March 11, 201312 yr Author Lets see pics of the start of the wall I need to stop putting this off. I'm just intimidated and a bit overwhelmed. I guess I'm still butt hurt over flipping my car and losing all that hard work. I went out to my truck today and stared at it for about 20min. But I free aired the 18 today and played with my new HU, kinda got me excited a little. I have no problems with running the wire, putting the HU in, running comps batts ect. But no clue where to start on this wall lol.
March 11, 201312 yr Author d3400 is the stock size for a blazer? Looking to see what I can fit in mine Yes sir. You just need the I-bar mounts to set it up for side terminals. I ordered these. http://4xspower.com/shop/terminals/555-i-bar-multi-top-post-and-side-terminal-adaptor/
March 11, 201312 yr ^ sweet, thanks I hate side posts....Was thinking of just converting it to top, just cut off old ends and put ring terminals on? Edit: or do those posts you showed let you connect the stock stuff to the side and everything else on top? Edited March 11, 201312 yr by Tim Harmening
March 11, 201312 yr Author ^ sweet, thanks I hate side posts....Was thinking of just converting it to top, just cut off old ends and put ring terminals on? Edit: or do those posts you showed let you connect the stock stuff to the side and everything else on top? The second part is correct, That's why I got them. Gives you two connection points besides the stock location.
March 13, 201312 yr Do floor first then sides, then top, then front baffle, and then back last. Metal bracing like 90* metal pieces in the corners..
March 13, 201312 yr I am incredibly excited about seeing this build as I am planning something very similar in a Touareg.
March 27, 201312 yr Author Here's a small update. Pulled the stock battery to drop my D3400 in. Had to mod the battery tray. Pain in the ass using dremel cutting wheels lol. Repainted it. I went to start my big three and just getting ready to start running wire in general. Well couldn't find my hammer, roommate moved it and didn't tell me. Took almost an hour to find. I was pissed. I ended up breaking my hammer crimper once I found it. Got one crimp.... I didn't like the diyma 0ga terminals really... I also pulled the front differential actuator while the battery was out, to hopefully find my 4wd issue and I did. Stock Decent size difference. Modding the tray Took way too long with a dremel tool... Nice fit That's why it won't lock in I'm feeling my motivation come back lol.
March 29, 201312 yr Author But we have heat lol. I tried putting the HU in tonight. The kit was allllllllllll wrong.
April 5, 201312 yr Author I got under the truck, cleaned/scraped the frame treated with the rust/paint shit and it looks way fawking better. Painted the receiver hitch, tail pipe and bomb canned the finder wells. I can say it looks way better. Still gotta do the spare tire mount and get the whole truck painted but oh well. yuk Fender flares and all that jazz too.... Saturday, I should be able to get the HU in finally. Just going to cut up the factory dash bezel for now. Spent my extra monies on ordering an mechman elite 370a alt. 10 ton crimpers should be here tomorrow. So back to wiring Next weekend the blazer should be getting some wood.
