Hi guys, Haven't been on here for a while. I'm wondering if someone would be able to design me a box for my first gen. Mag 15" that would be a perfect cube of 3.5cf (internal) with a 28hz port. I've been trying hard to figure it out but it just doesn't work. Thanks, Max

Hi, I'm new to this forum, and i need some opinion, what you guys think of this setup? 4x RE Audio SE 15's in 6.7~7.0cuft Sealed Enclosure power by 2x Sundown SAZ-1500D giving them like 750wrms each. 8x RE Audio RE 6.5 Components power by 2x Sundown SAX100.2 giving them like 75-100 wrms or 1x Sundown SAX100.4 giving them like 80 wrms, I read that the RE 6.5 are rated 50wrms can they take more than that? will the 8x RE Audio RE 6.5 be enough for the 4x SE 15's? What Alternator size will be good for this setup? The ones that have experience with both MTX and RE Audio, will the 4x RE SE15's Sealed be louder than 4x MTX 7500 15's also sealed? sorry for so many questions but …

Sup guys, i'm really interested in the mags, i know it's goin to cost me some money but def. well worth it, i'm thinking of putting up a wall in my car and go with either 3 12" mags or 4 12" mags, most likey each powered by a nine.1 or an RE 12.1, i was wondering how much space would be recommended for them i'm goin to say probably 2.0 cf per sub? and what would be a good tunning for it, probably around 32-35 hz? its either a wall or 2 12" in a crx style box with a orion 2500d.. suggestions are welcome. thanx

I found an old JL 10 for sale, didn't see a number on it. Looks like it was reconed or something but ok job. Motor is near as big as the hole it would go in, its heavy. Kind of well used looking but new JL dustcap and maybe foam on it, it is all black and stamped looking frame....any idea of value? Not sure what I could do with only one. It has thick paper gasket on top edge that is torn up some, the rest is not bad.

So I was looking at my new Crescendo Audio CCX65's and I noticed 2 possible issues I'd like feedback on. Issue 1. One of the crossovers is loose in its case and rattles around and can be moved around inside the case by pushing or pulling on the block. The other one is rock solid. Will this cause any issues other then an annoying rattle? If not I will just open the case and adhere it down like the solid one. Issue 2. One of the mids is not centered. I am not sure if this will rub or not during use since its not like these things have subwoofer excursion levels. I pushed the cone up and down a bit and didn't see or hear it rub. But I have a damping factor of about -6. So I…

  9. this is a quote from some guy talking shit on my box is it even true what he says i think it sounds good "Pre-fab means Prefabricated. It means that the box was Pre (already) Fabrication (made) before installation. Even tho you have the measurements for the inside of the trunk. Doesnt make the box ANY better. The box you have I GUARANTEE you sounds like crap, just because of the fact that there are not seperate chambers for the subs. This means that the back flow (the air you feel, when the subs hit. IF you have a vented box); The back flow from the subs facing the back of the trunk are reverberating the subs on top of the box. This means you have double re-verb, which s…

Hi, So I just placed a big order for my dream system off of SSA, consisting of 2 15" SSA Icons, a Crescendo BC2000D, XS2700 and stickers, The subs will be going in a Dodge Dakota Quad Cab, I will be removing two seats in the rear and have dimensions of 22" H, 30" W by 34" deep. Ill be getting DC to design me a box, just wondering what tuning I should ask for and where to put port if subs are on the top plane? I want something fairly balanced SQ to SPL but more to SQ side definitely. Love hitting the Lows hard and want to push lots of air. (if possible) Mostly looking for tuning recommendations for those subs in a cabin like the Dakotas, and also port placement, Thanks…

Where can I find a plate amp for a subwoofer for less than $100? I've tried Parts Express but they only have a 25 watt one in stock. Here is my situation, so please help. My friend has two 10" sony subs that we are using for a cheap build project. They are both SVC and 4 ohm. Is there any way that we can hook both of them up to one plate amp? If so, how? We were looking at buying two plate amps, one for each driver, and doing things that way. Will a 25 watt per channel amp be good enough for a sealed design? We want to keep the total cost as low as possible. Thanks.

I have 2 18" Zcons I recently got, and I just realized the baskets are slightly different. 1 sub stands a little taller then the other, one basket has the option to be a quad terminal, and has different cooling. Wondering if I can still wire subs together to 1 amp with no worries. All coils read 1.0

According to SI's Mag webpage, the current one (Well, most current) is the fourth version. I know about the "Claw" Mag, and the (most) current Mag D2, but what are the other two versions? So how can I tell if I have the fourth generation Mag and not the third? And to the best of my knoledge, the Claw can't be paired with the Mag that's out, and both of them can't be paired with a triple stacked Mag that's coming out. Does the other two versions work with any of these mentioned. Also, Now that the new triple stacked Mag is making it's debut soon, what are we going to call the one that's out now? The first Mag is the Claw Mag, and the new one will be the new Mag. So wh…

I'm number crunching and having issues with depth. I know spacers is the "duh" option. Mids can't be inverted/wired out of phase right? All the sound would go into the door then huh? Why does it work for subs but not higher freqs? I'm havin a dumbass attack and need someone to explain this to me lol

So I've been running my RLp 15 for 7 years now with no problems. Thing still rocks. But I've grown tired of my current box and amp and would like to change things up a bit. Currently I'm running a sealed enclosure with the sub inverted along with a Directed 1500D. I'm looking at a new amp and another sealed enclosure but this time I'm going with a standard box with the sub installed with the basket inside. My question is this: Should I continue to run the sub at 1 ohms or should I wire it to run at 4 ohms? The reason I ask is back when I bought my sub I was chatting with Mike about my box design and amp and he told me I should really pair the sub up with a good 500-600 wa…

My RL-S 12" arrives tuesday. I made a post on ca.com which I asked for a design for 2-3 cu. ft. and everyone replied saying I need a much larger box. Although, SS and SSA recomends 2 cu ft minimum and 2.5 optimal. Does anyone happen to know what the smallest cu. ft. box I can put this driver in for good results? Not looking for a perfect response curve, just something decent.

Should I go with 3 or 4 kicker 12L7's.....2 13w7's....or 2 or 3 12w7's I'll probably haev either two kicker 1500 watt amps or the kicker 2500 watt amps. I'm looking to bump hard around town, sound nice and get real loud. It'd be nice to about hit 150dB if possible. thanks! Or if there are any other subs that are comparable if not better, suggestions are welcome!
