Sound Solutions Audio (SSA®)

Ok, decided to throw this 10D2 in my truck to demo at a show tomorrow. Wanted to go with a really flat response, so had Fallen from ROE throw together a box design in a pinch tuned @ 31hz. 24.75in^2 or port. Volume after displacement it's 1.25ft^3. This is the first time i've really played with the ICON in this respect. Absolutley love it.

did awesome at my first Usaci show, was a 5x regional show lots of good competition. We only clamped like 2.2k out of a pair rising to 5 ohms

I just purchased an SSA DCON 12S4, and am anxiously awaiting it's arrival. It will be driven with an Orion XTR 375.2, getting about 400 watts RMS. Components will be Dayton Audio RS180's driven by an Arc Audio FD2100, and Morel MDT-12's driven off of an Audio Art 70.2. The source unit is a Pioneer DEH-P880PRS. The sub will be installed in a 2002 Ford F250 Crew Cab. I do not want the enclosure sitting up on the seat, so I will be building a custom L shaped box that will sit right behind the center console up onto the middle of the rear seat, with the sub firing up, as well as the vent. hi, i just got me a 02 king cab nissan fronteir and i have around 3 ft^3 of air space to play with. i could do more but i would like to keep the ensclure below the back window line. i figure since i dont have that much space it would have to be sealed. so i am looking for sound quality but would like it to be able to drop low and be decently loud and i listen to rap and r and b. so i am wondering would 2 12" icons powerd off of a saz1500d or a saz2000d since this wont be happening until after xmas with 1.5 ft^3 for each sub be louder and cleaner then 3 10" icons on a 3000d ( roughly 750 rms on each sub) with 1 ft^3 per sub. the front stage will consist 2 of the h…

So brown santa (UPS guy) dropped off a fairly heavy package today. I just want to say this thing is AMAZING. Bye bye RD Audio, HELLO SSA! Oh, and to Mark, if you're reading this sorry about getting so impatient about the build time, the wait was more than worth it! I got it installed in my 2005 Dodge Ram 1500 Quad Cab in a ~4 cube box tuned to 30hz. This driver is godlike compared to my two 12" RD Sonances. I couldn't be happier.

orion says sealed enclosures are louder to ear than ported ones. my goals are good sq but with the ability to get loud too. so it thats true that sealed is perceived louder than ported i might go with it. whats your experience there?

We slapped my old crx/suv (shop box) style box in Sound=Vibrations car to see what it would meter. With under powered subs @ 34 hz it did a 142.7. Congrats Ernie!

Ok I think it was last sunday. I was delivering pizza, I had just been listening to music not loud while I was taken a delivery, I turned my car off and walked into the pizza shop for maybe 5 minutes tops. Came back out turned my car on and drove off. Still listening to music then i realized that the sub was not on. The amp was on so I just figured maybe a connection problem. Checked the terminals they were fine, I pushed the sub in to see if the coil was scratching and nothing. I then took it out the next day and no connection problems on the inside. I did a pop test and nothing. No signal at all. I checked the tinsels and they seem fine. I could only see them on the out…

Just got back from the AZ Sound USACI show. Got first in my class, I thought that score was respectable, but..... Next weeks show i'm adding a audio control line driver and gonna tweak a few things see if this daily driver set up can break into the 150's...anyways, here's a few pics of the score...

I need some advice please. I just bought a 2012 VW Passat with plenty of space in the trunk and I have plans to upgrade the electrical. I have never had any subs in a ported box (and plan to build a ported box, 4.5 - 5 cubic feet, for this system), have never had subs bigger than 12"s and have never heard SSA subs. I have a DC 5.0K amp that I would like to run at 2 ohms, so I was thinking I could go with either 2 ICON 12" dual 2's or one ZCON 15" dual 1. I mostly listen to rock and metal music, but do enjoy some dub step and bass drops, so I would like to be loud but sound great doing it. What would you go with? hey guys, trying to figure out what to use- recommended enclosure looks to be about the same, I may do about 4.5cuft ported for the pair of them, tuned around 30ish? (lower maybe I see recommend down to 26hz?) I've always felt the enclosures I've built down around 30hz have had plenty of low end but I've never tuned one that low so maybe I don't know what I'm missing. Going in a 2007 acura rdx (fancy cr-v) amp is a mmats 3k, wondering if I should slightly over power the icons or have a damn reliable pair of xcons. 90% of the time they'll be babied by my significant other as it's her DD. the other 10% of the time i'll be abusing the crap out of them when I drive it. well after along time of driving my brand new truck around with a ton of weight in the back, two monster 15's and a huge box, batts, amps, etc...I decided it was time to get back to a single 12". Plus with John having his truck so close for demo's, and that truck being above and beyond loud IMO, thought it was time. Found some great looking prefab's locally here in Phoenix, so decided to try one out. Here are the specs of the box. Hello everybody, I made up my mind : I really want to buy the 15" SSA Icon sub. I receive a few messages of AAron, but I am still waiting with my money burning my pockets :bigclap: I cannot order from the website because of the shipping info needed. What a pitty I know it will take a long time to be shipped over here in the Carribeans, but I want it, and that's it !!! I already know what kinf of enclosure I will build : a simple 3 cu feet sealed enclosure. I would like to try it ported, but it needs more room, and I don't want to go over 3 cu ft. If you have somme advices, I take everything! Don't worry!

I bought an SSA Icon 10 from my son a while back. My son is SQJEEP here. We got around to building the box for it. We used the box design in the tech section. Fantastic box design....We built it exactly to the design and holy shit this thing pounds. We did the 1.35 cubes. It's not finished yet but here are some pics.It's running off a Zed built Usacoustics USA 2150 bridged and rated at 500 watts. Please note....The panel sticking up in the back is the amp rack and it is going to be replaced. It's the old one and it's just in there temporarily. So i just got my car back from Freeman's friday around 1 am. The guy worked on it far past closing hrs and did a wonderful job.
