  2. So... I was on my way home listening to my Q and it suddenly stopped working. I parked and left it on and felt the sub while it was playing. When I pushed in just a tad, I felt it move a little. But when I let off...nothing. I took the sub out and found that the black plastic piece that holds the push terminals in came un glued. Im assuming that's the problem... I tried to get a reading with my DMM, but I think its a piece of junk. It just read 1. My gain is at about half. Amp is a planet audio rxd1000d which im selling soon. 2.5ft^3 box at 32hz. Don't think all that matters though considering I just need to know how to fix it right? Anyways...thanks in advance. Jonathan.…

Alright, I have a MTX Thunder 2150 and MTX 7000 12 in sealed pre-fab as a temporary setup in my 08 extended cab Sierra. Signal is off stock Bose HU rear driver speaker on a LOC. Needless to say I want a bit more oomph along w/ a my passenger seat back. Also, I believe I'm getting a full signal there but if someone knows otherwise please let me know. So I am willing to give up my rear center seat space, and am looking to do a small box behind the center console rather than downfiring under a seat. I am thinking a FI SSD 10 combined w/ a used MMATS, or possibly a new American Bass amp around 1000 to 1250 rms (and yes, I'll consider a used Sundown). Want to keep it US made b…

  10. okay so I have posted on here a time or two before when first acquiring my FI audio speakers. I am driving a 2010 Chevy Malibu two fully loaded 12" Fi Q's, built for a sealed enclosure due to the lack of space to slide a box in the trunk. I have a Brutus BRZ 2400 hooked up to them, running them wired down to 1 ohm resistance. I also have a kinetic 2400 battery, nothing done to battery up front or alternator. 0 gauge knukoncepts ran throughout This is my daily driver and i run the system every time im on the road (on highways for 2.5+ hours a day) the RMS rating for these subs is 1500 apiece if i remember correctly, and from what I have heard, added resistance when turnin…

Rather then stay up until 3 in the morning for firechat due to time differences i though id ask here... Need a sub for my HT. Currently I have two BL's in my car. I want something that that plays lower with more depth then the BL's. I love low lows with presence. IB is not a option in my current place. What is my options and what options should I select? is there something else I should specify? Sealed ported whatever I can build the box and consider my self a bass-head intermediate but this whole HT thing has me baffled. I know Scott has his finger in other sub companies as well, which makes me think why Fi and not any of the other companies he has a part in? I ne…

  16. This is a box plan I made, and want some output on this. I was hoping someone could double check "my work" as you would call it, to see if everything seems okay. Image attached along with specs below: box image Specs: For a 15" fi ssd in a 1st gen mazda 6 trunk. .75 MDF Gross box volume 4.05 cu ft. Net volume: I suck at math, no clue. Hoping to be within 3-3.5 cu ft range? 4" aeroport tuned @ 33hz. ***optional setup (I am leaning towards this)*** 4.05 cu ft. gross with 6" aeroport tuned @ 35hz. Dimensions: 15" tall x 35" wide x 30" BD x 4" TD x 29.15" angled front panel length. As I said, honest opinions are GREATLY appreciated, as I want to nail this project. Thanks! -…

it doesn't make sense, when i chose the p chamfer option it added $10 then i chose the cooling option too and it doesn't have a price. and there's a note that it i chose both p chamfer and cooling, uncheck the p chamfer because p chamfer is incuded in the package of the cooling. in short, if i get both options, the p chamfer and the cooling, i will get it for free, but if i only get the p chamfer option, i need to pay addtl $10 for it. can someone explain this for me, thanks. i'm also planning on getting the universal option, my question is, if i get this option will there be any changes in the performance of the sub? or side effects?

I am running a fullyloaded bl15 off a planet audio bb2400 making about 1600rms. Electrical- big three, 1/0 throughout, second battery in rear, voltage stays around 14.3, drops to 13.6 for tones. My first enclosure was 5ft^3 tuned 36, 60 sq" port, with bracing, angle boards and routered port edges. Sub faces drivers seat while port fires up behind passenger seat. I hit a 143.8 meca style. Built a new box 3.5 ft^3 tuned 45 with all the bracing, angle boards and routered port edges and dropped to 141.7. I wanted to find out what box changes I may make to increase score, and if I was crazy trying to reach a 150 with a bl?

  21. Hey guys Im going to build a new box for my 18" Q. I have 6.7cu. ft. before disp. and port.. which I know is small, which is why I need to use aero's. Right now I have 4x 4"x10" aero ports. can someone give me recommendations. Do I need to get 6" ports?? I know for port area that 2 of these 4" aero's isnt enough, but I think if I go to 3, mine are to short... Can I use the flares, and use PVC pipe to make them longer??

Reconing my 15's to 18's. Plan on using 6 spoke 18" baskets, linear roll spiders, not set on cones and possibly a coil with a slightly bigger WW. Any possible issues I might see? Suggestions comments?

So I'll be running my SSA Zcon 12" on 3k for now until I get around to purchasing a recone for an sp4 motor I got in a trade. My problem is..I have a trunk car and limitations on box sizes. Depth and height are a problem for me. I have come to the conclusion that the biggest I can fit is an L port enclosure about 3.9-4 cubes. If I give it about 4 inches of port and still have net, will this enclosure server well to the sp4? I'll be running 3k @ the sp4. If not recommend what you all have experimented with.

I'm looking at buying 2 15" Q's with the bp option and just using it for daily driving no competitions. I wasn't sure if it is worth paying more money for the SAZ-3000D or if the AQ2200D is just as good of a fit for my application. I have been through a lot of bad amps and want to go with a good quality and very reliable amp that I won't be afraid it will break after a year of use. I don't know if anyone has or heard a setup like this with either amp but any input would be greatly appreciated.
