Thanks for a awesome design / site
3 pointsI wanted to say Thanks to Mark and LaFountain Designs for the hard work and awesome website he designed and did for me. We had a nice site for the last 4 years through someone else and wanted a change. Figured it was a good opportunity to work with Mark and since SSA and his other sites are so nice I knew I wanted to go this route. If anyone has a business and wants a new look definitely give LaFountain Designs a shot. Here is my site http://zoom-moving.com/3 points

2 pointsprime example of why you shouldn't trash talk. You never know who might drop in on the conversation.2 points- Xcon 18" sub issue
2 pointsThe packing issue has addressed on the Xcon's, as they are all now crated like the Zcon's. The couple of Xcon's that have had a dust cap snafu, we are addressing it right now, and I think people will really like the results. And to the second part of your post, be careful what you wish for.2 points- Received Q18, terrible packaging
2 pointsWhy the hell do you keep saying this? Do you really think that a company with the customer service of SSA/Fi would ship you a damaged sub on purpose? You need to chill out.2 points- New Fi Website instore
2 pointsThanks for getting this up. Mark has had most of it ready for some time, but with our OEM schedule we have had to put most things Fi on the back burner. With the site having increasing issues on multiple browsers something had to be done.... and fast. We will get images going shortly and add quite a bit more overall content. But so happy its just up. Mark was right, blessing in disguise with things going down. Thanks, Scott2 points- new X series sub
2 pointsI have had to many things go awry over the years in setting dates for products. We simply drop product when we have parts machined and are ready to go.... but this one has been ready for several months and we were wanting to release it with a new site, new clothing, and other announcements. Problem is we became swamped with OEM work and had no time to do any of the above for ourselves. Since the site started having issues with multiple browsers the past couple of weeks, it needed a rush and a push to get "finished" even without the X and some polish to things (which is definitely not a fault of the we designer). We will get the X up in the next 2-3 weeks when I can find time to finally get proper photos taken. Pricing will be good and the drivers are definitely solid. I have been very happy with them. Thanks for your patience....2 points- First 160+ db Trunk Car
2 pointsI would never build a burp setup because it just isn't my thing. But that shouldn't take away from what he accomplished by keeping ALL equipment in the trunk, and hitting the 160 mark.2 points- Team SSAudio 2011 Mustang

1 pointIf those straps snap I am in more trouble than a battery flopping around! haha I hear ya.. I was thinking more about how the strap is fastened to the base, looks like screw with washer into wood? If that's the case then it would not take much for that to snap off, considering the weight of the battery. I was thinking the same thing when I was designing the tray. But then again I thought "if these screws come out then something really bad is happening!". I will keep an eye on it1 point- Chop"s 86' Cutlass

1 pointI could not agree more with the post. Yes UPS and Fedex do drop the ball when it comes to shipping sometimes, but that is why the subs should be properly packaged just in case. My $400 18" SSA Xcon that I paid $40 to get shipped to me just showed up with a cracked basket. Either because the 65 lbs sub was packaged just like the above guys sub, or because it was damaged before it was even shipped. I was shocked when I saw how it was packaged too! I always see large Xcons in crates but I guess that was not important anymore. As I said in a prior post, you have not seen Xcon's in crates, we only just now switched them over. Please stop with the accusations, no idea why anyone would think that getting the product to the customer is not important to such a small internet only brand.1 point- 2- IB315 in the trunk

1 pointI got the batteries secure in the trunk. Nothing fancy. I wanted to make sure that the top of the batteries are not above the trunk floor. Installed. The batteries are not wired to the system yet.1 point- First wall in the WaGoN! 4 15" DCONs... :)
Why?... tell me why. P They're dcons... 300rms. I had a [email protected] on 3. They dont need more power. Why dont u buy some and fry them yourself. Because u got a "wall" and that shit looks weak..1 point- Group Buy on a Zed Built Boss Audio REV-665
The BOSS branded Zed amps are grossly OVER RATED. These are rated 200X4 or something silly, they do around 45-50W per channel into 4 ohm. They are very nice looking (and sounding) amps. Small enough to get under a front seat in most import cars (did one in smaller Toyota and Hyundai). I have a few of these stashed here "just in case". I picked one of them up this winter as a souveneir when I went to visit Stephen at the shop. These were made in the days when he had 100 employees and were building 1000 of these a day. He told me he NEVER had one of these come back blown. They seem rock solid. @Aaron Take the damn plastic wrap off the top of that!1 point- First 160+ db Trunk Car
1 pointI fully agree, he built it for a burp class, and as of now did it better than anyone else ever has.1 point- casey's freshly reconed zcon 15 **new box**
here is a short video of caseys FRESHHHly reconed (4 days old) zcon 15 in his new box he built himself in his trunk (4.5 cubes tuned @ 32hz IIRC) on his audiopipe 3k. sounds GREAT. kind of a shorter video but you get the point. i will meet up with him agin this weekend for a demo of my decret build.....lol.......... and get a better longer video of his system. anyways enjoy1 point- First 160+ db Trunk Car
1 point- Xcon 18" sub issue
1 pointWhy would I not attempt that first? I pulled the sub from the box and the surround off only to see that the basket is cracker behind the surround. Meaning it was either damaged during shipping, or before it was even shipped. The sub was shipped just about as recklessly as one could possibly ship it. It was just a regular cardboard box with Styrofoam sitting inside it (not specifically positioned anywhere). When I saw the box the first thing I thought was that I would file a claim ASAP if I opened it and saw any damage. I opened it and it looked fine when it really had hidden damage. There is no reason why I should be a happy go lucky customer when I got a damaged sub due to the lack of proper packaging. Yeah UPS could have been responsible but that would not have happened (at least in that specific spot) if the sub had been crate packaged like I see they are all over online. What else does the build house really expect will happen when they throw and 65 lbs 18" sub in a cardboard box and hand it over to be shipped? Maybe you're new to it, if so, no worries. But, a paypal dispute is on of the last things to try when there is an issue and the selling company is not responding or addressing the issue. It is for when product is not delivered or wrong product delivered, not shipping damage. Paypal does not have anything to do with UPS. This was not an issue with packing until these last couple of months a few started popping up, and we have already had the factory switch over crating the Xcon's (only Zcon's were crate packed, so you are mistaken about seeing Xcon's crated all over online). Never said you should be a happy go lucky customer, not even close, but at least have some respect for the concept of business and give the business at least a moment to address the problem. As I said via email, we will be sending you a shipping label shortly and covering the damages/repair.1 point- NE Regional 3X Multi State MECA Final and IASCA Regional with Top 20 S
Take lots of pictures for those of us who have to work. Will do!1 point- Fi Btl N2
1 pointProblem is frame geometry on the 10". We can fit the motor, use the same 8" spider, but given the power handling and overall linearity of the N2 the rock ratio/geometry simply isnt optimal. We have been asked many times, but we simply do not want to put out something we feel isnt "right" just to sell a sub. Thanks, Scott1 point- New Fi Website instore

1 point- Xcon 18" sub issue
1 pointWhat exactly was the need for filing it the instant the package was opened? If you take a minute to look at their track record it's more than evident that Aaron & SSA hold customer service as one of their top priorities by responding quickly to every customer issue and resolving all of them to the customer's satisfaction. I don't think anyone is suggesting that you be pleased you received a damaged subwoofer, but filing a claim with paypal before you've given the company the opportunity to resolve the issue with you seems asinine. Hell, according to your plan you would have filed a paypal claim before you even informed the company there was an issue. It just so happened you didn't notice the damage earlier. It seems more like you wanted to prove you were pissed off and throw a bitch fit by filing a claim immediately rather than actually work with a company with stellar customer service to resolve the issue you unfortunately encountered. Everybody has encountered an issue with a company or product at some point in our lives, some of us are capable of handling the issue maturely.....others are not. The OEM's shipping habits are no secret. They ship thousands of subwoofers per year with comparatively limited issues.1 point- Welcome to the IHoP

1 pointX3 it sounds like the dustcap isn't properly attached to me as well. I LOVE SSA and Fi products, but it sure as hell seems like there's someone over at Fi who's not doing their job right during production. It's too bad there's no serial numbers on the units, it might make it possible to track down who did what on which units and who it might be that's slacking.1 point- VW Passat install

1 pointWiring up the car-puter: Touchscreen installed for testing: Final install of the screen: A-pillars wrapped in fake suede: An aluminum or stainless steel ring is next, to conceal the mounting lip Wiring under the amp panel, along with the narrow spare: Everything up and running Sadly the time was very short and I could only get 15 minutes of listening of the system. SLS 8's on 200w each are beasts Next up is adding some sort of fan for cooling the amps and the car-puter and when the recone gets here, I will post up box build pictures. Thanks for the kind comments guys ! This install was a ton of work, even for 2 people1 point- Rick's build log
1 point- VW Passat install
1 pointThe A-pillars and tweeter pods were a 1-day job, we didn't have any time to listen when aiming so everything is on-axis One big issue with the midrange pods was the vent behind the A-pillar. Originally I would have liked to use the space behind the A-pillar and keep the intrusion to a minimum but it was not possible. Milkshake on: A-pillars sanded / primered and tweeter pods painted flat black, with a bit of texture to mimic the oem texture of the plastic panel: The A-pillars were wrapped in fake suede later. Next up some pictures of the finished install, sans subwoofer. Turns out whatever I do on this level, the subwoofer is a low priority1 point- VW Passat install
1 pointWiring Since the car-puter and the sound card are installed in the trunk, there was no need to run RCA's to the front. But we still had to run speaker wires, a couple USB's, a VGA cable, a Cat5e cable and a few other cables for possible switches. Turns out there were a lot of wires.1 point- Received Q18, terrible packaging
1 pointAgain like I stated in the email you sent, sorry that this has happened. We ship thousands of subs this way with no issue, and we do still crate up the heavier subs. This product was def. mistreated during the shipping process. Again just let me know if you need help with anything, that is what I'm here for.
