What a minute guys, if he is going to make a huge purchase like this he should have the original box, instructions, receipt and transferable warranty. No way I would spend that much money without knowing I am making a smart purchase.

Not one of their woofers would I choose for a sound quality install. Sure sundown woofers can sound good in the right install, it doesn't mean they are a SQ driver Define what you consider an SQ driver -- also; specify what part of our drivers don't fit the definition in terms of lines that address all major modes of distortion -- such as the SD-2 8" (under-hung, linear suspension, low natural Le variation) or the Z v.4 line (35mm linear magnetic travel, linear suspension, dual shorting rings). Unless your definition of SQ does not include objectively, measurably low distortion you'll find that you might be surprised.Now... I didn't set out to make the worlds top of the line SQ sub with any of our lines; that isn't our market. But you will find many of our drivers feature more distortion lowering technology than quite a few drivers considered to be "awesome" for SQ. Even our SA series has dual Faraday rings.

not really, an install that sounds good and a sound quality install are not necessarily the same thing

I've played with a DCON, ICON, and XCON. My XCON 10 has been amazing so far but I've only begun to get any listening time on it nor have I really had time to tune it in with everything else. The 15" ICON that I sold to a guy locally and have helped him install and tune has more potential, I know it. We're looking at building him a new enclosure but it kicks plenty if ass as is. His friends have claimed having trouble breathing when it's cranked up but comment that it was the best they'd ever heard before bailing out, lol. The DCON though, has to be the best bang for the buck sub I've ever had the pleasure of playing with. My sisters 12" DCON gives more output with better detail than anything else I've used in its price range. It's hands down the first thing I recommend when someone is looking for a more budget priced sub. I have to ask, why are you so worried about the SQ of the SSA lineup or from any line of subs for that matter? The enclosure and it's design have SO much more to do with the results you hear than the driver itself does. Besides that the sub plays such a small set of frequencies that it's importance pales in comparison to the rest of the system as a whole when you're really talking SQ.

I've dealt with Tantric Sounds a couple of times when purchasing drop in recone kits and have had nothing but excellent CS and products. People do not realize what drivers the owner of Tantric Sounds has designed and engineered. All the hate over a little grammar etiquette is plain asinine. It's a forum for cripes sakes, get over the narcissistic ways that has plagued this forum for years now. As to the minion follwers, get informed before posting ignorant remarks just because an authoritive ass hat has replied. The Ti basket issue is not an issue when you look at it. So many brands have and continue to utilize the Ti basket. So many new cookie cutter brands are coming out with a new sub and they all utilize an open tool bakset. The GCON is dynamite in a nice sealed enclosure. Very happy with mine. Can't speak for the rest of the product line though.

I've had the Xcon/Zcon and heard the gcon. All actually sound amazing. The gcon sounded so smooth. OMG was it nice sounding. The Xcon is just in its own class. It's just sex to the ears

Well, it says right in the post 'stop using ellipses'. Maybe I'm reading it wrong. You just told him using ellipses makes him look like a 3rd grader then say that? Saying something just to say it...It is incoherent. Removing the ellipses would surely make it WAY more coherent. You guys full of sand or what?
