Most spiders are heat treated for this. The problem is the more you heat the tinsels up like a toaster wire the less effective they become. Not a build issue or quality issue at all. Hell I have seen a gcon motor so hot it left a nice burn in my hand and the leads were even hotter, but no fire just nice burn marks. The sub rated at is 750, but when you are giving it close to 1800 square wave things will get hot.

Beaming will occur when the frequency wavelength is less than or equal to the diameter of the cone. Make sure your units are the same: wavelength(cm) = 34029 (cm) / frequency (hz), so: Beaming Frequency (hz) = 34029 (cm) / diameter from Sd in cm Sd being T/S value for surface area of cone. IE: Exodus ex-anarchy driver: Sd: 131cm^2, area circle = pi*radius^2, so squareroot(131/pi)=radius=6.457, radius*2=diameter, 6.457*2=12.9cm 34029 / 12.9 = 2638hz So this driver, or any other driver with the Sd in the same realm would start to beam around 2638hz. If you know the cone diameter in inches then you could also do 13397 / diameter(in). Ultimately you'd want to be using measurements for the cone, and not the overall diameter of the driver. IE: Exodus ex-anarchy driver cone diameter = ~5", and OD is ~7" 13397/5=2679hz, 13397/7=1913hz That's a significant difference. ------------------------------------------------------------------- So a rudimentary answer to 8" mid and 6.5" mid would be: 8" OD, so let's say the cone diameter is 7", 13397/7 = 1913hz 6.5" OD, ~5.5", 13397/5.5 = 2435hz

Using either of those does not mean the gain is set right.

My SP4's started a small fire in this chick's panties once. Damnedest thing you ever saw. lol Either guys are just clueless and completely beating the piss out of these subs enough to catch fire or There is malfunction with the sub causing this.. I think one of these mystery subs should be sent back to FI so a determination can be made to either fix the issue or tell the person to quit being a dumbass.

depends on vehicle too. When my truck had 2 18's and a normal ported box it did a 50 at the headrest 50 in the kick and 50 at the dash. I have never seen anyone else post that they metered the same anywhere inside. Very strange...... Now I am 3 db louder in the kick. My headrest and sealed windshield number is the same. but at 18 I didnt car about metering. All I cared about was getting ass. Two 12's and a 400watt amp was bangin back then. I didnt do any upgrading every month back then.

if youre do that use stainless steel. OR brass/aluminum something that wont rust.or you can always undercoat the weld. because welds rust easy. but you can alway have a ground block made and bolt it to the unibody. i was just thinking today in my machining class of working on a independant project of taking a block of aluminum and machining it down in the CNC Mill and machining holes for 2 grounds and a bolt hole.

Subs mounted up Decided to run the Massive Audio RK6, they sound pretty good and so far I like them. Had to mod my doors a little and make custom rings. Using the MB Quart ONX4.125 for power. Got a little flex

here she is,back home again. this sub bas been around and is still stiff as new. same kicker wire, same damage to the surround. i about flopped out when i saw it on craigslist.

Your amp can produce a 1700 watt sine wave. It can produce up to 2X that if it isn't a sine wave. It all depends on what you send into it and how much you ask out of it. If the power supply can support it, it could easily produce over 3Kw under certain circumstances...

Once your tinsel leads turn into toaster elements your spiders can only take so much heat before they start burning. When you amp starts clipping you power goes up and causes this to happen.

Ok, so here are day 2 out of the box numbers on the meter. 149.35 @ 43hz in the kick door open 141.37 @ 27hz in the kick door open 148.04 @ 40hz in the kick door open 147.03 @ 39hz sealed on the dash 147.25 @ 43hz sealed on the dash 147.55 @ 35hz sealed on the dash 146.09 @ 32hz sealed on the dash 147.04 @ 38hz sealed on the dash 146.06 @ 45hz sealed on the dash I am EXTREMELY satisfied with this Evil!! It is truely an amazing subwoofer. Its just a completely different sound that I am not use to. Not for my own vehicle and nor any others beside Swift's F-250. The clarity and bass reproduction is simply phanomenal. I really can't say enough good things about it, and if you are on the bridge about getting one, DO IT! There is just simply no note that this subwoofer doesn't pick up. For example, in just ONE song, you can literally be slaped in the face by the higher notes, and then without a notice later, have your ass shaking out of the seat from the low notes. I was kind of weary about throwing 128cuin of port to just one subwoofer, but man, what a outcome this has become. To do nearly a 150 OUT OF THE BOX in a completely daily box, is just has been fluttered with butterflies. I get blurry vision, I have so much flex now that needs to be addressed, and I have electrical back bone thats needs to be looked at as well. Well enough talking of the Evil, at the end of the day, just do it, haha. As far as whats next for this build. I think I am going to attack my electrical. I spoke to Iraggi Alternator today at his shope, he says he can do trips for sure and with a little modification, we can place QUADS in my explorer, which will be the first IN THE WORLD. I got a quote and things are looking really good. Thinking 4 320s. So stay tuned! I will contine to take videos, pictures, and attneding shows. Next one will be SBN, then MECA on the 23rd of March. Yeah user error like everyone said. Put a dd1 or O scope on your amp and gain it right. I've seen 2 btl ufo 18s on a cresendo 5500 each and they held up great for a good amount of time.

hey guys. well iv decided i want to lose some weight. im currently 6'1" and 220. id like to be around 200-205 so 15-20 lbs would be nice. i have stopped drinking pop about 4 days ago and i am eating right (smalled portions, and a salad instead of a burger) yes, i have a membership to the gym but i work non stop and hardly have time to go to the gym. so are there any other tips on how to drop some weight beside no pop and eating right that i can take into account with my daily routine?
