I'm just going to assume this is my fault. But here's the situation. Was riding the other day while at my normal bumping level and smelled something funny. Turned system off and got the sub out today and saw this. I've never really blown a sub before so I don't know how this happened. Was it from too much power? Clipping? Any help would be appreciated. Assuming I will need to get a recone. Will be contacting ssa here soon. All gear is in my sig. No bass boost of any kind was used and everything had been working great for 6 months. I do have a second xcon that is perfectly fine. Is it odd that only one went out?

We never release anything until we are dead set on the information. Pricing will be posted soon. After much debating, I finally decided to pull the trigger on a dcon 10 d4. Currently building a 1.25 cu ft box tuned to 32 hz. I am excited, but also a little nervous buying a speaker I have never heard. However, all the hype surrounding this woofer has convinced me to give it a try. I'm just hoping to get good clean sq with a little output from this speaker. It will be running off 300 watts from a JL XD 500/3 in a ford fusion.

So, I'm ducking impatient. Got the box from the local installer today.... very happy and checked it for leaks .....found zero. Installed the subwoofer. Made my own terminals. Sort of stole an idea someone was using home depot terminals but went with nicer looking copper ones... brass bolts and some really nice 8 gauge wires... so far the XCON is amazing!! Dialed ba ck in my gain as well cuz it was too strong or authoritative I'd say. Will post some pics of the install soon....

I'm new to this forum and after much research I'm 99% sure that I am going to go with a dcon 12 for my ford fusion build. My goal is sq with as little room taken in the trunk as possible. The sub will be running off the 300 watts of a jl 500/3. The only thing really holding me back is the box design. I want to go with a sloped box that follows the contours of the seat to keep the enclosure tucked under the rear deck/cross beam area. Nomore than 7 inches t the top and 12ish at the bottom spanning the length of the trunk area. Now, I keep reading that this sub really wants to be put in a ported enclosure with a low tune, but I'm not sure if that can be achieved with my s…

I have my amplifier's gain set around 2500wrms. My commute to work is 50 minutes one way. I have been pounding on my XCON now for about a month (atleast a full hour a day) with well over rated wrms. So far it sounds clean, no mechanical noise or distortion that I can hear. The cone does get warm but no stinky. No coil rub at all. I need a recone due to a cosmetic flaw on my part. I accidently got expanding foam on the cone which has not affected anything but looks. So I figured on would pound on the sub and see what happens. So far the sub works flawlessly. 3" aluminum coil ftw. Good job to SSA. There is no doubt in my mind that this sub will function beautifully for yea…

I bought an SSA Icon 10 from my son a while back. My son is SQJEEP here. We got around to building the box for it. We used the box design in the tech section. Fantastic box design....We built it exactly to the design and holy shit this thing pounds. We did the 1.35 cubes. It's not finished yet but here are some pics. It's running off a Zed built Usacoustics USA 2150 bridged and rated at 500 watts. Please note....The panel sticking up in the back is the amp rack and it is going to be replaced. It's the old one and it's just in there temporarily. Hello everyone! I had an Icon 15 in a ported enclosure in my old ride and loved it. I would have loved to have had it in it's optimum sized ported box to see what it could really do, but the 3.75 cubes tuned to 34hz sounded kick ass anyway and got nice and loud. I had it powered by a 1200 watt JBL amp. The car I have now unfortunately can't fit the the Icon 15 enclosure height wise. I was wondering if an Xcon 12 in it's optimum sized ported enclosure tuned to 33 - 34hz powered by a SAZ-1500D V.2 could get as loud as my previous Icon 15 due to more motor strength?

Mark, This is in reference to THIS TOPIC.... I looked in the store but I cannot "order" or "add to cart" the 15 inch Xcon. Just curious about the shipping method since I need to ship to a P.O. box. Please let me know what we can do. Message me or respond here if possible. Thanks, Danny Also this: Just to make sure, enclosure recommendations is 4 cubes ported.... Inner dimensions I came up with are as follows: H: 16in W: 25in D: 18.5in is that right???

We only have a handful of Xcon's left in stock, so if you are looking to grab one, do it now before these are gone until the supplies come in.

Im looking for a good amp to power 2 12" SSA ICONS in a 2.35^3 sealed box for a nice daily driver application. Will the Sundown SAZ 1500d v.2 be enough to power those ICONS? I am not overly concerened with extremely high SPL just a nice punchy daily driver with a good mix of SQ.

I was asking a question on "that other forum" about some different setups and this was one of the replies that I got: So the 10" Dcon isn't a good sub, and the enclosure built to optimal specs isn't efficient?

The build house is caught up and all Dcon's are shipping out this evening or first thing tomorrow morning. Those who are interested, send me a PM, I am offering a $10 SSA Store credit towards a future purchase as a thank you for holding on a little extra time for the delay. The Icon's are still on the way, but there are a couple more parts that are held up before production can start and a final prototype has to be tested to make sure everything with this new version of the Icon is all buttoned up and ready to roll before production. There are around 6 or so Xcon's in stock. After those, there is still a wait on steel supplies for them, ditto on the Zcon's.
