Hey all! Im in the market for a beefy little 10" woofer that will get loud and sound good doing it too! I'm lookin for something that can offer me great sq as well as great spl. I listen to rap/hiphop, country, dance/techno and some rockish music. I also get into stuff like Dave Matthews Band as well... I'll be changing up from a ported 12in JLw6v2 so Its gota be able to give JL a run for its money and thensome. For those who will wonder, the reason I am going from a 12 to a 10 is because of space... I'ma be moving soon to a bigger city, so I want to do a more compact setup. I'm going custom build a ported fiberglass tube enclosure and a 10 will be perfect for my i…

So here is my situation I have a Sundown 3500D in my car. It is a BMW 328i with factory everything. Im trying to jump on the sale and buy either an XCON or a ZCON. However, what is stopping me is the rated power. I plan on getting a single 12". It will, of course, be powered by the Sundown 3500D. Because it will be just one subwoofer (due to trunk space), I plan on getting a Dual 1ohm voice coil (so I can get a final load of 2ohms). My question is, should I proceed and get the XCON (which at 2ohm, will be fully powered @ 1750 RMS) or get the ZCON (which would be underpowered considering its rating is 2250 RMS and I would only be feeding it 1750 RMS). (the reason…

I'm just wondering what you guys do to have you're front stage keep up with your bass, cause I have Infinity 6x8 componets and the midrange is just not there when I got my bass on full tilt. So does everyone just get a custom door panel made and put a bunch of speakers in there or is there some speakers that can handle a lot of wattage or what? Maybe infinity perfects would be better I don't know I just want some really loud treble and midrange to keep up with 2 15's right behind me head

posted a thread on ca.com, thought i would mirror it here. excuse the copy paste, if you have any questions/pic requests, lmk, and ill do my best! Alright.. I got the oppertunity to purchase a damaged in shipping M5 spl15 from Mark himself for a STEAL. As it was damaged in shipping, it obviously needs a recone (actually, i am turning this one and another damaged in shipping spl 12 into custom 18's, so..) so i tore it down tonight, without causing damage to the softparts. and thought some of you may care (i have seen a few posts/questions in the last few days wondering about the quality of the m5 stuff) Before i start with the pics- yes i am a mach 5 "fanboi". Marks price…

Been looking into 15" driver's that work really well in small sealed enclosures 2cubes and below. The old power series of Rockford fosgate hx2 caught my attention with the recommended size of 1.25 sealed for a 15(before sub displacement). Is that correct does the driver hit a low enough frequency response in that recommended size of box? Just had the rf,dc lvl3,dayton ho on my list of drivers....Is this worth my time looking at a older style driver?

Looking for new setup. From the sounds of it, Fi seems to be the way to go. I have a Chevy Blazer and I like to listen to mainly rap with deep bass sounds. The Fi BL 15" or 18" look like they will do the job. Still undecided on the amp to run this. After looking around, Sundown or RF look like they would be well suited to handle it. Will they're be any other things that I will need if I run this? Advice appreciated.

Anyone care to look into the crystal ball and tell me where we will be at in 5+ years for subwoofers? Back Story: I own a near mint 10w7 and a 13w7 in pro wedge box. I'm deciding on selling a lot of my equipment (locally) because I've upgraded (Crescendo 3500) BUT I KNOW in about 5 years time, when I buy a different car, I will be "starting over" and probably starting small - 1k setup. And because I'm nearly giving this stuff away, I'm beginning to wonder, do I store it and use it 5 years from now because I'm saving a few hundred dollars ... or get rid of it, even at a few hundred-dollars loss in hopes that equipment is going to be EVEN BETTER in 5+ years? Besides my iss…

I have been considering trading up the BTL, as in, the woofer, and a chunk of $$$ for a LMS Ultra 18. I'm only considering on the grounds that it's said to be more accurate down low, much smaller enclosure requirements, and well, it's my dream subwoofer. However, I am not so in love with the woofer, that i'll piss away $450 on a trade up for looks alone. Has anyone used both woofers in an optimal alignment? There's nothing wrong with my BTL, but I want to pick a woofer and stick with it. I'm sick of the changing equipment and replacing things. So, while i'm in a position, financially, to do so, I thought I would ask for your guys' opinions. I'm after SQ, but with…

New BM's are in the making so we need to clear out some of the current 12's we have left. For a limited time only (the end date will be announced soon) we are clearing the BM 12's out for $170 shipped each. We are taking orders through us and also through Sundown Audio. Keep in mind the drivers are $280 regularly. I'll post up a buy-it-now link on our web page tonight once I get back to the office.

First I want to say I love these woofers and after trying them I don't understand why they get so much hate. I've played rock, country, jazz, rap, r&b, and blues. The subs played every note with great detail and clarity. Right now I'm running them with a Sundown Audio SAX 1200d at 1 ohm, and I'm just blown away with how loud they are and how great they sound. If these subs sound this amazing in a ported prefab box(1.25 cubic ft per sub) I can't wait until I get one built.

Hi guys I helped my buddy make a box for a rockford p3 slim 12 he picked up. I was curious as to how it would sound. And excited because I've seen videos online and never heard one in person. We built a to spec box using the Rockford website and I tuned it to 35. Seeing as how it's a shallow I didn't think there was need to hit low bass. Anyways it sound s pretty good. Not hat I was hoping lol. But as the weeks go by and I hear him pulling into work, it's really underwhelming. So I wanna get him an 8 if it's gonna be a dramatic change. His truck is a single cab Ford F-150 in the early 90s. Not so sure. It's real tight behind the seat. But I checked out some …

Building a wall, and need input on sub(s). It's in a 1974 Mini, so not that much room, but have thrown out the back seats and the wall is in progress. I'm guessing maybe 12-14cu.ft. total airspace? Will check later. I have a 2 x 1000 W RMS @ 1 ohm OR 1 x 2000W RMS @ 2 ohm amp (Helix Dark Blue 1000.2). What's the best "ground pounder" option for my wall with that power and space? To explain what I like, I have two JL 10W7's in my daily driver, 9 cu.ft. @ 20hz, and love them to death! I want decent SQ aswell. I want it to go deep, only playing 50-60hz and down. Have (3) Morel Elate SW10's for 50-60's and up, which will go in a separate enclosure below the wall. RE XXX-18 a…
