i need to speak with an associate with SSA. i installed my XCONs yesterday and there is a problem with the ohms being too low. i bought 2 dual 1 ohms and its reading .02 on the multi meter. as soon as i put music to them the amp went into protection mode. does anyone have a number to call so i can resolve this quickly. i dont have much patience to wait for emails back and forth. i just wont to send them back so they can correct my problem. thank you -

Could someone please confirm the exact cut-out diameter for a new Icon 12"? The Sketch-Up seems to indicate just over 11", but I would like to confirm before touching saw to MDF. Thanks! -

Which would be louder and sound better ultimately? 8 icon 15s or 4 XCON 18s? I know the 15s have more cone area, but the 18S are more efficient, handle more power, and have more excursion. Would run 4 15s off of a 3500d or 2 of the 18s off the same amp. -

Can they perform in 1.75CF3 after displacement? What is the displacement? Can a box that is .75" MDF hold 7000W? Would it be wise to put a .75" piece between 4 of these? How much port area is needed? I can do 10, 11, 12" aeroports, or two (if theres a .75 bracing between 4) 8", etc. How much port area is needed for 1.75cf3 after displacements? I was going to use 4 sealed Eclipse SW8200's with a 3000.1, E Tech says NO ported, but I could put 1 huge aeroport through the back seat @ 47hz for SPL and insert a piece of cylindrical styrofoam for 30hz again, subs up, port into the cabin hitting the front seat divider. It would be badass if I did that but not if I could get Xcon… -

im thinking about getting an xcon 15 but wanna see if i should use my old box or make a new one. old box is 3.4cf after displacement using 2 4inch pvc ports tuned to 30-31hz. would that be good enough for an xcon 15 or should i go bigger? amp will probally be a kicker kx1200.1 or something similar. -

Great sub...I do have a question though. I bought the sub from my son.....he bought it here. We built a 1.35 cube box tuned to 32 hz according to the reccommended box designs. I have been running it off a Usacoustics USA 2150 bridged rated for 500 watts. Probobly a little more than that......It has sounded incredible. I had the pleasure of recently aquiring an ESX Q275.2. Bridged rating is 800 watts. Am I getting close to the power handling of this sub? I have tried to find specs on the original run of Icons but have had no success. -

Hi SSA, Currently in the market for a 15" sub that works best in sealed, airspace is 2.0 to 2.5 cf^3. Power for use is 750W on low-end to 1800W on high-end. Music preference is a mix of r&b, rock and some rap when the mood strikes. This will be in a crew cab truck, orginally I was looking at a quad setup for 8's or a single 12 but decided to look at going with the biggest driver I can fit. Feedback from users of the ICON and XCON would be great. Thanks in advance for your time and assistance. MW -

I want to run a Sundown SAZ1500D v.2 and a XCON 15D2. I have a 2008 Hyundai Elantra and unfortunately a 15" ported Khaotik enclosure will not fit. So my question is : do I buy a 15" sealed Khaotik enclosure or a 12" ported Khaotik enclosure? Which of the two will give me the most output when powered by a SAZ1500D v.2? Thanks! -

While I'm awaiting shipment of the beast I'm working out the design for its future home. It will be going in a center console of a single cab Silverado. At this point it looks as though I can squeeze in 3 cubic ft after all displacements. I'll be running it off a SAZ-2500. I'm wondering what i should tune it to. The suggested range is 29-34. My port area figured up right now will be 40.25in^2. (11.5x3.5). -

I have read the thread on the box specs, saying aim for 7 cubes and 100 inches of port area for each XCON 18. I have also watched the vid from the FIRE IT UP show and doubt that box is anywhere near those specs. I have 99 dodge durango, (not the most space in the world) and trying to get the most from it. I am new to box building, tired of shelling out high dollars for someone to build me and my friends a basic box. I can get the 7 cubes a piece, but not too sure about the port area thing. with my space it will be hard to get 200 sq inches. Some box calculators dont even show port area, just tuning frequency. I want to tune about 31 hz. How important is the high port ar… -

Hello everyone! I had an Icon 15 in a ported enclosure in my old ride and loved it. I would have loved to have had it in it's optimum sized ported box to see what it could really do, but the 3.75 cubes tuned to 34hz sounded kick ass anyway and got nice and loud. I had it powered by a 1200 watt JBL amp. The car I have now unfortunately can't fit the the Icon 15 enclosure height wise. I was wondering if an Xcon 12 in it's optimum sized ported enclosure tuned to 33 - 34hz powered by a SAZ-1500D V.2 could get as loud as my previous Icon 15 due to more motor strength? -

Hey everyone, I have changed my mind many times about my build that I will be doing in the future. I think I have finally decided for sure on what sub and amp I am going to run. My choice being a single 12" Xcon in a enclosure that seals off the trunk with the sub firing into the cabin. It will be powered by the new Megalith Zed Monoblock. My question is... Should I worry about much reinforcement in my enclosure with only a single 12" thats a lot of power compared to most retail subs that I have worked with in the past. Also, I want to run a ported enclosure, what would the optimal tuning be for electronica music? 32hz? 34hz maybe? Also if I'm running this Should… -
