Ok i have two d1 q 15 w/bp power and when I first recieved the subs, they hit extremely hard but after a couple of weeks and a local comp, the subs just dont perform like they used to. when they hit the lows now the bass kind of fades away and sounds like a fart and they dont even put out the pressure like they used to either. I've checked the box first to make sure there were no leaks and everything is fine. I think the spiders have gotten weak cause they just dont "thunder" anymore. Time for recones right?

I just picked up two BTL 18's, dual 2's, fully loaded, and will be running them off of two modded Memphis Mojo MC-2000d amplifiers (1 on each driver at 1 ohm), approx. 3000 watts each. In my vehicle, which is a 2007 Toyota FJ Cruiser, I don't have a whole lot of useable space to work with and still maintain practicality, so the enclosure is going to be a bit tight for specs. I will run the subs inverted to try to save as much airspace as I can, but I only have a total of 11.2 cubes to work with, before port displacement. I will be able to run 4.7 cubes per driver after displacement, while running more than sufficient power to the drivers, at 3000 watts per. Fi recommends…

I am running an AQ-1200D @ .7 ohms to a 15 BL and my friend installed it yesterday and set the gain on the amp a little less than half way and when i turn the bass knob about 3/4 up and turn the volume up to like 25 out of 35 the clipping indicator on the bass knob illuminates on and off with the bass hits on some notes. its aggravating the shit out of me because I just spent alot of money and I dont want my shit to fuck up. He told me the amp could be too small for the sub or the HU is sending out bad waves to the amp. It sounds amazing, dont get me wrong. I just wanted some advice on how to get the clipping to stop. I have a Kenwood Excelon KDC-X792 head unit and it has…

Is 2000 watts enough power for a Fi Q 18? Also I was wondering what would be better in my Dodge Ram Quad cab, its going to be inside the cab. 2 Fi Q 12's in a sealed box with 1.2 cubic ft per chamber or 1 Fi Q 18 in a sealed box with 5 cubic feet Thanks

I am truly worried about this since I am eager to get a X10 or X12 and it has to deal with power issues. I have an Arc Audio XXD 2080 and it des 240 x 1 @ 4 ohms when bridged. I truly have been wanting to get a Fi Audio sub since three years ago but would like to know would the amp and the X10 or X12 would work together hand in hand or would it be a total flop?

so I know you guys like a lot of details with having a picture on the problem but im not to a stage with a whole lot yet. But I was wanting to do two square ports on the lower corners of my box that i'm going to be making and the thing I was curious about was how to add up the separate ports on torres. if I wanted two 8x8 squares would that be what I put in and add the total length or would you put it in as one 16x16 since that is the combined port area

just crusin didnt even make it off my street sub up like half way.. sub cuts out, amps not in protect, no sound whatsoever out of the sub... pull out the DMM.. 2.1 ohms resistance at the wires out the sub (my dual 1 BTL in series) ok.. sub is not blown? set to voltage.. check the outputs on the amp got fluctuation in voltage with music on, unplug the RCAs voltlage stops fluctuating.. so i figure I'm getting signal from the amp, from the headunit, to the sub... where the hell is my problem I'm stumped.. Dual 1 ohm 18" BTL in 6.7 cubes@31hz in series to 2ohms Hifonics XX-Cyclops wired to 2 ohms ~3KW RMS been running it this way for about 2 years maybe longer.. didnt c…

hey guys im new to the forum and i have a question. im thinking about ordering a dual 2ohm 15" and wiring it down. my only fear is having my amp go into protect mode. my amp goes into protect at .8 ohm. what do the sp4 15" dual 2 ohm coils actually read. are they actually dual 1.27's if their re: 1.27 Ohms/coil? even if i wired it down to .635 do you think i'd be okay after box rise? im going to build a daily driver tuned around 28-30hz 500 is a good chunk of change and it would suck if i had to wire it up http://store.ficaraudio.com/sp415/ thanks for your help guys

Hello, So i'm finally deciding to change my setup in my '90 Regal and i definately would like to go with some BTL subs. I'm starting to plan everything out beforehand so i figured i'd ask your opinions first. I'm planning on going with a ported box and having it forward facing (blocking off the trunk.) So the rear seat would be removed. I calculated my max box size i can fit ... and it comes to just over 3.3 cubic feet. This is the I.D. of the box and the woofer has a .21 displacement so i'm at just a tad over the 3 cubic feet mark. Now FI recommends a 3-5 cubic feet box size. I plan on playing mostly hip hop/rap with big bass notes. Would i be fine with only having a…

So... I was on my way home listening to my Q and it suddenly stopped working. I parked and left it on and felt the sub while it was playing. When I pushed in just a tad, I felt it move a little. But when I let off...nothing. I took the sub out and found that the black plastic piece that holds the push terminals in came un glued. Im assuming that's the problem... I tried to get a reading with my DMM, but I think its a piece of junk. It just read 1. My gain is at about half. Amp is a planet audio rxd1000d which im selling soon. 2.5ft^3 box at 32hz. Don't think all that matters though considering I just need to know how to fix it right? Anyways...thanks in advance. Jonathan.…

hey guys, im gettin either 1 or 2 amps, here are my options, 1 of these bridged http://www.sonicelectronix.com/item_12212_...+BXi+2608D.html or 2 of these http://www.sonicelectronix.com/item_12210_...+BXi+1208D.html these are mono d class amps, now the bridging of the single amp is my concern, i ordered dual 1 of the BLs, would this diagram work? the subs are 1 ohm correct? so would this diagram still be somewhat valid? and if this does work, how would i design the box, because currently im planning to separate the chambers, unless one of you can direct me in the right way or i can jsut get the 2 smaller amps

Can I get a recone for 2 jl 12 w6's? My boy just smoked them and gave them to me. The only specs that I could find was, 300 watts rms, 2.5 inch coil, 11.1 xmax, and they are dual 6 ohm coils. And the dust cap comes with the recone? And what would be the new spes with the recone?

I recently reconed my BTL UFO 12" with high xmax option. I used the spacers provided to space the basket .250" above the bump in the motor. I first knocked the dust cap off in a huge box I had made for my zcon. 3.1 cu ft. tuned to 32. Glued it back up and I did it again. I built a new box because I thought big box, over powering, exc. could have been the cause. Plus it didn't sound that great (anticipated) I have a box made.. 2.4 cu ft. tuned to 32. Knocked the dust cap off again today. I am using household goop to glue the dust cap. Should I go with CA? Possibility that the recone was not made to be spaced from the motor?
