I compete in MECA and went to my first comp. today with the xcon's. Did my personal best of a 151.1@40hz Also did a 127.6 in park and pound....mic outside the vehicle 6 feet away. These subs not only sound awesome but can get pretty loud too. Did 3 p&p runs back to back (30seconds full tilt) and the subs handled it fine, didn't get warm or smelly setup is 2 15" xcons's on a crescendo 3500

okay i am a newb so lets keep any comments about me being a dumbass to a minimum. i have a 1991 mercedes benz s-class its a large car. i only have room for either 2 12"s or a 15". Any recommendations on what i should get. i can spend roughly 1000 for the sub/amp combination. i like the 15" SSA xCon or maybe 2 kicker l7 12's. i did like the Fi 15" Q but i read some reviews where people had durability issues. I am open minded to anything. Sound quality is somewhat important as i hate my friends 15" power accoustick P3. it is horrible. thanks David

  7. So I installed my new 12" xcon last week and I could not get it to seal up against the baffle. Tried 3 times. Upon taking off the gasket i found the gasket had a tear in the seam and after really looking it over I found the basket is warped/bent in the upper right side. I can't seem to find any sort of tech support for SSA, but I don't wanna try to fix it myself unless I know I can't get it fixed under warranty. Any help is greatly appreciated!

I tried using the SSA gallery, but had a few issues, so photobucket links. I'll be building a few boxes soon, at least one sealed and a couple test ported boxes for my 96 Volvo 850 GLT (trunk). This 12" xcon d2 will be replacing my current Infinity Kappa Perfect 12vq's, and powered off a Sundown SAZ-1500d. I have a 50ft spool of 1/0 welding wire in my room, a sax100.4 on the way from db-r, and will be ordering the mli65's from the ssa store along with a battery or two. Now I just need to find some decent tweeters, and get to the box building. Found this on my porch the other day: Awesome packing, very secure: Money shots: Various xcon pics on photobucket

Hello, It is just a little review of my last subwoofer. I was running an Icon 15 dvc 2 in a 3.5 cubic feet box tuned at 32 Hz. The box was designed by Fisher customs and built by a friend for his xcon. He since, changed box, so I managed to get the old one! The Icon is one of the most accurate sub I've ever heared. I love the fact that it is loud but can play ALL the bass notes. Lot of subs plays all the notes, but this one is quite flat : like if all the notes are played at the same (high) volume. (My vocabulary is limited, so I can't really explain everything as I would !!!) The amp is a Sundown saz 1000 d. My car is a hatchback Toyota Auris.

Hello, I want to tell you my feeling after changing my sub enclosure. Some people are afraid of going sealed with the Xcons, and want advices. I had a 3.5 ft3 sub box, tuned to 32 Hz. Design was made by Fisher Customs (need the new ones JBL Camry, please). My car is a hatchback car, and I had the sub and port facing up. I loved it, but I could not put a bottle of water (or whatever) in the trunk, and the amps were not breathing right : no room at all. I made a friend (he has an Xcon 15" too) build a sealed box for me : dim are (70 x 40 x 40 cm), so 27.6" x 15.7" x 15.7 ". I think they fit in the ones provided by ssa. I have a lot more room in the trunk and I like that !…

Is this even worth trying? I have a 19 Ram Crew Cab and it looks like the 10" GCON is probably one of my few options as far as a shallower mounting depth and smaller enclosure size. I know recommended is 1-.1.5 ported, but I just had to ask. .84 will be after driver displacement, probably end up doing an external port against the back wall of the cab somehow. I am trying to retain a little space under the rear seat for junk, so I do have room to go bigger if its going to be the difference between meh and good. Power will come from an Arc XXK1500 (roughly 1000wrms). Im just worried a single 10 sealed will not give me the output I am looking fo…

Newb here. Looking for some input from the more knowledgeable. So i can conclude on amplifier choice. Desiring to put a Gcon 15 sealed in the trunk of my Jetta. I have approximately 2.88cuft to work with. So now my question is; what rms power would be better for daily use 820 or 930? I listen to mainly hip hop and electronic types of music. Occasional rock and jazz. Please let me know if any other info needed and thanks for your help. Mark

Since there is no "pre-designed enclosures" tab for the GCON, and "enclosure recommendations" says 2.0-2.5 ft3, I'm wondering if I could use the plan for the ICON (12" optimal ported, 2.5 ft3 @ 30 Hz)? @Aaron Clinton?

I have a 350z and I was looking for a good sub to have ported....i know dustin from dc creations and okc and he said i should check out the gcon. Reason for the gcon is that I wanna use my old amp i still have which is ED nine.1 monoblock. The problem I was having was the space issue and and the weird shape of my trunk with the strut bar in the back. I was hoping this would be a good combo for my car cause im tired of not having any lows. I was originally gonna get a SA8 or a 10 but Dustin said these subs are pretty bad-A. Any help from ppl that have messed with a Z or know if i should take a different route or any help would be great.

im wanting to try a new sub to get a little better sound quality. the box is right at 1.0 after port and sub displacement. i think 1.35 or 1.4 before. the problem is i only have 7 inches of mounting depth. i noticed the subs are built a little differently but each have the same mounting depth for the 10". mainly what im wanting to know is which sub would be better with the mounting depth i have.

Hows it going fellas. Let me preface; I've been running my 2) 12" GCONS in the DC-Creations 1.35 ft^3 Sealed Enclosure @600W RMS Each (Kicker ZX1000.1) for quite some time now with absolutely no issues. I love these speakers and the DC enclosure is dynamite; not a single problem whatsoever. Like my previous review stated, they're loud, clear and rugged as hell. I had previously ran a couple of sets of 10" and 12" Type-Rs with this same amp and they just couldn't hang; ended up burning up multiple subs over the years. The GCONS have always stayed cool even after countless 5-10+ hour road trips. Anyway, I've always wondered how they would sound and how loud they'd b…

I'm in the market for a daily driver sub. I just finished my choices and was looking for a GCON 12d2, but come to find out they aren't being made anymore. Is the replacement coming anytime soon?

http://www.soundsolu...ionsAudio/GCON/ GCONs are loaded on the store, not quite ready for sale, but we are getting there, about to post specs and descriptions for them. Better get ready, we only have a few hundred on the first order for motors. When they are gone, there will be a wait for them.
