      Bad ground somewhere...Can also start from bad plug wires too....either two ways there's a short that's introducing noise.

      Checked all the grounding points I can (battery, front and back). I took off all the door panels and checked spkr connections=nothing. Checked HU connections, rca's=nothing. I'm wondering if it's the alt itself : /

      Try plug wires. If they've built up resistance, they'll sound like an AM radio station

    If you're looking to really do anything to the escape you may want to check out escape-city.com They have a forum that covers any year Escape, Tribute, or Mariner for anything concerning them. I'm a member on that site as well : )
