I am gonna be building a sealed enclosure for my 15" xcon it will be powered by 300rms Its gonna be going in the front of my living room, Should I fire the sub down or point it at the wall? What size should my enclosure be for good deep bass response in a sealed setup? Any ideas or tips?

  8. Hi I have someone who has heard of SSA and is interested in 15" ZCON He has a SoundStream DTR 3400.1 tower amp Before I tell him to order the sub.... I'm wondering if that sub and amp match well together? and which ohm to run the sub at? and the perfect box size assuming the car has unlimited space? the only reason i told him about the ZCON is because its the best of the best

I have 16.72274606 cubic feet available (calculator copy/paste ftw). I want new subs. I can do 4 15" Dcons sealed...Idk about ported. I could squeeze 2 18" Icons ported, or easily seal them. I could port an 18" Xcon. Mainly I'm wondering how much I lose by going sealed. So Dcons or Icons do well sealed? Throw some ideas out there!

So heres the deal. Ive been waiting on the IA LI 10s to be released and take advantage of the free enclosure deal. SInce there is no real date to be released yet, im pondering the idea of doing 2x 10" Icons and powering with a SAZ-1500d. Quentin drafted me up a box to suit my space and came up with 2.5ft^3@32hz. My question is, will 750wrms a piece be enough for these to really shine? I currently have a 12" Q in 2ft^3@32 off the same amp. Im looking at changing my setup and going for more output. Does this sound like a reasonable option? I dont want to drop the dough and not be 100% satisfied. Thanks!

  14. 2 10" SSA Icon's I want ported, firing back in a trunk setup. Newer model Chevrolet Impala, so I have a lot of room to play with (in terms of the 18 3/8's width given, I can go more). Should I stick with the pre-designed enclosure numbers or do something different, because I have the space? 1k to each subwoofer. Hip-Hop & R&B - All the lows I'm getting someone to build the box so I only have 1 shot at this, so to say. Thanks guys.

I have a 98 s10 ext cab, have not chosen box specifications, or an amp yet. For the amp I'm thinking about getting a 1500 watt audiopipe. For the box I plan to go ported. Which would be louder and with deeper bass 2 12" gcons which are 750 rms or 1 12" icon which is 1250 rms?

Im looking for a good amp to power 2 12" SSA ICONS in a 2.35^3 sealed box for a nice daily driver application. Will the Sundown SAZ 1500d v.2 be enough to power those ICONS? I am not overly concerened with extremely high SPL just a nice punchy daily driver with a good mix of SQ.

So I have been thinking, If I wall off behind the second row I should be able to get about 14 and a half cubes. Subs on the outer sides and 200sqin of port in the middle. I would be uprading the electrical, with h/o alt, big 3, and atleast 5 batts(1 up front 4 in the back). Another saz 1500, and a shit ton of deadner. I will be upgrading my fronstage as well. I am hoping to do atleast around 146 or so. That would be double the cone area and double the power, aswell as aupgraded electrical. What do you guys think????

I have a 2003 trailblazer lt, not ext, and I was thinking about runnning 2 18 xcons. Not a lot of people are running 18s in trailblazers because of the limited room in there. Crazycricket12 on smd forum gave me dimensions of his box. It's 21h x 45w x 30d. He's using the torres box calculator. The box has a square port in the middle of the box facing back hatch. The dimensions for the port is 10h x 10w x 12L. It says port area is 100 ft2 with tuning at 32.75hz. The total net volume only excluding bracing is 12.41ft3. Would this work??

I'm looking for the most output in the trunk of a Nissan Maxima. On a SAZ-1500D the options are a pair of 12" icons (4 cubes @ 30hz) or a single 15" xcon (4 cubes @30hz). SQ is not a factor because it is not relavant to my goals. I only listen to rap and R&B, so "lows" are not an issue. Just looking for a daily ground pounding system. I hope I've provided enough info. Thx

  23. I know the "is X better than Y" questions are annoying, but I'm looking to upgrade from my current set up and the DCONs seem to fit the bill. They fit the budget of $300 and the RMS ratings line up. Everything else I've looked at has much higher RMS ratings and would be better suited to running one sub off of the amp. For substage, I'm currently running four RE Audio REX 8" subs sealed in .42 cu ft each. They are being driven by an Alpine PDX-1.600 with 600w RMS (birth sheet says 666w, it's the Amp of the Beast). Overall, I have been satisfied with them - if do upgrade, they will go into my Silverado. That being said, I'm looking for more output and an upgrade in o…

I finally took the time out to measure my trunk for a box for my brand new still in the box 2 x 12" Dcon d4 subwoofers. This is going in a 1983 Cutlass Supreme. Height: 14.75" Width: 38" Depth: 21 &1/2". I have no idea how those measurements would convert into cubic feet for the subs. Will a box built to these specs work with these subs? Amp is a Rockford Fosgate 1051s rated at 1100 watts bridged. I jumped the gun and ordered subs before measuring. I realize the trunk is wide but not tall, so box height would be limited, which makes for a somewhat smaller box. Probably should have gone with 10"s. But I'll try to work with what I got. I know in terms of sou…
