Just wondering if there is any difference in that model than the newest one? He's actually a member on here also under the name dwnrodeo but he's not so active he said. -

Direct quote from DIYma: I just installed a 12" Icon in a sealed nder the backseat of my silverado. I have to say that SSA you guys did an amazing job with this one. One of the best drivers i've heard without a doubt. I'm running it off of a JL 500/1 and I absolutely love this thing. It's only been played for about 2 hours so it still needs some time to break in. The transient response and accuracy is amazing, much better than the W7 and comparable to the W6 but with more output and much better lows. In the sealed box i have now it reminds me of how low my Type X hit in it's ported box. It just eats the lows up no problem. It blends so well with everything even though i h… -

This sucks!! I told the guy at the audio shop to use as much trunk space thats possible for my zcon 15' but i jus picked up the box nd i still have like 3 inches in length in space... Atm its a 4.0cu ft but wouldnt those 3 inches even make it better? Nd its tuned at 32hz! That box cost me 260$ i'll post some pics up soon! -

I have my amplifier's gain set around 2500wrms. My commute to work is 50 minutes one way. I have been pounding on my XCON now for about a month (atleast a full hour a day) with well over rated wrms. So far it sounds clean, no mechanical noise or distortion that I can hear. The cone does get warm but no stinky. No coil rub at all. I need a recone due to a cosmetic flaw on my part. I accidently got expanding foam on the cone which has not affected anything but looks. So I figured on would pound on the sub and see what happens. So far the sub works flawlessly. 3" aluminum coil ftw. Good job to SSA. There is no doubt in my mind that this sub will function beautifully for yea… -

These things in the right box can really get low and loud im driving and have to lower the volume so i can drive straight because all the pounding they make my god does my head vibrate soo much i get dizzy never had that feeling before. I love driving by others with 12" or 15" subs trying to show off i just turn up my volume game over its ridiculous people think i have 4 12's and when they see 2 10s their jaws just drop and its funny lol i stil need to deaden my car but i get lazy to do it anyways im super happy i bought these from a fellow forum memb… -

One thing I have noticed about my xcon is that it hits a certain frequency range with a much greater intensity than the rest. It lacks any kind of upper bass. but the lows rock with it. So I want to know from all the people who own a xcon what songs hit the best on your xcon. I'm not asking for a general bass tester for any sub. I want to know what songs are great with a 15" xcon. What songs hit so hard that they make your doors push outward and your windshield flex. So far I have found that 1:12 into tick tock by banana inc is really loud, and bass i love you isn't half bad. But I wan't more ideas -

Hey, my enclosure is 2.2 cubes and tuned to 32hz for the 12" icon, but that feeling of upgradeing is kicking in. Instead of selling it, I want to make some more enclosures for it to keep me occupied. I need a few plans...so what volume and tunning would you recommend. Give me some ideas... -

Well I think Im goin to go with a Zcon 18 for my trailblazer. I have enough room for the 18 but what would be best for the box size and tuning. I know 6 to 8 cubes is optimal with 31-37hz tuning but what have you done or do you think is the best? Also how should I have the sub and port face? I'm pretty sure sub up port back. For amp and electrical, I have a crescendo BC2k and a deka 9a31 in the back. I'm not going for numbers, just straight daily. I listen to mostly rap and that's what I want it to sound best with. My max dimensions are 46w x 32.5d x 20h. thanks in advanced and if you need anymore info please ask. -

Recently I've been thinking about trying to fit a 15" Icon in the trunk of my Sunfire as opposed to the 12" I've planned. I typically would just use a slotted port, but the amount of displacement taken up by the port would bring the box pretty much all the way down to 3cft as opposed to the 4 that's supposed to be optimal. So I've been reading a bit and the idea of using Aero ports kind of interested me. However, does the recommendation for port area remain the same (12-16 square inches per cubic foot)? If so, I would need 2 6" ports or 4 4" ports, and in both configurations the port length would have to be too long. Is my only bet for fitting a 15" is to settle with some… -

my buddy had me design a box for 4 icon 12's and i was wondering how this would work. box would be tuned to 28hz external: 17x38x41 internal: 14x33x38 port: 5x14 (20 long) (firing back) double baffel going into an explorer keeping the second row and running on a 3000d or 3500d (he said he was gonna try and find a 3000d used in good shape) and box would end up at about 8.78cubft after all displacement. the top and back parts were just there for me to get an image in my head. any suggestions? think it'll sound good? port nose problems? just tell me how ya feel i guess lol also, please check my math on tuning ect. if you dont mind -
