  1. Wow, that^^^ (javi404) is exactly why we stopped selling enclosures online. We always had great communication, but the maturity level of 90% of people in this hobby is that of someone in middle school.
  2. thats cause ppl actually care about playing music.... not ONLY burping.. But he does. Hence why his car is built for it. Do people give dante ( I think that's his name, the 180+ vehicle) crap or congratulate him on what he accomplished. Its a world first and its pretty awesome
  3. I thought some of you might get a kick out of this:
  4. I was fed. And it was glorious! 15 courses. Met a couple after we went for our walk while waiting back at the shuffle board table. They sat next to us. It was nice. Seriously. My wife wont eat, has never eaten, fish. She ate 4 different fish dishes. One with cured salmon also. Such an amazing place. My phone stayed in my pocket the whole time. I didnt even want to snap some photos as we had so much fun. I have never seen her so interested in food and I havent had such a great menagerie of flavors in a looooong time. 15 amazing courses. So wonderful.

Kerfing 101- UNDER CONSTRUCTION What is Kerfing? “Kerf” by definition means “width of a saw cut”. This is the width of the actual saw tooth itself as opposed to the width of the blade as a saw tooth flares out and away from a blade. “Kerfing” is a term that many woodworkers have adopted to define the process of making several cuts within a piece of wood to achieve the removal of material. Often this removal of material will allow one to then bend the wood stock making a nice professional and appealing curve that can be incorporated into the project. Kerfing and Car Audio: What can Kerfing do for you in your quest of car audio domination? Well first of all it is important to note that in any ported subwoofer box hard corners are the devil. They do not allow efficient air flow which can result in less output and more port noise. Kerfing your port will allow you to maximize efficiency and create the most non-turbulent flow for the air moving in and out of the enclosure. Secondly Kerfing can be used to make an enclosure or other part of your build more appealing to the eye. You could use it for corners of an amp rack, or to make a custom arm rest more smooth. Kerfing is a process you need to learn to take your builds to the next level. What you need: This is outlined in the video but you will need the following (* means you don’t HAVE to have it but it is recommended): Circular Saw (Or table saw but the process will differ from the video) Disclaimer: My Saw blade is 1/8” wide. I recommend the same width! T-Square (Or table saw fence) MDF Wood Glue Safety Glasses Tape Measure Marker/Pencil Clamps Fiberglass Resin* Fiberglass Chop Mat* Body Filler* Sand Paper* The steps: Watch the video! Once the kerfed section is made load it up with wood glue and clamp it in place. Finish with fiberglass resin and chop mat and for that added professional touch apply body filler to the area and sand! The Math: I go through the math in the video but in case you are having a hard time understanding this should help. Please note this is used for slot porting applications so when I reference “diameter” I am NOT talking about a circular port, I am talking about the curve of the kerf if you were to look at it along its cross section. See the photo below: Step 1: Determine the diameter of your curve. Note I said “Diameter NOT radius” if you have your radius just multiply it by 2 and you now have your diameter). Step 2: Find the circumference of a circle using this diameter. The equation is: Step 3: You should now have a value for your circumference. Take this value and divide by 4 for a 90 degree turn or 2 for a 180 degree turn, this will give you the “length of kerf”. Step 4: Record your value for the length of the kerf. This is how much material along your mdf “linearly” must be used to make your curved kerfed section. This is the value you want to “mark off’ for your kerf on the mdf. (Note that this method can also be used to find the “length” of this part of your port so that you can build your port to the target tuning length. Instead of using the diameter of your kerf arc, use the diameter of the arc that is the centerline of the port). Step 5: Now that you have marked off where your kerf will be on the mdf you are going to take your “length of kerf value” and divide it by 12. This will give you your length between cuts. Now in the video I show a trick for making these divisions perfect. That way if your value is something like .6384 you don’t have to guess on a tape measure. My method is also much faster as it doesn’t require this steps math. Once you have marked out all the distances between cuts you can proceed with cutting and making your kerfs! Other notes: These are other notes that have been brought up on other forums and I feel are helpful. I made the mistake of wearing gloves in the video. Never wear gloves with rotary tools! It is not recommended to apply screws in the kerfed section of the mdf, it will likely split, instead use clamps (or heavy objects) and wood glue. If you are blade in not 1/8 you will need to do some math to determine how many cuts to make. I generally remove an inch and a half of material, so if your blade is smaller, more cuts, wider, less cuts. Note that fewer cuts will lead to a rougher curve and more a smoother curve but with less strength. 6. In my country FedEx is way faster than UPS. And their female employees are soo cute !!! Nice mOve ! :-)
  7. I would have put the sub on the opposite side of where you put it so it wasn't right in front of the port opening, but besides that it looks good
  8. Started the enclosure build. Shallow depth, 3.25 cubes net, 32hz tune, 56 sq inches of port. I might be fucking myself by putting the driver right over the port. Had to do it this way. I praise those guys that build enclosures in a few hours. I have spent over 10 hours on this and it isn't even installed. I had to raise the driver a little to clear the port.
  9. Sounds like this will work out better for your customers. Maybe implement the option of adding shipping insurance? This way of FedEx damages a product during shipping it isn't on you or the customer.

why wouldnt you run it... from the test it seems like it makes rated power... I just stated my opnion is all. thats like saying, a fast food place will get you full, its true, but wouldn't you enjoy a home cooked meal better?
  11. I love college football.
  12. A lil bit of sex in the background
  13. thats cause ppl actually care about playing music.... not ONLY burping..
  14. Guess I need to update this. I got the DD's out, dropped the ufo BTL's with sundown parts in. Damn they're sexy as hell. Noticed a few odd noises when I dropped them in, figured it was one of the all thread supports coming loose. Checked everything. Come to find out one of the motors shifted from the basket a little. Shouldn't use washers for spacers I guess. So its about 100 bucks in the hole. Hopefully get more parts in the next two weeks. Plus dealing with everything from Hurricane Isaac. Also plans are shifting slightly. Will be running two DC5k's. Taking a hit on power and trading my amps for one. So how about some videos Go to about 3min for the bass Hurricane supplies chili time
  15. *Looks at the price of an N3*
  16. I'm considering it lol. I'm definitely getting a shield for it lol. Its all good. Glad I didn't kill it lol. You are looking at full custom ufo BTL sundown hybrids. 8 layer coils, 9.25" spiders, cooling on the baskets, triple joint collars ect.
  17. I will go to McDonnalds for a McRib. Just to relive my fat kid dayz. Off to travail right now. I HOPE the wife will try stuff. Im so hungry...... thanks for the rec Sean.

No, never doing an outrageous deal again. We never kept any Stetsom in stock, models changed faster then we could sell them. Then why keep them on board?
  19. Wonder what the new one would be called? We have a D-G-I-X-Z(con) right now... Maybe we'll get into numbers now? The 4Con?
  20. Senchez just jumped up & did the happy dance for hearing even the slightest possibility of this being offered in the future
  21. A smidgen of an update: All new projectdb metal. Battery terminals, triple inputs, and 12x12 distro's. The distro's with the + and - ran. Thats 18 of each. this is with the 6 + and 6 - 2/0 welding runs going below to the batteries. this was not fun to move around lol. Not as clean as I would like. It was like 90 out ( I know not hot for most of you but summer here is usually around 65-70 lol. And Im a fattie that was dumb enough to wear a black shirt that day.) so it will get cleaned up. since the distros were on the side of the box i didnt know exactly how long to cut the wires, So thats why the tops are a bit longer. Got finals in just over a month,
  22. SSA and Fi both use yellow spiders. I've owned multiple Fi subs as well as this xcon now and none of them had a yellow spider We moved to all Nomex. I personally prefer them. Seem to hold up very well.
  23. For the subs 4 8ga in and 1 4ga out, got 4 of them for both negatives and positives. New plates today
  24. If you're really going to run bawls to the walls amounts of power I would suggest running the ZCON in the lower end spectrum of box sizes. I've messed with box sizes + power, when I ran 6-7 cubes at 5k+ I ran into mechanical issues tearing spiders, etc. When I dropped it down to around 5 cubes that was the best space for running a shit ton of power. I didn't have anymore mechanical issues and got some good numbers out of it.
  25. Steve sells the DD-1. Basically everything he does is to rip you off. Our Steve...not that dip shit.
  26. Any body know what this guy's tuning frequency is ?? I'm thinking 65 htz or higher.
  27. Hers a few for now. keep in mind this was just a test section. I will bring it back down before finished product. I need to re install the door trim that goes horiziontal across the middle of the door. Small sail panel that i took off and did also.
  28. It's all in the rating. There is no standard for rating amplifiers, although CEA has come close, but it's still flawed. Technically, they can make that power, but at a frequency the amp will never produce at a load it will never see, yeah, you get the idea.
  29. Welcome to the world of car audio.
  30. Looks like a bag of money (rick ross voice)
