Sound Solutions Audio (SSA®)

Currently I'm running a 10" Icon in a 1.5 cube box at 32hz with 1000-1200rms. Is there much of a difference if I used a smaller box such as 1-1.35 cubes with the same tuning?

Hi All, I purchased a 1.48 cubic foot box for a 12 inch Icon that I was purchasing, since it was the optimal size box after the sub displacement. However, through some serious luck and acts of nature, I was sent a 12 inch Xcon instead of the Icon. The sub is being powered by a SAE-1200D at 1 ohm in the back of my 2004 Impala. While the Xcon sounds great and is finally breaking in, it seems to want a bigger box. The sub is crossed at 80hz, and hits really hard in the 40 to 50 hz range, but below that it seems to run out of steam fast. I am guessing that this is due to the small box. I don't have the funds to have a new box built right at the moment, so I was wondering…

Just a quicky video I made. I just noticed that when it shows me turning up the bass knob it appears to be at full, when in fact it's only half, the knob spun out one day becuase of the heat down here so the dot doesn't line up to where it's actually at lols. Anyways, here's the video...

How much would it cost to recone an ssa icon 15"???? thanks in advance

i see that the free xcon enclosures have an optimum ported, but no dual optimum ported. regular ported is 2.6 cubic feet, what would be the optimum ported enclosure for 2 xcon tens?

Do the ssa icon sound good in a sealed enclosure?the setup would be 2 15"icon running off a single audioque2200 in a car trunk?

Any idea yet what power handling will be on these?

So I was doing some research and need some help. I plan to use a box that has the sub facing up and needed to know how tall the box has to be to fit a SSA XCON 18. Can't find info on what the length of the sub is. Any help is greatly appreciated, thanks.

I would like to know the status on these recones I ordered back on may 2nd. I talked to Mark when we were at Big Apple for a comp this past sunday and he told me to get ahold of him and he would see what was going on, but I am unable to get ahold of him.. Which one would you guys go with? The pioneer flip out or kenwood flipout? I've used the kenwood, and may buy today. Need opinions on how fast compared they are. Features don't matter, only backup cam and variation of eq setting.

I am looking for a redone kit for my old 2009 icon 12. Any idea where I can find one. Also I would like to send it in to where I buy from insuring it is done professionally.

So I drove to Sumter today and met up with Master Yoda for the test and tune. This was my first try on any meter and I really had no idea what to expect. I was kinda worried I might get over there and embarrass myself being a virgin and all. Here are the results 148.55 @ 36hz sealed legal 146.10 @ 40hz Average on music 148.67 @ 36hz Peak music I am always pretty conservative with my gains and noticed zero clipping on the TL meter and also got some suggestions to help improve on this. Yoda is putting this on again in 2 weeks and I am curious to see what I can do with a little tweaking and maybe a little turn of the gain. Not too bad for a first time rookie running SQ sub…

I just received the newsletter from SSA, it mentions a few updates and what not.. One of the links which got me all excited and happy says 12" Icon sale pricing! Of course I clicked the link and it is dead.. This is what I see, anybody else have the same issue? I wanna buy a new woofer!!!

Some backstory about me..... OK, I've been into audio for a few years. I always ran what the locals consider inferior or off brand subs. There's just something great about running paper cone house subs (adire audio shivas) and beating everyone in town in the spl comps I wanted to improve on my previous score of 148.7 on the dash using 2 shivas. (The meter was a terrasonde xmeter that I suspect measures about 6-8 db higher than a TL) I ran 2 S15L7's for about a year and only hit a 150.5 on that same meter. This may sound strange, but I was wondering what would be involved with getting more details on the actual dimensions of the ZCON and XCON 15" Basically like the magnet diameter, thickness of it, etc. (an actual technical drawing would be great too!) Reason I ask is I am working on a design for my friend's car and have enough cubic feet but limited height to work with, so I'm trying to see if I can make one of these fit. I want him to be an SSA guy if possible! Thanks in advance!

does anyone know if the icon will preform well in a 3 cu ft. ported box? 3 cubes is all i can fit in my CRX since i want to keep the sub covered. any input would be great

I just want to express my gratitude and tell you guys at SSA that the new site is fvcking amazing looking and is MUCH more user friendly than the last, somewhat "confusing to navigate" site (especially for viewing threads and posting). I'm on CA most of the day, but this site appearance dogs CA's.

I have a 98 s10 ext I plan to get a ported box, which would have deeper bass, and be louder. 1 12 icon or 2 SSA 12s?Also not sure of a good amp to buy but want to keep the price under 350$ any suggestions?

Looking for a little help on deciding which sub setup to run. First off the vehicle is a 2005 explorer. Already have a Sundown SAZ-3500d to power them. Electrical upgrades will be DC 270 amp alt., big three in 1/0, two runs to back of vehicle in 1/0 and 2 D3100 batteries. Purpose of the system is daily ground pounder. Want loud and clean. Hi guys, After lots of research I decided I'd really like to get the Icon 12. I'm most likely putting this in a prefabbed box so I need to make sure it will fit. Does anybody have the magnet diameter for this sub? I see the mounting depth but not the magnet diameter listed on the product page. Thanks!

Just ordered my Icon 15 and SAE 1000D!! Can't wait. Any one know how long it takes for the Icon to be shipped? And is 4.0ft^3 @ 32hz good?
