Alright guys I'm new to SSA and Fi. I'm Ramin, i live in Cali. I'm paying my friend about 100 a week for a Bl 12" w/ cooling, a Nine.1 Amp, and a custom 2.4cuft box tuned to 32hz. (i'm paying 640 altogether) He had the setup for about 2 weeks, and now decided he's gonna get the bl 18. So he's selling me his new setup. Well firstly, is there anything i should change about that setup. I could for example sell that amp and get a new one. Secondly, i'm not the best with car audio. My friends help me with most of the installation etc. I know a decent amount though. The setup will be going in a 07 Audi A4, and a couple friends have been telling me that i'd need a new head unit …

I plan on buying 1 18'' Fi.BL with these options:dual 2 ohm,cooling,flatwind coil,daily option.Hooked up to a US Amps MD1D thats 1200 rms at 1 ohm.the BL's handle 1000 rms do you think the bl can handle the whole 1200 rms from the amp?I love loud bass but want it to hit low notes as well so what should i tune it to? With a ported box from 6-9 cubic ft. BTW just for a lucky guess how much db will I possibly b hitting will it be over 145db possibly 148db-149db.is that loud? Please answer all my questions. P.S. I found the US Amps MD1D for just 209.00 is that a good price or is it the base price? Also how good are US Amps from a 1/10? Are they better than Kicker and Hifonics…

Well, my brother purchased a kicker L7 12 about a year ago, and was powering it with a 1kw kenwood amp that really put out more like 3-400, and after selling him my bxi2006d he noticed that he kept hearing a slapping type sound. He pulled it out of the box and you could just smell the coil, and the sub was very hot to the touch. It wasn't the tinsels slapping or anything, it was something inside. He probably messed it up with that crappy old amp, so now he wants a new sub. With the hifonics amp I suggested a dual 2ohm BL with cooling, flatwind, and p chamfer options. Is there any time frame on these to be available? As in a month. Two months. Longer? Just been looking around and can't find any estimates in the past few months.

What I have now: 2006 toyota corrolla Cadence TXA1000D (1000rms @ 1 ohm) I have about 6.5ft^3 airspace before driver and port displacement I want one ported sub ( a 15" or prefferably an 18" if I have enough airspace after port and driver displacement) I'm undecided whether to go with SSD, Q, or BL with my airspace and power. This will be for a daily driver with an occasional trip to local competitions for fun, so a little on the SPL side. Any help would be greatly appreciated Beau

i entered my first ever bass race comp with my new system. loaded 15" BTL on an MA Audio hk4000d in a 4 cubes box tuned to 34hz playing "air forces". i qualified with a 139.8 in the 130-139.9 class. i went over the 140 mark and hit 141 for a bit, but had to drop it down to avoid getting put in the 140 class. however, i got eliminated in the first round by someone with a lot more experience, i only lost by .2 db's because i was at 139.9 with a few seconds left and had to drop it down fast so not to break over the 140 mark and risk getting DQ'd. i ended with a 139.6. sad thing is that i had the guy beat the entire time until the last few seconds. there is another comp comi…

I've been researching car audio for awhile but just now became a member here but so far this is what i have in mind for my system.... - Fi 15" Q sealed in a custom box (dont know size yet.. 2.6?) $274 - Sundown SAE-1200D $310 - Alpine CDA-9886 $299 Then i need wires for my amp and my sub... i was thinking of getting THIS for my amp and then use THIS for my subwoofer? Does that work or should i do something else? Also i would need to buy some extra 0 Gauge wire to do the Big 3.... Anything else??? Thanx in advance, Alex

I have a older dual slug Q and I want to run two Q's now. Would I run into any problems running a newer Q with athe older one in a ported enclosure?

hey guys! i would appreciate some imput from everyone here k so, right now i got 2 12" MTX Jackhammers with a sony xplod amp.. It pounds pretty hard but i've been doing some research, and im set on getting a FI 15" sub and a Hifonics amp.. But I've got a few questions - Is that $90 difference that i would be spending for the BL be worth it over the 15" SSD? (BL with Hyper Pole and Flatwind) (SSD with copper coil and BP Power) - Im looking at just a one sub setup, so do i order Dual 1 or Dual 2 ? the amp at 1 Ohm puts out 1200RMS and 2 Ohms is 900RMS would i hear a big difference in the BL over the SSD. I have tried to get ahold of someone from Fi since apiril i have recieved one email back asking if he had helped me yet at the beginning of june. I have sent email after email and i have yet to get a reponse since then. i need to order a recone for a 18" n3 7 spider with sp4 basket. i am hoping someone on here will be about to help me out, i wish i would of waited the extra months and got a normal basket so i could order recones normally. i would go ahead and order normal baskets with recones but pending 65$ a piece extra right now and having to buy 2 recones instead of one isnt an option. thanks -getloud

i pluged it up to my home cd player and it was playing for about 12 seconds and my cd player like cut off and restarted so i unplug'd it realy quick like. Did i mess up my sub. It looks fine and doesnt smell burn or anything soooo???? was it just the cd player..

Hello there. I am looking for a subwoofer to compete in Swedeish serie of Bassrace this summer,I've been looking at the BL's and the BTL's and i am not realy sure what to go with. Because thay need to handle music both loud and ("Good" if you can say that about SPL woofers). The Amp i got at this moment is a Mutant 1500xxx,so i have abit over 1500wrms to play with. I have send mails to you guys at FI somehow i haven't got an replay yet so i'll take this in the forum insteed. Is it possible for me as a Swedish cusomer to buy subs directly from you? Hey Scott, Are the specs the same on my subwoofer, power handling wise? Is it still 1000 rms or is it more now? I'm trying to figure out the right voltage so I can set the gains on my amp with my DMM. Oh and the shirt is awesome, thanks alot for the shirt and the stickers.

hey guys, so im new to car audio but have been doing quite a bit of research.. i first planned on getting two 15" jls but then i found fi and would really love to get to 15" bls and two amps to power each. ive got a 93 ford explorer with completely stock stereo, all four speakers are blown so i need all new speakers and an amp to power them. i also need a head unit. so i basically need everything new. i plan on doing the big three upgrade and any other things necessary to have a clean install, i also plan on making my own box. if anyone has any suggestions or anything to say about my plans id love to hear about it! another thing is that i see people giving bls 1500 watts…

i got 1 12" ssd in a ported box and I wanted to screw the amp onto the box, is that gonna cause any problems?

I have 4 15" kicker's in my car right now running off 2 hifonics 2006's. i am thinking about putting either 4 18's into a truck or 2 18's of the trunk of my car. i want to flex and have a lot of bass. i already sound loud i my car but i want more. do you think i am jumping out there to far with purchasing 4 fi btl 18's? and if so what sloutions do any of you have for me to get flex and more bass? Oh just fyi the car is a lincoln towncar
