i would like to ask about the best enclouser firing direction for this truck? i have a 4 cb. box tuned to 32 hz. sub and port facing the same same way, but facing it forward it puts the port to close to the back of the seat and firing it up flexs the top unreal! can anyone help me with suggestions on a goob enclouser build for a silverado ext. cab truck with a loaded bl 15 on 1500 watts? music prefrence is rock and rap bass tones... thanks for all suggestions...also i would like for it to be loud and hit hard as possible and keep the enclouser size to around 4 cb. tuned to 32 hz. again thanks...

Hi there, I am not sure exactly what I need to have all my settings set at to run my bl 15" and need a little help.. The box is 4 cubes and tuned to 33hz, more importantly the amp is a hifonics brutus BXI-1210D, I need help tuning this for the bl! The amp has "level" or "gain" 9v-0.2v, "Phase"0-180, "bass eq" 0-10db, "subsonic" 15-35Hz, and the "lowpass" 35-250Hz. I need to know where to put the Phase, and Lowpass the most but if someone knows exactly how to tune everything feel free to tell me!! Thank you!

As I stated in another topic, I burnt one of the voice coils in one of my 12" SSDs. One of the voice coils is still fine. I was just wondering...until I get the recone kit in the mail, is there any way to wire up my amp to just one of the voice coils? The reason I thought about this is I did the AA battery test (hooking up the + and - to the sub to hear the pop) and since that made noise, I was thinking maybe it could run off one voice coil. If that is possible, would it be bad to have one sub like that and one sub wired normally? Technically wouldn't it just be 1.5 ohms? My amp is 1 ohm stable. Thanks a bunch, Mike

Fella's, I am running 2 BL 12's in a ported 4.23 cubic ft enclosure tuned at 33hz. Is this enclosure large enough for the BL subs? The enclosure is 1" thick all sides, braced inside 1" thick and has a 2" front baffle so i know its strong enough.

I have one SSD10 D2 with copper coils in a sealed box with about 600 watts rms coming from a Phoenix Gold Ti600.2 I know going ported will give me more output but i'd really like to stay with the sealed box I have because it fits perfect in the truck. So, i've been looking into getting a 1000 watt amp like a Sundown 1000 or Alpine PDX 1000. Would this upgrade be worth it or should I stick with what I have?

Why does the FI Q have 27mm xmax and the BL only 21. Does this increase with options like the BTL? I'm sure the numbers are correct. Any help will be greatly appreciated. Trying to research which subs to use for my application. 418s in a single reflex bandpass. I heard lil johns 1612s ssd's and they were very smooth. I've been leaning towards the BL's myself but cannot for 1 second knock the SSD's. just a little confused on the Q's Xmax being the most in the lineup. Thanks again - Joe Rod

So the plan is to buy 2 Fi BL 12's dual 1ohm, with the cooling option and flat wind what is the new rms power rating (approx) I know it depends on the enclosure so optimal ported at 33hz. In a Jeep Grand Cherokee I plan on running the two on either a Re audio VLX-3DE or Hifonics BRZ2400 (2400 watts)

hey all i just ordered my first fi btl 18 . i choose all the options that were availible for it so i guess it is fully loaded right? anyways my real question is how THE heck am im going to fit two in my civic ? i know most might say i prob shoulda thought of that first but i will find a way to make them fit . my best idea yet was to actually take out back seats and extend the trunk into the car so when you look into he trunk it looks like its reall deep. than build THE box into the trunk extension . basicly you would open the trunk and the woofers would sit right were the back of the seat was originaly and the box would be ported on the inside behind driver and passenger…

Sooo, I am now in the process of designing my box for a single 10" sub down firing in a ported enclosure. I got the rough idea for the design from those AudioFire boxes for trucks. The sub will be down firing right behind the center console, the main box will go up to right above the rear seat from the ground, the port would then go from the box to the back of the seat and do a 90 degree and back towards the front seat. So, the port is going to be pretty much external from the main portion of the box....my question is, how do I go about figuring out the tuning frequency of this port? It is going to be a fairly thin port but pretty long and I am just not to sure. At th…

Alright guys im new here and don't know if this is the right place for this but i have an old box for 2 15's. Its 10 cu.ft tuned to like 33 hz. Im wanting to get some new Btl N2's. But im not sure if i want to stick to 15's or cut the holes out bigger to hold 2 18's. What do you think i should do? Never had 18's. So Im trying to squeeze the most spl's out of it as i can. Also i will be using my Memphis Mojo 4kw amp.

I am just trying to find the T/S parameters for the heat ring option. I am wanting to add it to lower inductance but wanted to know what the new inductance would be. Secondly I will be putting 3500watts to a pair of Q 15's and dont believe I would need any extra cooling options. I will add the chamfering option but being on a tight budget I will probably skip the Bp/cooling option and just go with the standard Q. I also wanted to know what the Mechanical Xmax is? I only plan on using these to Xmax and less but I do like to know all parameters of my speakers before pushing them. Thanks for any help from anyone.

I bought a pair of the 10" BL's with the SPL option a few years ago, maybe 4. I have no use for them anymore as a burp only sub. Is there a way to change them to a musical and burp sub without having to change motors? I know the gap is pretty tight since it's a burp only sub, just not sure if it's as simple as buying a new recone or if it's more expensive.

Well my issue here is a i just picked up a fi btl n2 (came in today) and i'm going to start building the box for it soon. i recently found out to quite a bit of dissapointment, that my rockford fosgate t2500-1bdCP doesn't have a variable subsonic filter, but rather a cheesy switched one. I know i need to tune my amp 2-3 hertz below my enclsoures PTF, but what if my enclosure ends up being out of range or the amplifiers tuning controls? Crossover Controls Low-Pass (LP): 35Hz-250Hz @ 24dB/octave Butterworth Infrasonic: 12dB/octave Butterworth, -3dB @ 28Hz any insight guys?

I'm planning on a new system in my 1970 oldsmobile cutlass. I wanted it to include 2 btl subs with my. rockford fosgate t4000bd amp. I was wonderng if amlnyone has any sugestions on any aftrmarket alternators. I was also wondering if Im able to just add a second alternator to my car or would that increase the voltage were it would screw up the cars electrical as well as burn up the amp. -Thanx, Jack

Alright I started on one more box last week and I am ditching it already. Well im going to finish it for my friends sub, and then start over. I need advice though. Its a daily driver, but I want it to go as loud as possible. I think Ill stay with 32hz 8 Cubes Box Design thanks to rpfuror on caraudio.com Round the ports And 45's in every corner Double Baffled Bracing Any other ideas? Will Sound Deadener(Second Skin) make that much of a difference in SPL score?

My buddy bought a Triple stacked BTL (first gen??) and I currently own the 2010? UFO style BL (without red sticker on bottom of magnet). My main point is will it be worth it to get his BTL? Im not sure how much of a difference the generations actually make but I'm assuming a newer generation BL will perform the same as an older generation BTL. Opinions? Im going basically for SPL and the box is 3.75 ft^3 @ 32 Hz. Please no flaming. Im already one hundred percent satisfied with my BL but just wondering if the BTL will give me that extra boom boom ya know. Ohh, and both the subs are fully loaded 15's and will be ran off of my RF T-1000Bd.

The SSD is a great sub... The SSD is currently being powered by a SAZ-1500d on my stock electrical along with my beautiful Pioneer 860mp as the captain of the ship Anywho When I first purcahsed the sub I only had a 4.5 cu ft ported enclosure for its home and well lets say it was a great experience to say the least. 4.5 cu ft review: 4.5 cu ft enclosure didn't really provide the SQ that I was looking for but it was loud and allowed it to produce a substantial amount of spl. Very noticable to the point it would tickle my ears and this is one sub mind you had friends that rode in my car think I had 2 subs. I enjoyed the 4.5 cu ft enclosure but due to me having copper coil…

what happens when u tune a TL box lower than the drivers Fs ? for exampl the driver in question has an Fs of 26Hz and I would like to tune @ 20Hz besides the obvious wavelength being longer.... does the driver/box not perform quite as efficiently as one with an Fs of 20Hz? btw: how do I test the Fs of a sub ? I have a DVM and tone gen available...is that enough ? thanx guys
