Well, the DCON 12 that i won in the giveaway arrived today. I immediately removed it from the package and examined it. Aside from the motor it is a spitting image of the Icon. Glue joints are flawless and just looking over it and holding it you can tell the build quality is top notch. I have pics i will post up when i do the build log I actually spent yesterday rewiring the car and prepping things, so i was eager to put it in a temporary prefab box to start breaking it in. I finally got it in around 8 this evening and started to play around with it. New box build will be coming over the next week, it is currently in 1.25 cubes gross, sealed I can already tell that this t…

Hey guys, I've got a Toyota Echo 4dr hatch, and I've got a Sundown SAE1200d and an XCon 15" fighting for space in the hatch area. I won't be able to make the 2.0cf smallest recommended sealed box volume recommended on SSA's tech section. I modeled the sub and it looks like a Qtc of 0.7 needs less than 2.0cf... unless I screwed up. So the ultimate question: has anybody used the Xcon 15" in less than 2.0cf and what did it sound like? Thanks!

Okay as all of you may or may not know I am home on leave from the Middle East. I am doing this review in my spare time (which has not been much due to some family issues). Also my digital camera was not around till after the install as my old one needed service and my new one had yet to be purchased. (AKA no pics but the 2 vids at the end.) All things considered we hace had decent grounds for this review so here we go!!!!! Equipment HU: Pioneer AVIC-N2 Comps: Kicker 6.5" componants (tweets on glass mids in doors) Amps: One 100.4 Sundown Audio amp (comps) and 1500-SAZ also by Sundown audio. Subs: 4 SSA iCON 10" subwoofers Dual 2 coils. Wiring: 1 AWG Rockford Fosgate from …

This review is a result of the SSA Dcon Give Away here on DIYMA. So, first I would like to thank Aaron & Mark of SSA for participating in the give-away and providing 2 free drivers to members of the community. Specifications for the driver can be found HERE. The cost for the driver once added to the cart in the shopping section of the SSA website is $165 plus shipping. As you can see from the below picture, the driver is single boxed with 4 foam pads glued to the sides of the box at the mounting ring and (not visible) foam padding underneath the motor structure with an inner cardboard "box" that surrounds the motor structure. The driver did shift slightly during s…

Just wondering if there is any difference in that model than the newest one? He's actually a member on here also under the name dwnrodeo but he's not so active he said.

Aaron and I ordered 1000 stickers a while ago and finally got them in! colors available are: white, blue, and yellow they measure out at : 6" x 2.5" these will be given away with every sub ordered. Also we're working on getting larger production stickers for the shop. But we're not locked down on pricing as of yet. We will keep you all posted

I documented the complete build from start to finish for this enclosure since folks wanted to see it, all 65 pictures worth. The only pic's I didn't take were of the enclosure with carpet, the camera batteries crapped out. http://s296.photobucket.com/albums/mm184/m...verado%20build/ You'll have to view the album start from the last page backwards, it just happened to upload the pics in that order.

I ordered 3 SSA dcon 12's that should be here soon. I am putting the subs in a t-line box and I am wondering if there is a particular break in for the subs. With all of my other subs, I have just kept the volume low for about a week and then crank it up. Any suggestions are appreciated. Thanks

I got my xcon in the Wed. I am kinda late on posting anything about for i have been building boxes for the last week. I heard it for the first time yesterday in the new box.(7.3cuft@30hz 107.6sqin of port) I like the way it sounds. :bigclap: Different than any other sub i have heard. I must say that i love it. It SLAMS the lows. I listened to some heavy metal to see how well it picked up the double bass, I must say i am very impressed. The $426.54 i paid for it was well worth it. I would recommend this sub as well as ssa to anyone that I talked to . Very great company with outstanding quality speakers.

We only have a handful of Xcon's left in stock, so if you are looking to grab one, do it now before these are gone until the supplies come in.

Well I think Im goin to go with a Zcon 18 for my trailblazer. I have enough room for the 18 but what would be best for the box size and tuning. I know 6 to 8 cubes is optimal with 31-37hz tuning but what have you done or do you think is the best? Also how should I have the sub and port face? I'm pretty sure sub up port back. For amp and electrical, I have a crescendo BC2k and a deka 9a31 in the back. I'm not going for numbers, just straight daily. I listen to mostly rap and that's what I want it to sound best with. My max dimensions are 46w x 32.5d x 20h. thanks in advanced and if you need anymore info please ask.

Just left marks house. My dad and i both got a demo of xcons. They sound even better than i imagined. They were really crisp, tight, and accurate. They love the low notes. They also put out quite a bit of output. Thanks again for the demo mark. Maybe i will have to switch out my xl 18s to xcons now

hi, i just got me a 02 king cab nissan fronteir and i have around 3 ft^3 of air space to play with. i could do more but i would like to keep the ensclure below the back window line. i figure since i dont have that much space it would have to be sealed. so i am looking for sound quality but would like it to be able to drop low and be decently loud and i listen to rap and r and b. so i am wondering would 2 12" icons powerd off of a saz1500d or a saz2000d since this wont be happening until after xmas with 1.5 ft^3 for each sub be louder and cleaner then 3 10" icons on a 3000d ( roughly 750 rms on each sub) with 1 ft^3 per sub. the front stage will consist 2 of the h…

hi i have a bxi 2610d and now im looking for good woofer(s) and narrowed it down to xcon or l7. my goal is to hit the lows damn good and im not concerned in higher frequenzies. in other words i want to shacke my whole car, maybe hairtrick, window shacke, etc. either id get 2 15" l7 or 1 18" xcon. both setups would be in the max recommended ported enclosure. but personally ive never heard an xcon and dont have the chance to do it.

I'M looking to build a louder setup. I currently had a Dcon 10" in a 1.15 cu/ft tuned to 31hz drived by a Memphis PRD1000.1 at 4 ohm( 300rms but never clamped it..) I got the space build optimal box spec of those woofer but probably 5 cu/ft at 30hz.I like low tuned box.I listen to every style of music so i need good reponse. IDK what way go.. Buy 3 other Dcon or 2 Icon 12" ?? For sure, I'll bought an other amp to well feed those woofers even if a keep Dcon line.. A solid 2000rms amp and i'll be gently with the gain.I like my driver cause it's sound very clear and i'm satisfied by is reponse. Opinions? Thanks
