Hi all, I've just received a 15" Xcon today! It's for a friend of mine. We will build a big ported box, with a design we got from Fishercustoms. This will go in a (very) small french car with about 1300 watts rms on it. I will take some pictures to post here. But, wow, what a big and Heavy driver!!! I will be able to tell you all what I think about this beast!! I have a 15" Icon on a saz 1000, so, I already know what is a good sounding sub!!!!!!

6.9 cuft@32hz. 101.75sqin of port. I shortened it by about 5 inches, widened it 1 inch, and made it 1 inch deeper.

Well, Acidburn, Beatdominator, Johnecon2000, and I went up to Prescott AZ today for a local meet and greet, and they had a mic up there so I thought, what the hell, was wondering what my ICON 15's would do with just 1500 watts to them would do. Conditions: - Amps had been on all day and where very very hot to the touch - Subs have been beat'n on all day long showing people and giving demos, coils where allready heated up when this score was taken. - Enclosure tuned to 35hz for street beat, not a good recipe for SPL, but never the lesss, keep that in mind. All in all this set up could easially break the 150db mark if everything was cooled down and had a fresh burp. THe IC…

Here's a few shots that JBLCAMRY took of his new subs. He has four of these going into his little GEO ground pounder. These are still in the prototype stage and being tested by JBLCAMRY to make sure they can hang with our quality of woofers. So in the mail, I gots a package... I went over to mom's to get it since I don't trust my neighbors... lol. Long story short... I stalked the UPS page since I was given my tracking number last night by Mark... I called out of work to enjoy a long riding day and wasted alot of gas.. Not only is the Icon a beast, I have to back down on the output so that I can hear my interiors properly.. I am trying to decided between an ICON and XCON 12" sub. I have a 1.1CF sealed box and plan on sending 1200W RMS to the sub. Which driver is a better fit for this power. I like the XMAX gains when stepping up to the XCON, but I am just not sure if I can make use of that excursion given 1200W. Thoughts?

Have some questions bout my xcon

Please help me properly invest my Christmas money. I am considering an Icon 12/d1 to pair with my RF 1000bdcp amp. It is important to note that I am an old school basshead who listens to Techmaster, Bass Patrol, Dynamix II, etc. The ability to play 20-25 Hz notes is a MUST. I've got room for about 2.5 cubes in my xB and lean toward a sealed box for the best mega deep notes. Any advice is appreciated!

I scored this classic ICON the other day. It's brand new and has never seen power. it was in the original box from SSA with the stickers and brochure and the blue foam pads were still intact. I was told it was a D2 so I planned on wiring it in series and powering it with a US Acoustics 2300 at 4 ohms bridged. I hooked up the US Acoustics and it was screaming and then the fan kicked on immediately. I hooked up my DMM and found out the ICON is actually 1.5/1.6 ohms. So wiring in series results in 3.1 ohms and not 4 ohms. I just sold my US Amps USA-1000 so the only amp I have left that would be able to handle the new ohm load is an older US Amps USA-200. I'm getting 2 12 ssa zcons. Going to put them in a 1998 Honda civic in the trunk. Need some ideas on a ported box for it.

First thing I will make abundantly clear: most people by now know that I’m a regular poster on SSA and a member of the Tech Team. Aaron did not send this to me to review, I didn’t get it for free, I wasn’t asked to buy it, or any situation in that vein. When I expressed interest in getting an Icon, Aaron asked if I would be willing to review it. I said yes but made sure he understood that if it was a sub-par product, I wouldn’t hold anything back. Going for a new mid highs setup!! Taking out the ken woods. I have two SSA Icon 15s for my lows. Looking for 2 6.5s and 4 6x9s... And I'll maybe keep my crescendo super tweeters. Any suggestions?? What would yall put in y'alls ride if you had a price limit of 250 for each. (I want to hear about y'alls goals) saying you had two 15 icons!!
