 8 this evening and started to play around with it. New box build will be coming over the next week, it is currently in 1.25 cubes gross, sealed I can already tell that this t…

I just put my dcon 12s in a sealed box in 1.25 cubes each and they are being powered by a Rockford Fosgate T500-1bd. I understand that they are not broken in yet. What's the difference in sound when they are broken in? So far they sound awesome and DO get loud sealed and let me tell you, these subs hit LOOOW. I don't regret sealing them at all. Another thing I immediately noticed about them is they have crazzy excursion. Way more than the JL Audio W3D4 12s and Orion P12s I used to have. Are you sure their Xmax is only 16mm lol?

i was thinking about getting 2 icon 12s and i was wondering what would be a good amp to run them? i would like to stay cheap but i want a good quality amp. it probably be in the loaded enclosure from fisher customs. so the specs of that box
