If this is in the wrong section, mods please move it. Otherwise, I wanted to comment on the customer service at SSA. I recently ordered a Sundown SAX-100.4 and a Sundown SAZ-2000D. I was quickly notified that there will be a wait on the 100.4 Then a couple days later I asked about the SAZ as I figured I should have had a tracking # by now and was affraid it was going to be backordered as well (such is my luck) and I got an immdediate response back that they'd check on it. To top it all off I got the response from the check practically seconds later that I should have the tracking # tonight. WOW!! is all I can say, that is some quick service. I wish customer service…

Just thought it was worth posting them up here from npdang's review recently. Very few companies are lucky enough to have Kippel results, especially one our size. Great quote from said review: Looks like 1-way xmag of ~19mm, close enough to rated specs. Very nicely centered curve, with good symmetry. Not as extended of a plateau as you might see with the best designs, but a terrific example of a textbook overhung motor. Typical Le curve for a motor without a faraday ring/sleeve, with inductance increasing in the rearward stroke. Appears as if suspension was perfectly mated to the capabilities of the motor. All in all, good results. I didn't observe any excess mechanical …

Jonecon2001 had a great idea the other day and suggested we did a thread with all SSA type backgrounds. I'll make a few of our product photos and if you guys want more post up what it is and i'll get to them when I can. As I add downloadable backgrounds, they will be to the this first post, so check back often. Here's mine.. Dual screens FTW! 1.) 2.) 3.) 4.)

Just curious to hear all of your responses. We know why people say not to buy it and 99 percent of the time, cost comes into the picture. The only other potential negative I've ever noticed was in terms of how some of the lower lines used to be packaged that caused a little paint damage on the basket during shipping. So assume you're around a bunch of people who've never heard of nor actually heard SSA subs. What do you say that convinces them it's a solid purchase over the competition? Asking for purely informational purposes and keep in mind I have an ICON myself on order.

Got: 2002 Chevy Impala Hifonics BXi1208d Amp JVC KW-NX7000 Optima Yellow Top Battery Big 3 Upgrade *STOCK Alternator* Getting: 15" Icon/Box Combo From Fisher Customs Whole Car Dynamated Is this a good setup? Dont complain about the amp... got it for only $100 NEW Should I get the D1 or D2 sub if I want to hook up the amp at 2ohms at 900watts? I have the stock alternator thats why and i dont think the 1200 watts would be good on my system even though I know I wont get it since the amp is highly overrated. I know the best thing to do is to get a ho alternator but the money is not there & I wanna go ahead and do this setup. Also how many watts would I get if i wired it a…

I have had my eyes on ssa's woofers for quite a while and think i'm finally about to purchase my next sub(s). I have always wanted to try out the Icon but have recently seen a video on youtube of a single dcon 10" that was very impressive. I've been looking at the new combo deals with the sundown amps on ssa's store and like the prices. I have never heard an ssa woofer in person and would like some opinions from those with experience and knowledge of their products. Heck, I might even try the 15" icon (sealed); the 12"icon or 10"dcons would be p…

So i just got my car back from Freeman's friday around 1 am. The guy worked on it far past closing hrs and did a wonderful job. To see the box specs and the ideas about the build go to this link: I've been listening to a variety of songs and different kinds of music and it all sounds great. Louder than my Ported 15" FI Q for sure and looks sick! The only difference between what i planned on doing and what ended up happening is that instead of the box being around 5.75 after displacements and bracing its only a little over 4 which i know isnt ideal but its the biggest possible to fit it in my trunk. It still sounds great so im not too disappointed about that. It isn't qui…

First of all I want to apologize because this post is LONG overdue, but finally it is here. I have been enjoying this setup since the summer, but thought I was going to be going to get something else installed and so I was waiting to make this thread until I did, but I have not found anytime and its not really a priority in my life right now to finish this... I'm satisfied for now and probably over christmas break will finish.... So I purchased (4) SoundSolution Audio Dcons in the 10" size and a Sundown 1000D. I had a custom box built but due to having to put it in my trunk, I had to decrease the size... the box was designed by Shizzon (thank you immensely) and built by F…

Well, Acidburn, Beatdominator, Johnecon2000, and I went up to Prescott AZ today for a local meet and greet, and they had a mic up there so I thought, what the hell, was wondering what my ICON 15's would do with just 1500 watts to them would do. Conditions: - Amps had been on all day and where very very hot to the touch - Subs have been beat'n on all day long showing people and giving demos, coils where allready heated up when this score was taken. - Enclosure tuned to 35hz for street beat, not a good recipe for SPL, but never the lesss, keep that in mind. All in all this set up could easially break the 150db mark if everything was cooled down and had a fresh burp. THe IC…

Let me start off by saying that the sub in question is in non functioning condition right now, so I can't make any changes or adjustments to see what helps. I am trying to decide on a recone, or another sub choice. I had the sub (D1 coils) running at 2 ohm on a BRZ2400.1D in a 3.2ft^3 net sealed enclosure. 1/0 wire from front battery to a XS D3100 in the rear and then to the amp. I had the LPF set at 80hz with 24db slope and subsonic all the way down on the amp (15hz I think). I have a fairly eclectic music choice, but listen to rock and hip-hop mostly. This thing would hit the lows(40-30hz) nicely. I had a slight tickle in my throat and could visually see my door panel…

#ThirstyThursday night live streams on Instagram for all things SSA over on the dr.lindsey_SSA account. Lindsey and I decided to bring it back as people liked it and its another way to reach out to our SSAFamily. Moving forward, we are keeping it a little more structured like a mini-TV segment. Last night we had: News & Updates Product Highlight Open Questions Dr. Lindsey's tips for guys and sliding into the DM's Drink of the night The "show" will stay light and informal and not always heavy duty audio and maybe have a guest.

Finally arrived today! Testing will begin shortly. And before anyone asks, no pricing is not set, we do not have a release date and the T/S parameters are not finalized. So with that out of the way, here are a few pictures of the prototype. There is a few possible changes that could still occur. So here are a few shots of the real one, (the teaser pictures were mostly the concept driver prior to this prototype), the silver basket 12 is the first Icon prototype I use daily in my car, and the other 8" driver placed for scale is the leader of the segment, SS RL-i 8, and a 1st run Icon 10 for fun too. No, that dust cap will not go to production, it is a blank one for te…

First off my slow ass car...i think im justified in not spending thousands to make it a tad faster. Went from..15" ssd copper coil at 2ohm on an alpine 1000wrms sealed To a larger box with 6" aeroport.. And yesterday came my sundown 1200D + SSA icon D2 running at 1ohm (curtousy of johnecon2001) :bigclap: Im still playing with the settings but man am i satisfied with this combo. Imo the sound quality between the SSD and the Icon are almost identical, but the output from the icon rocks my socks. It hits lows like nobodys business, which the SSD hit um, just not nearly as loud. And that sundown amp stays cool as an ice cube. My hats off to sundown and SSA for the…

Hello. I know this probably an annoying question, but if some one could give me an honest opinion I would really appreciate it. I have a 2007 Tahoe with 2 12w6v2's. They are in a ported box at the manufactures specs of 1.5 cubic ft per driver. It definitely sounds good. I am real happy with the box design and how the whole system intergrates into my vehicle. I have a Sundown 2000d on the way. I realize this is too much power but I wanted to have room for upgrades. I was looking at the specs on the 10 Icon and it looks like it would be a good match for this setup. I believe I could modify my box to hold the tens without too much trouble and at the same time keep m…

Hey people I am going to be getting 2 DCON 10's for under the back seat of my pickup, and I know that the optimum recommended ported box is 1.25 @ 33hz after displacement, so my question is, since this will be in a pick up under the back seat, with the subs forward firing and the ports are going to be on the sides of the box firing into the doors, what type of port should I use, aero ports or slot ports. Also if I should go with aeros, what size and what length, and if I should go with slot ports, what dimensions, also I say a guy on here that put his DCON 10 in a 1.3 cu. ft. box @ 33 hz, what advantages and disadvantages will I see by going with this size over the 1.25 r…

I hate internet shopping but I have approximately 750 watts RMS @ 1 ohm and would like to run a ported 10 in my 2012 WRX. I was just wondering how the GCON stacks up to the Fi Q in terms of Sound Quality? Keep in mind, I only have some listening time with the Fi Q, and IMHO, it is a bargain for the price. If the GCON is close enough, it may be a bargain to the bargain.

I'm doing a budget system and I'm trying to decide on which sub will work best with my space limit and amp. My space constraint is because I've got to leave enough room to get the stroller in the trunk of my 2001 E class. I'm going to build the box to make best use of the space I've got. Based on my calculations I can get up to about 2.25 CF slot ported tuned to 30hz. It's going to have to be long and rather shallow but should work. That will give me enough space to meet the optimal enclosure spec for either a 12" DCON or a 10" GCON. The 10" GCON needs 1.75-2.0 CF tuned to 28-33hz The 12" DCON needs 2.25 CF tuned to 28-33hz I'm going to be using a powerbass ASA 400.2x …
